1xLP, Gatefold Jacket, Black Vinyl, Protective Poly-lined Sleeves, Marketing Sticker
Rising multi-faceted artist Shaboozey is building a world of his own, carving a distinct lane in contemporary Country music. Born to parents of Nigerian descent and raised in the small town of Woodbridge, VA, Shaboozey grew up on an eclectic mix of music encompassing everything from Country and Blues to classic hip-hop and R&B. A true crossover artist, he set the stage for the “Modern Cowboy” takeover in 2024. Shaboozey’s epic run began in October 2023 with the release of “Let It Burn” which quickly engaged audiences and caught the attention of Beyoncé. The single organically led to Shaboozey being featured on Beyonceì’s culture shifting album COWBOY CARTER—the only artist with multiple appearances on the project. Shaboozey’s latest body of work, the critically acclaimed Where I’ve Been, Isn’t Where I’m Going, debuted in the top five of the Billboard 200 and was praised by NPR for being “the future of country music.” The album’s smash single “A Bar Song (Tipsy),” made history as Shaboozey became the first Black male artist to reach the top of both the Billboard Hot 100 and Billboard Hot Country Charts for multiple weeks. He also became the first artist in history to reach the top of the charts at 4 radio formats - Country, Top 40, Rhythm and Hot Adult Contemporary. The song is now the most consumed song of 2024 according to Luminate data, 4X RIAA-certified platinum, launched him to mainstream stardom and has become the “song of the summer” as described by Rolling Stone. With the meteoric rise of “A Bar Song (Tipsy),” Shaboozey and Beyonceì became the first Black artists to score back-to-back leaders in the Billboard Hot Country Songs’ 66-year history. True to his Virginia roots, Shaboozey aims to continue the region’s long-standing tradition of prolific creativity, this time by expanding the scope of contemporary country and introducing the sound to a global audience. In addition to his record breaking run on the charts, Shaboozey had standout performances on the Kelly Clarkson Show, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, and was the first Country Artist to perform at the BET Awards in 2024. Shaboozey surprised audiences at Stagecoach and Capital’s Summertime Ball, and shut down Nashville with his performance at the2024 CMA Fest. In the Fall, Shaboozey will embark on his SOLD OUT headline tour and has dates with Jelly Roll across America.

Ecailles De Lune
Regular price $27.98 Save $-27.98Alcest took an audible step towards their black metal roots with their sophomore full-length "Écailles de Lune" ("Moon Scales") without losing any of the trademarks that had evolved on their debut album "Souvenirs d'un Autre Monde". The French post-black metal pioneers created a sound of lucent, dreamlike quality and otherworldly beauty that has equally defined them and been refined by them ever since. In musical terms, Alcest amalgamate calm, semi-acoustic passages, repetitive, hypnotic patterns, and captivating melodies with outbursts of harsh riffing and aggressive drumming. The same contrasting and complementing effect is used by band founder and guitarist Neige for his vocals. Clean singing that is morphing back and forth between a warm and darker tone and a gentle higher pitch occasionally gets swept aside by despairing shrieks and furious black voices - only to flowingly return like an unstoppable tide. "For this album, I was especially inspired by the sea, the energy, and the exaltation that you can feel when you sit in front of the ocean at night," Neige explained about "Écailles de Lune"?. "The sea appears terribly fascinating, full of secrets, beautiful and frightening at the same time." Alcest's music has received many labels over the years including post-black metal, post-rock, shoegaze, and blackgaze to name some of the more commonly found terms. Yet whatever the band originally from Avignon and now based with Neige in Paris is called, their sound has always remained unique. Another typical element of their albums is a concept or theme that runs through the songs. On "Écailles de Lune" it is a tale of transformation. "This album's story is not a metaphor for death as it might appear to be", says Neige. "To me, it is about a man who decides to literally leave one world for another. It can rather be seen as a passage to another reality or another state of existence." For those, who want to follow in those footsteps and journey to another place, Alcest offer a key. Just close your eyes and listen to "Écailles de Lune" and you will be taken far away to a world of musical wonders and haunting beauty - but beware, even roses of the otherworld have thorns.

First Take
Regular price $24.98 Save $-24.98Limited silver colored vinyl LP pressing. The breakthrough debut by the iconic mistress of pop, jazz, soul, R&B, blues is unparalleled in the years since in it's genre blending, emotional power, and raw impact. Recorded over 10 hours in 1969 during the turmoil of the late 60s in the wake of the assassination of Martin Luther King, and before the general realization of the cultural shift that would become embodied in Woodstock, First Take is the work of a woman who was known as a child prodigy and would later earn the title of genius. The album opens with "Compared To What," a politically charged track that pre-dated Marvin Gaye's "What's Going On" (an incredible cover of which was released digitally by Flack in 2021), an emotional cover of "Angelitos Negros," a definitive interpretation of Leonard Cohen's "Hey, That's No Way To Say Goodbye" and the generation-defining interpretation of "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face," First Take is a tour-de-force record that encapsulates the emotional rollercoaster of living in what a Confucian Curse might identify as "interesting times."

Futures
Regular price $32.99 Save $-32.99Limited vinyl LP pressing of this 2004 album from the Arizona-based emo rock band. The guitars are stacked like thick diamonds, the vocals are way out front and buttressed by sweet harmonies in the choruses, the drums sound large, and the mix is loaded with sweetening from acoustic guitars, keyboards, and female vocals. In the process, they sacrificed the immediacy of the previous record, but they gained an epic and weighty feel. Jimmy Eat World exemplify all that is the modern radio rock sound. Singing and playing with a conviction and sincerity that will melt the heart of even the most stoic of listeners, they produce rousing, well-crafted anthems along the lines of Third Eye Blind at their roughest or a more polished Green Day.

12 Greatest Hits (Indie Exclusive)
Regular price $29.99 Save $-29.99PATSY CLINE / 12 GREATEST HITS / Indie Exclusive - Pink Vinyl. This album, first released in 1967, collects Patsy Cline's biggest hits. Producer Owen Bradley surrounds Cline's full-throated, emotionally charged vocals with lush, sophisticated arrangements that set the standard for Nashville's "countrypolitan" sound. The album consists of Cline's biggest hits between 1957 and 1963. The album contains Patsy Cline's signature hits including "Walkin' After Midnight," "I Fall to Pieces," "Crazy," "She's Got You," "Leavin' On Your Mind," "Sweet Dreams," and "Faded Love." The version for "Walkin' After Midnight" was pulled from the 1961 recordings rather than the original recording made in 1956 while Cline was still under her Four Star Records contract. "So Wrong" and "Strange," two lesser known hits, are also included. Several songs are included that were never hits on the American Country or Pop Top 100 Charts: "You're Stronger Than Me," "Why Can't He Be You" and "Back in Baby's Arms." A slower version of "You're Stronger Than Me" was a b-side to the single "So Wrong" back in 1962, but this collection contains Cline's initial recording of the song that was never released. The released version made it's way to #103 on the U.S. pop charts. "Why Can't He Be You?" was a b-side to the single "Heartaches" and reached the #107 position on the U.S. pop charts. "Back in Baby's Arms" was a #1 hit in Australia briefly in 1963.

Starship Syncopation
Regular price $31.98 Save $-31.98140g single jacket 1LP black vinyl of Cory Wong's latest album 'Starship Syncopation' with the Metropole Orkest. Collaboration in it's purest form is something that features the two artists involved while drawing something out of each other that they never would have been able to pull off on their own. This is why I love doing it. It keeps my creative mind spinning and inspired. I did a short run of concerts a few years back that featured the Metropole Orkest, and we've discussed working on a project together ever since. I've never seen an orchestra who is so versatile in being able to play classical and also groove based music. I knew that we'd be able to capture something really special if I utilized them alongside my band. When writing this album I knew that the hard hitting groove and funk elements needed to be represented, but in a new and unique way that I've not been able to explore on past projects. As someone who's eternally curious, I wrote and demoed about 25 songs to see what kind of space I could explore with 50 extra musicians in the band. The possibilities seemed endless until I realized that the arrangements could just weave in rather than being alongside. Once I started to write and arrange the music in a way that made it feel like ONE ensemble, it made itself very clear how to move forward and make the album. The recording process was great because after putting demos together I recorded my band and rhythm section in Minneapolis where I typically make my albums, then took it to the arranging phase. The demos had key lines and moments that I wanted the orchestra to cover, but I worked with other orchestral arrangers to help bring it to life (and to help me with the daunting task of writing out all of the music for 50+ musicians per song). The additional writers/featured artists/arrangers I worked with on this project really helped me hone in the vision further because it helped me further imagine all of the areas that the orchestra could be utilized. There's everything from hard hitting bangers like "Burning" and "Starship Syncopation" to emotional filmic sounding music like "Quotidian Fields (feat. Bruce Hornsby)". My goal with every album I make is to find new ways to discover parts of my artistry and voice; to grow and learn through the experiences. This album was an amazing opportunity to explore new territory for both Metropole Orkest and I.

Aqualung was the fourth studio album by prog rock band Jethro Tull. The album's "dour musings on faith and religion" have marked it as "one of the most cerebral albums ever to reach millions of rock listeners". Aqualung 's success marked a turning point in the band's career, who went on to become a major radio and touring act. Snow
Regular price $26.98 Save $-26.98The first notes of Snow are instantly transporting. The guitar is a scratchy, wooden memory laid over a moment of silence. The gently driving organ beat emerges and takes you with it, beginning the next enchanting journey from brother-sister duo, Angus and Julia Stone. "Running from the start, here we are again," Julia sings. "Running from the start, here we go again," comes her brother's reply. Plot-wise, Snow is yet another confident advance on a story which now accounts for over half a million album sales in Angus & Julia's homeland of Australia alone. The Sydney-born siblings produced and largely engineered it themselves, in Angus's cottage studio, Belafonté, in the Byron Bay hinterland.
For Fat Man
Regular price $24.98 Save $-24.98BOOM. It's the first thing you hear, the first thing you notice. A bass drum strike so hard and heavy, it's sound carries for blocks. In fact, you probably feel it before you actually hear it. BOOM BOOM. A bottom-end so deep, it let's everyone know: the band is on it's way. BOOM BOOM BOOM And before you can even see 'em, you can hear 'em, clearing the way: angel trumpets, devil trombones, rat-a-tat snares, pulsing tubas, and at the center of it all, the anchor, the rock, the gravity that keeps it all from spinning out and flying off into space, the bass drum. The steady beat that lays the foundation for every feat the brass band can accomplish. The beat that sets the slow and reverential pace for a walk of remembrance towards the cemetery. The beat that dictates the rhythm of the joyous dance on the corner. The beat that puts butts in motion. That bass drum beat is the heartbeat of New Orleans, the organ that pushes the blood through the arteries and veins of our city streets, and the biggest and strongest heart was Kerry "Fat Man" Hunter. When the bass drum was strapped over his shoulders and the mallets were in his hands, he let 'em know-loud, proud and undeniable was his style, and it's that style that's at the heart of For Fat Man, the new recording by the Preservation Hall Brass. The album was guided from inception to completion by Preservation Hall cornet player Kevin Louis, He wanted to capture what was going on at the Hall on Monday nights, and from the beginning, Fat Man was key to the recording. Equal parts remembrance, document, and party, For Fat Man wasn't meant to bear that title. Kerry's untimely passing during Mardi Gras is sadly but irrevocably now a part of the story of this record, which began as a celebration of where the brass band tradition at Preservation Hall was at and where it's going. And thank goodness, the story doesn't end. Life, like any good brass band, keeps moving. This record is a joyous link in the chain that is the story of New Orleans and it's music. It's for the ancestors, for the culture, for the people in the street, for those that mourn and those that celebrate and everybody somewhere in between. This record is the sound of that chain, that heartbeat, that rhythm. That sweet and thunderous BOOM. And it hits so hard that the Fat Man can probably hear it up in Heaven.
