THE SANDMAN Original Series Soundtrack
Regular price $40.00 Save $-40.00Waxwork Records is thrilled to present THE SANDMAN Original Soundtrack Music From The Netflix Series by David Buckley. Based on the beloved award-winning DC comics series written by Neil Gaiman, The Sandman is a rich, character-driven blend of myth and dark fantasy woven together over the course of ten epic chapters following Dream’s many adventures.
There is another world that waits for all of us when we close our eyes and sleep — a place called the Dreaming, where The Sandman, Master of Dreams (Tom Sturridge), gives shape to all of our deepest fears and fantasies. But when Dream is unexpectedly captured and held prisoner for a century, his absence sets off a series of events that will change both the dreaming and waking worlds forever. To restore order, Dream must journey across different worlds and timelines to mend the mistakes he’s made during his vast existence, revisiting old friends and foes, and meeting new entities — both cosmic and human — along the way.
About the composer:
Born in England, David Buckley's first involvement with film music was as a cathedral choirboy performing on Peter Gabriel’s score for Martin Scorsese’s The Last Temptation of Christ. He continued his musical education at Cambridge University. In 2006, David moved to Los Angeles where he began collaborating with Harry Gregson-Williams on film scores, including Shrek The Third and Gone Baby Gone. He has written music for films including Wonder Woman, all the Fifty Shades movies, Big Eyes and American Hustle, and his music was featured in David O’Russell’s Joy. David was honored as a ‘Brit to Watch’ by BAFTA.
For television, David composed the music for the hit Scott Free/CBS drama series The Good Wife and continues to score the spin-off, now in its sixth season, The Good Fight (for which he received an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Title Music).
As well as film and TV, David has written the music for a number of games, including Batman Arkham Knight.
Buckley's soundtrack to THE SANDMAN is a lush and dynamic composition overflowing with analog synthesizers, full orchestra, sound design, and even usage of ancient instrumentation. It grants each character in the series their own theme, and effectively transports the listener to an otherworldly, dreamlike setting.

Unbreakable
Regular price $38.00 Save $-38.00Waxwork Records is proud to present the debut film score vinyl release to M. Night Shyamalan’s Unbreakable (2000).
Unbreakable, about a security guard named David Dunn (Bruce Willis) who becomes the sole survivor of a train wreck, posed the question of what would happen if superheroes were real. At the insistence of a mysterious, rare-comic-book collector named Elijah Price (Samuel L. Jackson), who suffers from a medical condition that makes his bones shatter on the slightest impact, Dunn comes to believe that he has super strength and is impervious to injury or illness. Not only that, he has the ability to see or sense the evil deeds of others simply by touching them.
The Unbreakable score, by James Newton Howard, was the second collaboration between Shyamalan and Howard, following their work together on The Sixth Sense. The Unbreakable score experience was unlike any the composer had had before. “Night sat there and storyboarded the whole movie for me,” Howard said. “I’ve never had a director do that for me. He wanted something that was very different, very distinctive, that immediately evoked the movie when people heard it.”
Howard and Shyamalan chose to simplify the score, and minimized the number of instruments (strings, trumpets and piano), with limited orchestrations. Some compositions were recorded in a converted church in London. “You could have recorded the same music in a studio in Los Angeles, and it would have been great, but there is something about the sound of that church studio,” Howard said. “It's definitely more misterioso.”
James Newton Howard is an American composer, conductor, and producer. He has scored more than 100 films and is the recipient of a Grammy Award, Emmy Award, and eight Academy Award nominations. His scores include The Fugitive, Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, and The Hunger Games film series.

Munsters (OST) (Green, Black, & White Vinyl, Deluxe Edition)
Regular price $48.00 Save $-48.00Waxwork Records is thrilled to present THE MUNSTERS Original Motion Picture Soundtrack from Rob Zombie’s brand-new film! Rob Zombie (House of 1000 Corpses, The Devil’s Rejects, The Lords Of Salem) digs up the origin story of everyone’s favorite family of monsters in the brand-new movie. Starring Sheri Moon Zombie as Lily, Jeff Daniel Phillips as Herman Munster, and Daniel Roebuck as The Count, THE MUNSTERS!
Lily is just your typical 150-year-old, lovelorn vampire looking for the man of her nightmares… that is until she lays eyes on Herman, a seven foot tall green experiment with a heart of gold. It’s love at first shock as these two ghouls fall fangs over feet in this crazy Transylvanian romance. Unfortunately, it’s not all smooth sailing in the cemetery as Lily’s father, The Count, has other plans for his beloved daughter’s future, and they don’t involve her bumbling beau, Herman. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll howl at the moon as The Munsters make their way to Mockingbird Lane!
The Munsters features new songs by Rob Zombie and a score by Zeuss. Waxwork Records is proud to present The Munsters as a deluxe double LP featuring spooky synth-driven jams such as “Disco Vampire” and “Microbat / Megabat”, movie dialogue, and the singles “It’s Zombo” and “I Got You Babe” with performances by Sheri Moon Zombie and Jeff Daniel Philips. The chilling score album features a whimsically malevolent performance by Zeuss thats pays homage to the original 1960s The Munsters television series. Bells, xylophone, horns, claves, wood blocks, and wooden guiro, are paired with synthesizers and spine-chilling choir choruses to build an eerie and cooky good time!
The deluxe double LP includes 180 gram “Herman” and “Lily” colored vinyl, heavyweight gatefold jackets with matte satin coating, exclusive liner notes by Rob Zombie, a 24 page booklet, a 12”x12” art print, printed inner sleeves, new artwork by Graham Humphreys, and more!

Firestarter (Original Soundtrack) (Colored Vinyl, Yellow, White)
Regular price $26.00 Save $-26.00The horror master John Carpenter is back with his Halloween franchise
collaborators Daniel Davies and Cody Carpenter for their infectious new soundtrack to the 2022 adaptation of Stephen King's Firestarter. This marks the first official soundtrack that the team has composed together outside of the Halloween franchise and their inspiration and evolution as a creative team is on full display. The film is a new take on the thriller examining a girl with extraordinary pyrokinetic powers and her fight to protect her family and herself from sinister forces that seek to capture and control her. The film releases theatrically on May 13th, 2022 and stars Zac Efron, Sydney Lemmon, Ryan Kiera, is directed by Keith Thomas (The Vigil) and created by the producers of The Invisible Man. The story has become a classic and the intense nature of the film creates a canvas for a dynamic soundtrack. The Firestarter soundtrack utilizes some of the best elements of Carpenter's famous musical repertoire and charts exciting new territory. The tracks range from fist pumping sci-fi anthems to slow reverb drenched piano ballads and each utilizes a variety of sonic applications. Skulking beats, skittering synths, crushing guitars and an ever-lurking echo come together to create an album that is atmospheric and also deeply melodic, cohesive and eclectic. These three musicians are all working in the peak of their individual and collaborative creativity and this soundtrack further solidifies them as masters of the craft.

Field Of Dreams (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack)
Regular price $37.00 Save $-37.00We are always on the lookout for soundtracks to reissue on LP, especially from the late '80s/early '90s when labels were barely releasing vinyl if at all. But we'd sort of hit a rough patch, a slump if you will, when every title we pursued was either already taken or just plain unavailable. Then, one night as we were fast asleep, we were awakened by a voice. "If you press it, they will come." Huh? Press what? Who will come? Then it hit us... could it possibly be true that James Horner's classic soundtrack to Field of Dreams has not been reissued on vinyl?! We did a little "scouting" around, and sure enough... this record hasn't been available since it's very limited original release back in 1989! So this is a rookie reissue, and quite the phenom at that (just like you, Moonlight Graham!), pressed in green and yellow "cornfield" vinyl, and featuring James Horner's amazing, spine-tingling score. Boyz N The Hood (Various Artists)
Regular price $29.00 Save $-29.00Boyz N The Hood is the critically acclaimed story of three friends growing up in a South Central Los Angeles neighborhood, and of street life where friendship, pain, danger and love combine to form reality. "The Hood" is a place where drive-by shootings and unemployment are rampant. But it is also a place where harmony coexists with adversity, especially for three young men growing up there: Doughboy (Ice Cube), an unambitious drug dealer; his brother Ricky (Morris Chestnut), a college-bound teenage father; and Ricky's best friend Tre (Cuba Gooding, Jr.), who aspires to a brighter future beyond "The Hood." In a world where a trip to the store can end in death, the friends have diverse reactions to their bleak surroundings. Tre's resolve is strengthened by a strong father (Larry Fishburne) who keeps him on the right track. But the lessons Tre learns are put to the ultimate test when tragedy strikes close to home, and violence seems like the only recourse. The Oscar-nominated 1991 film's gold-certified soundtrack peaked at No. 12 on the Billboard 200 and is comprised of '90s hip-hop (Ice Cube, 2 Live Crew) and R&B (Tevin Campbell, Tony! Toni! Toné!) plus a few score pieces from Quincy Jones and Stanley Clarke.

Of the many wonderful blaxpoitation soundtracks to emerge during the early '70s, SHAFT certainly deserves mention as not only one of the most lasting but also one of the most successful. Isaac Hayes was undoubtedly one of the era's most accomplished soul artists, and with 'Theme from Shaft,' he delivered an anthem just as ambitious and revered as the film itself, a song that has only grown more treasured over the years, after having been an enormously popular hit at the time of it's release. Shaft still remains a powerful record; one of Hayes' pinnacle moments for sure.
