Weezer doesn't look like rock stars, its amusing name doesn't evoke stadium-heights glories, and the group's lyrics don't exude confidence or flash. Limited vinyl LP repressing in gatefold jacket. Thriller is the sixth solo studio album by Michael Jackson. It was released by Epic Records on November 30, 1982, as the follow-up to Jackson's critically and commercially successful 1979 album Off The Wall. Thriller explores similar genres to those of Off The Wall, including pop, post-disco, rock and funk. Recording sessions took place on April to November 1982 at Westlake Recording Studios in Los Angeles with a production budget of $750, 000, assisted by producer Quincy Jones. Seven singles were released from the album, all of which reached the Top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100. In just over a year, Thriller became-and currently remains-the best-selling album of all time, with estimated sales of 65 million copies worldwide. It has become the first album ever to be certified 32 times multi-platinum for U.S. sales, marking more than 32 million sales shipped. The album won a record-breaking eight Grammy Awards in 1984, including for Album of the Year.

It took four years for The Lumineers to follow up their platinum-plus self-titled debut - which spent 46 weeks on the Billboard 200 and peaked at #2 - but Cleopatra is well worth the wait. During that time, The Lumineers - whose original members Wesley Schultz and Jeremiah Fraites founded the band in Ramsey, New Jersey back in 2002 - earned a pair of Grammy nominations (Best New Artist, Best Americana Album). Cleopatra proves Schultz and Fraites - along with cellist/vocalist Neyla Pekarek- are neither taking their good fortune for granted, nor sitting back on their laurels. With the help of producer Simone Felice (The Felice Brothers, The Avett Brothers), the man Wesley calls "our shaman," the band ensconced themselves in Clubhouse, a recording studio high atop a hill in rural Rhinebeck, N.Y., not far from Woodstock. The band had total artistic freedom in writing and recording the album, so Wesley and Jer pushed the envelope on experimental tracks like the stream-of-consciousness, purposely lo-fi "Sick in the Head," the yearning, piano chord build-up of "In the Light," or the closing orchestral instrumental, the aptly titled coda, "Patience." "We continue to make the kind of records we want to," says Wesley. "We believe in this music. It's a true labor of love. We just want to keep reaching more people with our songs." The highly anticipated The Slow Rush marks Tame Impala's (Kevin Parker) fourth full-length album overall and first studio effort since 2015's Grammy-nominated and BRIT Award-winning Currents. Recorded between Los Angeles and Parker's studio in his hometown of Fremantle, Australia, the twelve tracks were all recorded, produced and mixed by Parker himself.

The Slow Rush is Parker's deep dive into the oceans of time, conjuring the feeling of a lifetime in a lightning bolt, of major milestones whizzing by while you're looking at your phone, it's a paean to creation and destruction and the unending cycle of life. Parker told the New York Times that, "A lot of the songs carry this idea of time passing, of seeing your life flash before your eyes, being able to see clearly your life from this point onwards. I'm being swept by this notion of time passing. There's something really intoxicating about it."

Single "It Might Be Time" is your paranoid shadow snapping at your Achilles heel. It's the horrifying idea that your mojo's gone out for a walk and it may not be coming back. It's second guessing yourself, wondering 'have I still got it? Did I ever?' Your paranoid inner observer taunting you in your own denial, telling you to wake up and accept your salad days are over. A dynamic, bombastic burst of pungent prog-pop, "It Might Be Time" pulses on an insistent keyboard groove, punctuated by collisions of overblown drums flaying at the edges, the outward expression of a restless internal funk. A heady psych bomb threatening to implode, "It Might Be Time" is potent Tame Impala 2020.

The Slow Rush cover art was created in collaboration with photographer Neil Krug and features a symbol of humanity all but swallowed whole by the surrounding environment, as though in the blink of an eye.

Sublime 40oz. To Freedom on 2LP

Iconic Long Beach, CA reggae-punk/alternative-rock band Sublime was founded in 1988 by Bradley Nowell (vocals/guitar), Eric Wilson (bass/vocals) and Bud Gaugh (drums). Their self-produced debut 40 oz. to Freedom was released in 1992 via the band's label Skunk Records and has subsequently been certified double platinum. 2021 Grammy Award-Winner for Best Pop Solo Performance ("Watermelon Sugar")!

English singer/songwriter Harry Styles follows-up his platinum-certified, No. 1 charting 2017 solo debut with his highly anticipated second album, Fine Line. Kids See Ghosts is the eponymous debut from the hip hop duo of the same name featuring Kanye West and Kid Cudi and the third of five 7-track 2018 albums produced by West succeeding Pusha T's Daytona and his own ye and preceding Nas' Nasir and Teyana Taylor's K.T.S.E. Fans have been anticipating an album length project from the longtime collaborators for a decade now and the intriguing Kids See Ghosts is a cathartic and confessional affair with both artists documenting bouts of depression and struggles with drug abuse throughout. "We just have this chemistry that's undeniable, especially when we have to fight for it with each other," Cudi said. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is filled with great action, humor and performances, but it is also infused with a new mixed tape and soundtrack, a dynamic that resonated deeply with audiences in the first film as evidenced by the success of the soundtrack album. Once again, music plays an important role in the telling of the story in Volume 2. Director James Gunn explains, "We had Awesome Mix Volume 1 last time, and this time we have Awesome Mix Volume 2. It was so important that it's actually part of the film's title this time around. As most people know, Quill's mom made the first tape for a slightly younger boy, and she made the second tape for a slightly older boy. So, in many ways the songs reflect the story. The songs are a little bit deeper in some ways; a little bit less pop in some ways. Some of the choices are a bit more eclectic; some of the choices are a bit more popular. But we have a real amazing group of songs that, like in the first movie, I wrote into the script. They are a part of the storytelling. Each song is very specific to the scene where it's placed."

On the importance of the score, which often gets overlooked in a film heavy with popular songs, Gunn adds, "The one thing that is underappreciated is how important Tyler Bates' score is to the first film. We still use the score from the first movie while shooting this film and it doesn't get the respect it deserves because it gets so overshadowed by the soundtrack. There's some beautiful score on that first soundtrack, and I know that the music we've written for the second film is even better than what we did for the first film. Tyler Bates has absolutely outdone himself, and we're giving something very special to people with the music in this film, both the pop songs and the actual score."
