If I Can't Have Love, I Want Power (Clear/Orange Vinyl)
Regular price $30.00 Sale price $24.00 Save $6.00Following up 2020's Manic which debuted at No. 1 on Billboard's Top Current Albums chart, Halsey's fourth studio album If I Can't Have Love, I Want Power is a career-defining body of work. Produced by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, the album is a bold concept record that pushes creative boundaries. Halsey channels the old masters in the regal cover art which finds the pregnant singer sitting atop of giant gold throne with a bejeweled crown, her breasts exposed and holding a young infant.
"This album is a concept album about the joys and horrors of pregnancy and childbirth," Halsey shares about If I Can't Have Love, I Want Power. "It was very important to me that the cover art conveyed the sentiment of my journey over the past few months. This cover image celebrates pregnant and postpartum bodies as something beautiful, to be admired. We have a long way to go with eradicating the social stigma around bodies and breastfeeding. I hope this can be a step in the right direction!"
It will be fascinating to see what the award-winning duo behind the soundtracks for Soul, The Social Network, and more will do with Halsey's one-of-a-kind pop style.
Car Therapy Sessions - Walnut Brown
Regular price $21.00 Sale price $15.00 Save $6.00Faye Webster announces Car Therapy Sessions, an EP of new and re-imagined songs by Webster recorded at Spacebomb Studios with a 24 piece orchestra. The orchestra was headed by Trey Pollard who was responsible for both conducting and arranging, and Drew Vandenburg produced and mixed the EP. Car Therapy Sessions will be available on vinyl in the fall and is available to pre-order on April 13th. "I have a vivid memory of walking around London in 2018 listening to a mix of Jonny, which I had just written. I remember thinking "I want to perform this song with an orchestra". I truly have had my heart set on it since then, always talking about it and figuring out how or when to make it happen," says Webster. On the EP, Webster reimagines three songs from her critically acclaimed 2021 release I Know I'm Funny haha and 2019's Atlanta Millionaires Club. The songs "Kind Of", "Sometimes" and "Cheers" take on a cinematic and glimmering new sheen. In addition to the title track -"Car Therapy" - she also shares a sprawling and emotional work - "Suite: Jonny" - which combines fan-favorites "Jonny" and "Jonny (Reprise)." The two songs originally appeared on the Atlanta Millionaire's Club tracklist, two different views on the same narrative. Here they're presented together. It's remarkable how beautifully Webster's work can take on this orchestral treatment. Like Cole Porter, or Judy Garland - her delicate and emotional delivery packs a gut punch when dramatized by the EP's robust arrangements.

HAIM consists of three sisters: Este HAIM (bass), Danielle HAIM (guitars and lead vocals), and Alana HAIM (guitars and keyboards), as well as drummer Dash Hutton. I Don't Live Here Anymore (IEX-Translucent Blue)
Regular price $36.00 Sale price $32.00 Save $4.00The War On Drugs return with I Don't Live Here Anymore, their first studio album in four years. Over the last 15 years, The War on Drugs have steadily emerged as one of this century's great rock and roll synthesists, removing the gaps between the underground and the mainstream, between the obtuse and the anthemic, making records that wrestle a fractured past into a unified and engrossing present. The War On Drugs have never done that as well as they do with their fifth studio album, I Don't Live Here Anymore, an uncommon rock album about one of our most common but daunting processes – resilience in the face of despair.
Just a month after The War On Drugs' A Deeper Understanding received the 2018 Grammy for Best Rock Album, the core of Adam Granduciel, bassist Dave Hartley, and multi-instrumentalist Anthony LaMarca retreated to upstate New York to jam and cut new demos, working outside of the predetermined roles each member plays in the live setting. These sessions proved highly productive, turning out early versions of some of the most immediate songs on I Don't Live Here Anymore. It was the start of a dozen-plus session odyssey that spanned three years and seven studios, including some of rock's greatest sonic workshops like Electric Lady in New York and Los Angeles' Sound City. Band leader Granduciel and trusted co-producer/engineer Shawn Everett spent untold hours peeling back every piece of these songs and rebuilding them.
One of the most memorable sessions occurred in May 2019 at Electro-Vox, in which the band's entire line-up – rounded out by keyboardist Robbie Bennett, drummer Charlie Hall, and saxophonist Jon Natchez – convened to record the affecting album opener "Living Proof." Typically, Granduciel assembles The War On Drugs records from reams of overdubs, like a kind of rock ‘n' roll jigsaw puzzle. But for "Living Proof," the track came together in real time, as the musicians drew on their chemistry as a live unit to summon some extemporaneous magic. The immediacy of the performance was appropriate for one of the most personal songs Granduciel has ever written.
The War On Drugs' particular combination of intricacy and imagination animates the 10 songs of I Don't Live Here Anymore, buttressing the feelings of Granduciel's personal odyssey. It's an expression of rock 'n' roll's power to translate our own experience into songs we can share and words that direct our gaze toward the possibility of what is to come.

Regular price $32.00 Sale price $27.00 Save $5.00Limited double pink colored vinyl LP pressing. 2022 release. Big Time is an album about the expansive power of new love, but this brightness and optimism is tempered by a profound and layered sense of loss. During Olsen's process of coming to terms with her queerness and confronting the traumas that had been keeping her from fully accepting herself, she felt it was time to come out to her parents, a hurdle she'd been avoiding for some time. After that tearful but relieving conversation, she celebrated with her partner, their friends, oysters, and wine. Three days later, her father died; his funeral became the occasion for Olsen to introduce her partner to her family. Though she was fearful their presence as a newly out queer couple would be "an additional symbol of loss," those days went peacefully, yet only two weeks later Olsen got the call that her mother was in the ER. Hospice came soon after, and a second funeral came quickly on the heels of the first. Another trip back to St. Louis, another grief to face, another deepening and intensification of this still-new love. Three weeks after her mother's funeral she was in the studio, recording this incredibly wise and tender album.
Lucifer On The Sofa (Colored Vinyl, Orange, Indie Exclusive)
Regular price $28.00 Sale price $24.00 Save $4.00Spoon's tenth album, Lucifer on the Sofa, is the band's purest rock 'n roll record to date. Texas-made, it is the first set of songs that the quintet has put to tape in its hometown of Austin in more than a decade. Written and recorded over the last two years – both in and out of lockdown – these songs mark a shift toward something louder, wilder, and more full-color. Lucifer on the Sofa was co-produced by Spoon and Mark Rankin (Adele, Queens of the Stone Age), with contributions from Dave Fridmann and Justin Raisen. Britt Daniel describes the album as, "the sound of classic rock as written by a guy who never did get Eric Clapton...I spent a lot of 2018 and 2019 listening to ZZ Top." Angular lead single "The Hardest Cut" was the first song written for the album. The Lucifer on the Sofa artwork was created by renowned artist Edel Rodriguez.
Ballad Of Dood & Juanita
Regular price $24.00 Sale price $20.00 Save $4.00Vinyl LP pressing. Inspired by such classic concept albums as Willie Nelson's Red-Headed Stranger, Sturgill Simpson's The Ballad of Dood & Juanita is the Grammy-winning singer/songwriter's third album in twelve months, and his most ambitious project to date. Written and recorded in less than a week, and featuring the same ace musicians who played on 2020's Cuttin' Grass albums, the record tells a classic American story of a Civil War-era couple torn apart by violence and reunited by love - what Sturgill calls "a simple tale of either redemption or revenge." The Ballad of Dood & Juanita is Simpson's first album of all new original music since the release of 2019's Grammy-nominated Sound & Fury. This new collection of songs was produced by Sturgill and David Ferguson and was recorded in Nashville at the Cowboy Arms Hotel and Recording Spa. Special guest Willie Nelson is the featured lead guitarist on the track "Juanita."

Doubt - 140-Gram Translucent Orange Colored Vinyl [Import]
Regular price $31.00 Sale price $27.00 Save $4.00Originating from Wiltshire, Jesus Jones (Mike Edwards - guitar, vocals; Tony de Borg - guitars; Al Doughty - bass; Gen - drums; and Iain Baker - keyboards, samples) arrived on the scene in 1989 with three charting singles and a charting debut album "Liquidizer". • Second album "Doubt" (January 1991) was preceded in 1990 by the hit singles "Real, Real, Real", "Right Here, Right Now", and subsequently the Top 10 hit "International Bright Young Thing", and "Who? Where? Why?". The album went to # 1 in the UK, earning a Gold Disc for 100,000 sales. In the US, "Real, Real, Real" and "Right Here, Right Now" reached # 4 and # 2, and the album was certified Platinum for sales of 1,000,000. • Here's what Iain Baker has to say about this album: "While 'Liquidizer' was all about random sounds, found audio and sound effects bursting out of the songs, "doubt" was about trying to let samples underpin everything... Despite all of the sampling (and indeed, all of the fuss that surrounded it), "doubt" was also just about songs, and the simple art of the pop song itself." • Featuring the hit singles "Real, Real, Real", "Right Here, Right Now", the Top 10 hit "International Bright Young Thing" and "Who? Where? Why?", the album is pressed on 140 gram translucent orange vinyl.
We've Been Going About This All Wrong - Marbled Smoke Vinyl
Regular price $25.00 Sale price $20.00 Save $5.00Limited smoke colored vinyl LP pressing. 2022 release. Sharon Van Etten has always been the kind of artist who helps people make sense of the world around them, and her sixth album, We've Been Going About This All Wrong, concerns itself with how we feel, mourn, and reclaim our agency when we think the world - or at least, our world - might be falling apart. The ten tracks on We've Been Going About This All Wrong are designed to be listened to in order, all at once, so that a much larger story of hope, loss, longing and resilience can be told. This is, in itself, a subtle act of control, but in sharing these songs it remains an optimistic and generous one. There is darkness here but there is light too, and all of it is held together by Van Etten's uncanny ability to both pierce the hearts of her listeners and make them whole again. Things are not dark, she reminds us, only darkish.

Fear Inoculum (Limited Edition 5LP Vinyl Hard Shell Box)
Regular price $179.00 Sale price $130.00 Save $49.00One of the era's most highly-anticipated albums, Tool's fifth LP Fear Inoculum originally arrived in August 2019 and debuted at No. 1 on Billboard's Top 200 amidst heaps of critical praise with NPR proclaiming that, "Fear Inoculum was worth the 13 year wait," Revolver hailing it as "a masterpiece to be dissected for years to come" and Consequence of Sound writing that it found "Tool in peak performance."
Preceded by the sprawling 10-minute plus title cut epic, the 85-minute follow-up to 2006's 10,000 Days was produced by Tool, with Joe Barresi (10,000 Days) engineering and mixing. Frontman Maynard James Keenan discussed the themes of the album with Revolver: "I feel like this is [about] wisdom through age, through experience. Learning from your mistakes, learning from your successes. So if anything is a broad stroke of this album, it would be embracing where we are right now, acknowledging where we've come from and some of the things we've grown through." Two songs off the album received Grammy nominations including lead single "Fear Inoculum" (Best Rock Song) and "7empest," (Best Metal Performance) with the latter winning the award.
This long awaited vinyl package of Fear Inoculum finds the album pressed across five 180-gram LPs, with tracks featured on Side A, and unique etchings featured on Side B. The discs are packaged in a hard shell box with new album art, and a bound casebook holding the vinyl along with new imagery not previously seen.
Artifacts
Regular price $31.00 Sale price $26.00 Save $5.00Double vinyl LP pressing. Artifacts began humbly as a means of compiling a few early Beirut EPs for a proper physical release. However, as Zach Condon explains in album's excellent liner notes, reconnecting with old recordings through fresh ears turned a simple re-issue project into something much more expansive. "When the decision came to re-release this collection, I found myself digging through hard drives looking for something extra to add to the compilation. What started as a few extra unreleased tracks from my formative recording years quickly grew into an entire extra records-worth of music from my past, and a larger project of remixing and remastering everything I found for good measure." Artifacts is a phylogenetic tree. A double-LP's worth music that traces the evolution of Beirut from a 14-year old Condon's first attempts at bringing the music he heard in his mind to life, to the fully formed Beirut we know today.
Let It Be Special Edition (Super Deluxe 4 LP + 12" EP Box Set)
Regular price $200.00 Sale price $150.00 Save $50.00The Beatles' chart-topping 1970 album Let It Be receives a range of beautifully presented Special Edition packages in October 2021! The new Special Edition follows the universally acclaimed remixed and expanded anniversary editions of Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (2017), The Beatles (aka The White Album) (2018), and Abbey Road (2019). All of the new Let It Be releases feature a new stereo mix of the album, as guided by the original "reproduced for disc" version by Phil Spector, sourced directly from the original session and rooftop performance eight-track tapes. The Super Deluxe collection also features 27 previously unreleased session recordings, a four-track Let It Be EP, and the never-before-released 14-track Get Back stereo LP mix which was compiled by engineer Glyn Johns in May 1969.
The Super Deluxe vinyl collection's beautiful book features Paul McCartney's foreword; an introduction by Giles Martin; a remembrance by Glyn Johns; insightful chapters and detailed track notes by Beatles historian, author, and radio producer Kevin Howlett; and an essay by journalist and author John Harris exploring the sessions' myths vs. their reality. The book is illustrated, scrapbook style, with rare and previously unpublished photos by Ethan A. Russell and Linda McCartney, as well as never before published images of handwritten lyrics, session notes, sketches, Beatles correspondence, tape boxes, film frames, and more.
While recorded in 1969, Let It Be remains the Beatles' final salvo due to its release in 1970 and the internal tensions that mark the album. Filled with a litany of underrated gems, it also hosts the universally recognized gospel-laden title track, on a par with the best material the Beatles ever recorded. Controversial due to its involvement of Spector, Let It Be marks a return to a drier, back-to-basics live-in-the-studio sound. Seldom, if ever, were the Beatles so raw and direct, as the folksy harmonies on "Two of Us" and straight-ahead charge of "I've Got a Feeling" demonstrate. And the orchestral and choir arrangements on the Spector-treated "The Long and Winding Road" simply soar.
