1989 Major Label Debut Newly Remastered from the Original Analog Tapes by Bob Ludwig

Louder Than Love, Soundgarden's second full-length studio album and major label debut (after the independently released, Grammy-nominated Ultramega OK), was originally released by A&M Records on September 5, 1989, and was the last to include bassist Hiro Yamamoto. Recorded with producer Terry Date at Seattle's London Bridge Studios, it announced the arrival of a major force on the emerging Pacific Northwest rock scene, later to include Nirvana and Pearl Jam.

The album peaked on the Billboard chart at #108, yielding the singles, "Loud Love," "Hands All Over" and the radio-only promo "Get on the Snake," the latter of which was featured in the 1989 movie Lost Angels. Guns N' Roses later paid tribute to the band by covering "Big Dumb Sex" on their 1993 album, The Spaghetti Incident? as part of a medley with T. Rex's "Buick MacKane." Q magazine named the album one of the "50 Heaviest Albums of All Time" in 2001.

Newly remastered from the original analog tapes by Bob Ludwig, UMe is pleased to reissue Louder Than Love on 180-gram vinyl in August 2016 complete with an accompanying digital download card for 320kbps MP4 AAC audio.

The Smiths' eclectic 1985 release finds the band branching out into rockabilly, post-punk and flashes of funk, all while refining the guitar pop of their debut. Produced by Morrissey and Johnny Marr, Meat Is Murder is the band's sole studio album to reach No. 1 on the U.K. charts. "The Headmaster Ritual" and "I Want the One I Can't Have" are fine elaborations on the formula the band introduced on their debut, while "Rusholme Ruffians" is an infectious take on rockabilly. There was no other British group making music quite like this in 1985.

Sophie Allison aka Soccer Mommy's debut Clean is an emotional album, heavy on themes of growth, isolation, and change, but balanced by a lightness of touch, and with hooks to spare. "Still Clean" is a stunner of an opening track, with the signature warmth of Allison's voice coupled with one of her best refrains. Her growth as a lyricist is most evident on "Cool," a sharply observed character study describing an aloof stoner girl, so cool and untouchable, and the agony she inflicts on her boyfriend. "Flaw" is the comedown from a song like "Cool." A melancholy ode to lovesick self-loathing that finds ecstasy in sadness. "Scorpio Rising" crystallizes these themes of identity, jealousy, and the desire to be someone else. Clean – the cohesive record Allison dreamt of making – is a true step forward, a strong and mature album from an artist just coming into her power.

2016 Vinyl Reissue of 1986 Classic!

Very few albums are regularly credited with changing people's lives. R.E.M.'s Lifes Rich Pageant is one of them. For a generation that came of age in the 80s, as well almost everyone that came within earshot of its contents, the Georgia band's 1986 landmark effort remains an utterly distinctive sonic blend of elegance and whimsy, seriousness and humor, artfulness and accessibility. It's here that R.E.M. evolves beyond its college-rock identity albeit retains its youthful innocence, here where Michael Stipe's enigmatic vocals finally attain the same level of prominence as the group's potent rhythm section.

Lyrically, R.E.M. hits upon more concrete themes, and while Stipe's occasionally mumbled singing still lacks clear enunciation – a trait that adds to the songs' mystique and surrounding textures – there's no mistaking the overt political and environmental sentiments in tunes such as the hit "Fall on Me" and gorgeous "Cuyahoga." Similarly, "Flowers of Guatemala" epitomizes R.E.M.'s hallmark ability to turn allegory into dreamy poetry, the counterpoint melodies, atmospheric guitar fills, and majestic bridges all enchanting devices of a band that manages to get its point across via spiritual performances and indirect suggestiveness.

Such qualities lie at the heart of Lifes Rich Pageant, on which subtle details and concerted purposes unite to make transcendent, lasting art. Bolder, more pronounced, refined, and immediate than that on previous efforts, Mike Mills' bass lines and Peter Buck's swelling guitar passages augment the hard-driving beats as well as Stipe's increasingly upfront vocals. Disposing with the intentional murkiness and subconscious approach of earlier records, R.E.M. goes in attack mode here, with even mellow numbers resonating with an attention-getting kick. It doesn't hurt that the band covers the field with expertly executed songs that comprise garage rock, jangle pop, rustic country, and more either.

Vinyl LP pressing. Rebel Yell is the second studio album by Billy Idol. It was released on 10 November 1983, by Chrysalis Records. After the release of his 1981 eponymous debut album, Idol continued his collaboration with Keith Forsey and Steve Stevens. The album was recorded at Electric Lady Studios in New York. Initially recording without a drummer, utilizing only the electronic drum machine LinnDrum, Forsey and Stevens later decided to hire Thommy Price to play drums on some of the songs. Musically, Rebel Yell is a rock album with a strong influence of new wave music. The cover sleeve and images were shot by Brian Griffin. Upon it's release, Rebel Yell a commercial success. In the United States, it peaked at #6 on the Billboard 200 and also peaked into the Top Ten in other countries, such as Canada, Germany and New Zealand.

Limited 180gm vinyl LP pressing. Animals is the tenth studio album by Pink Floyd, originally released in January 1977. It is a concept album that provides a scathing critique of the social-political conditions of late-70s Britain, and presents a marked change in musical style from their earlier work. Animals was recorded at the band's studio, Britannia Row, in London, but it's production was punctuated by the early signs of discord that three years later would culminate in keyboardist Richard Wright leaving the band. The album's cover image, a pig floating between two chimneys of the Battersea Power Station, was conceived by the band's bassist and lead songwriter Roger Waters, and was designed by long-time collaborator Storm Thorgerson of Hipgnosis. The album reached #2 on the UK Albums Chart. It was also a success in the United States, reaching #3 on the US Billboard 200.

Vinyl LP pressing. 2018 release from the critically acclaimed rockers. Modern rock n' roll band Greta Van Fleet to release highly anticipated album, Anthem Of The Peaceful Army. The album includes current single "When The Curtain Falls". Greta Van Fleet recently set a record as the first band in 15 years to hit #1 airplay at Active Rock radio with two consecutive singles. Greta Van Fleet formed in 2012 in Frankenmuth, Michigan. The band was signed to Lava Records in March 2017 and a month later, they released their debut studio EP, Black Smoke Rising.
