Laurel Hell (Opaque Red)
Regular price $28.00 Save $-28.00Limited opaque red colored vinyl LP pressing. 2022 release. With Laurel Hell, Mitski cements her reputation as an artist in possession of such power - capable of using her talent to perform the alchemy that turns our most savage and alienated experiences into the very elixir that cures them. Her critically beloved last album, Be the Cowboy, built on the breakout acclaim of 2016's Puberty 2 and launched her from cult favorite to indie star. She ascended amid a fever of national division, and the grind of touring and pitfalls of increased visibility influenced her music as much as her spirit. Like the mountain laurels for this new album is named, public perception, like the intoxicating prism of the internet, can offer an alluring façade that obscures a deadly trap-one that tightens the more you struggle. Exhausted by this warped mirror, and our addiction to false binaries, she began writing songs that stripped away the masks and revealed the complex and often contradictory realities behind them. She wrote many of these songs during or before 2018, while the album finished mixing in May 2021. It is the longest span of time Mitski has ever spent on a record, and a process that concluded amid a radically changed world. She recorded Laurel Hell with her longtime producer Patrick Hyland throughout the isolation of a global pandemic, during which some of the songs "slowly took on new forms and meanings, like seed to flower." Sometimes it's hard to see the change when you're the agent of it, but for the lucky rest of us, Mitski has written a soundtrack for transformation, a map to the place where vulnerability and resilience, sorrow and delight, error and transcendence can all sit within our humanity, can all be seen as worthy of acknowledgment, and ultimately, love.

Copycat Killer EP
Regular price $19.00 Save $-19.00MM...Food (IEX) [Explicit Content] (Green, Pink, Indie Exclusive)
Regular price $38.00 Save $-38.00After re-launching his career in the late nineties with a string of singles on Fondle Em Records, leading up to the instant-classic Operation: Doomsday album, MF Doom relentlessly pushed forward, always innovating along the way, building what has become one of the most storied and revered careers in the world of Hip Hop.
One apex point along that journey took place circa 2003/2004 with DOOM releasing Viktor Vaughn Parts 1 & 2, Madvillainy with Madlib (a legend in his own right), King Geedorah's Take Me To Your Leader, and MM.Food all in that short and explosive timeframe. While all of those projects have been revered by fans and critics alike, MM.Food is the only album that officially exists as the proper follow-up to Operation: Doomsday. MM.Food finds DOOM digging deep into vocal soundbytes related, as well as fitting to his namesake and artistic vision, meticulously building a cohesive album narrative. Diligence in mind, his writing is as sharp, witty and often shocking as ever. Production-wise, DOOM utilizes a fine blend of familiar and obscure sample sources, complimentarily working together to both satisfy and intrigue. And, while MM.Food is mostly the work of a mad scientist in his secret lair, a sprinkling of super-villain team ups with Count Bass D, Madlib, PNS of The Molemen, Stahhr, and Mr. Fantastik, all add to the album's overall flavor. Even after all these years MM.Food remains a satisfying feast for both returning true believers, as well as herds of new fans who happily and eventually find their listening ears in the clutches of DOOM.
The Battle at Garden's Gate (White)
Regular price $41.00 Save $-41.00Indie Exclusive White Vinyl.
Described as "a bold evolution" from the band's 2018 debut Anthem of the Peaceful Army, Greta Van Fleet's highly anticipated second album The Battle At Garden's Gate came together primarily on the road or while in the studio after the runaway success of 2017's "Highway Tune" led to the band packing up, leaving home, and eagerly soaking up new experiences on an extended road trip around the world. The melding of all these experiences opened their eyes to amazing new worlds of culture, history, philosophy and spirituality – and ushered in an entirely new way of looking at life and the approach to their music. Accordingly, Greta Van Fleet poured everything they experienced into these new songs – the music reflects their spiritual and intellectual growth, increased awareness of the inequalities plaguing the modern world, and deep empathy for what other people are going through.
"We realized that while growing up, we had been shielded by many things, and we were unaware of a lot of things," says drummer Danny Wagner. "And then we were thrown out into this huge world, and it was a bit of a culture shock at first. But as we started to travel a lot, meet new and different people and experience different cultures, our definition of ‘normal' changed." "I suppose that everything has changed except what got us here in the first place," adds bassist Sam Kiszka. "Everything – our perception of the world, perception of life itself, what it means to be an artist, what it means to be part of a beautiful, gorgeous society. We've gained a larger understanding of why we're all here."
In general, the album's arrangements are spacious and leisurely, giving the music pleasing dynamics, as the band touches on all manners of rock ‘n' roll. The Battle at Garden's Gate is cinematic, capturing the breathtaking energy of an exciting fight scene or the smoldering passion of a brooding, heroic protagonist saving the day. Sonically, The Battle at Garden's Gate also feels bracingly modern, an embodiment of genre-blended musical freedom. Recorded in Los Angeles with Greg Kurstin (Foo Fighters, Paul McCartney), the album is ambitious and expansive, marked by epic journeys such as the second single, "Age of Machine," and the Top 5 rock hit "My Way, Soon," which boasts a towering chorus hook and rip-it-up-and-start-again lyrics.
Josh Kizska explains, "It's very dynamic, lyrically speaking. And that's the human experience. It's much more than pain or fear; it's also beauty. People need people, and love is important." Lyrically, The Battle at Garden's Gate muses about the influence of technology on modern life; the role conflict plays in the global sphere; the deceptive fulfillment of tangible riches; and philosophical questions about life, love and power. Josh goes on, "There was a lot of self-evolution happening during the writing of this album that was prompted by experiences I had, experiences we all had, so a lot of contemplation occurred." Jake Kiszka adds, "It's reflecting a lot of the world that we've seen, and I think that it's reflecting a lot of personal truth. What Josh does very well with the lyrics is telling ancient tales with a contemporary application."

Regular price $27.00 Save $-27.00‘=' (pronounced ‘Equals') - the fourth installment in Ed Sheeran's symbol album series – is the singer/songwriter's most accomplished work yet; the evolution of an artist who continues to tread new ground. A body of songs that were made over a four-year period following his seminal ‘÷' (Divide) album era, thematically, ‘=' finds Ed taking stock of his life and the people in it, as he explores the varying degrees of love ("The Joker And The Queen," "First Times," "2step"), loss ("Visiting Hours"), resilience ("Can't Stop The Rain") and fatherhood ("Sandman," "Leave Your Life"), while also processing his reality and career ("Tides"). Sonically, ‘=' encapsulates Ed's versatile musical palette, spanning signature, guitar-led tracks and world-class balladry to weightier, euphoric production moments, as first showcased on the album's lead single "Bad Habits." "‘=' (Equals) is a really personal record and one that means a lot to me. My life changed greatly over the past few years – I got married, became a father, experienced loss, and I reflect on these topics over the course of the album. I see it as my coming-of-age record, and I can't wait to share this next chapter with you," Sheeran shares.

If I Can't Have Love, I Want Power (Clear/Orange Vinyl)
Regular price $30.00 Sale price $24.00 Save $6.00Following up 2020's Manic which debuted at No. 1 on Billboard's Top Current Albums chart, Halsey's fourth studio album If I Can't Have Love, I Want Power is a career-defining body of work. Produced by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, the album is a bold concept record that pushes creative boundaries. Halsey channels the old masters in the regal cover art which finds the pregnant singer sitting atop of giant gold throne with a bejeweled crown, her breasts exposed and holding a young infant.
"This album is a concept album about the joys and horrors of pregnancy and childbirth," Halsey shares about If I Can't Have Love, I Want Power. "It was very important to me that the cover art conveyed the sentiment of my journey over the past few months. This cover image celebrates pregnant and postpartum bodies as something beautiful, to be admired. We have a long way to go with eradicating the social stigma around bodies and breastfeeding. I hope this can be a step in the right direction!"
It will be fascinating to see what the award-winning duo behind the soundtracks for Soul, The Social Network, and more will do with Halsey's one-of-a-kind pop style.
Cuttin Grass-Vol. 2 (Blue/White)
Regular price $25.00 Save $-25.00Just a few weeks after the surprise release of the Cuttin' Grass (Vol. 1): Butcher Shoppe Sessions album – which Uproxx called "the most sublime and delightful music he's yet made on record" – Sturgill Simpson returns with the next installment of his bluegrass series, Cuttin' Grass (Vol. 2): The Cowboy Arms Sessions.
The genre-defying singer/songwriter reconvened an A-Team of acoustic players (now dubbed "The Hillbilly Avengers") for another round of reinterpretations of his catalogue, this time largely focusing on 2016's A Sailor's Guide to Earth, which won the Grammy for Country Album of the Year and was nominated for Album of the Year. This volume also includes "Jesus Boogie," originally performed by Simpson's first band, Sunday Valley, and two previously unreleased songs, "Tennessee" and "Hobo Cartoon," the latter of which was co-written with the incomparable Merle Haggard – who once said that Simpson was "about the only thing I've heard that was worth listening to in a long time."
"On Volume 2, we recorded everything I was too afraid to do on Volume 1," Simpson said. "It's hard to deny that this is a much more personal record. I was thinking about my kids, my grandfather, my wife." Vol. 2 was produced by David Ferguson and features Sierra Hall (mandolin, vocals), Mike Bub (bass), Stuart Duncan (fiddle, vocals), Scott Vestal (banjo, vocals), Tim O'Brien (guitar, vocals), Mark Howard (guitar, vocals), and Miles Miller (percussion, vocals).

Green Day are ready to flip off the famous, stupid and contagious, by putting a mirror to the present tense like only they can, with Saviors — an inspired new studio album to be released in early 2024.
Amazingly, Saviors represents Green Day's 14th studio album, yet somehow this enduring power trio -- Billie Joe Armstrong, Tré Cool & Mike Dirnt -- remain devoted to their defiant craft that has fueled their career-long destruction of every boundary bestowed on the genre, and landed 3 East Bay punks in the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame.
The album was recorded in both London and Los Angeles under the audacious ear and Rock prowess of Green Day's longtime friend & collaborator, GRAMMY® Award-winning producer Rob Cavallo.
A Light for Attracting Attention (IEX Yellow Vinyl)
Regular price $43.00 Save $-43.00"Not The Smile as in ha-ha-ha, more The Smile as in the guy who lies to you every day"... so speaks Thom Yorke on the inspiration behind the name of the new trio consisting of himself, his Radiohead bandmate Jonny Greenwood and drummer Tom Skinner of UK jazz outfit Sons of Kemet. The description is borne out by The Smile's acerbic first single "You Will Never Work In Television Again," a 2:48 blast of ragged, raw energy that moved The New York Times to rave: "Over a bruising 5/4 beat and flailing guitars climbing through three chords, Yorke snarl-sings his avenging fury at 'some gangster troll promising the moon' who'd devour 'all those beautiful young hopes and dreams,' and you can almost feel the spittle flying."
Additional singles "The Smoke", "Skrting the Surface" and "Pana-Vision" - which epically closed the series finale of hit show Peaky Blinders - followed with equal critical acclaim; all are collected on The Smile’s first album, A Light For Attracting Attention, produced by Nigel Godrich.
