With his first new album in 36 years, Reboot, Ronnie Foster returns to Blue Note Records 50 years after releasing his debut album, Two Headed Freap, on the label in 1972. Reboot is a collection of originals and covers that mark a fresh start for Foster who has whipped up an omnidirectional brew of Hammond Organ grooves that pay homage to the past but more often reflect Ronnie's restlessness for ushering in the new. The album is dedicated to the memory of his longtime friend Dr. Lonnie Smith.

Riviera '76 – The Godfather of Fusion is back with newly discovered material from the French Radio Archives. This Festival was the Rock/Jazz "Woodstock" of 1976 in Le Castellet, France. The Eleventh House was a superstar jazz fusion group at this time led by the guitarist Larry Coryell. This material has never been released on a physical format before. This single vinyl package includes an OBI side spine, full color printed inner sleeve and a beautiful Crystal Clear Color vinyl LP.

The third of three crucial Verlaines albums recorded in the 1980s released by Flying Nun. Featuring some of Graeme Downes' finest compositions in the form of This Train, Whatever You Run Into (covered by Ryan Adams) and Anniversary, Some Disenchanted Evening represents a contrast to predecessor Bird Dog. "With its tongue in cheek title, The Best of Band X (there had been no previous Band X releases) snuck into the record racks in 1976, the first the world was to hear from musician/producer/writer/arranger (and later all-American hero) Craig Peyton. Fitting in somewhere between contemporaries like Weather Report, Headhunters and Stone Alliance, Craig Peyton definitely ploughed his own musical furrow even in an exceptionally fertile era. Originally a jazz drummer and vibraphonist, Craig was interested in utilizing the potential of some of the new synthesizers that were coming onto the market in that era, (beating even Stevie Wonder to the use of the Fairlight keyboard). Band X consisted of Alan Grzyb, Victor Preston and Joey Bellomo alongside their auteur, Craig Peyton. Despite being, broadly speaking, ‘jazz’, Craig’s music had a synthetic feel and, like many musical conceptions of the future, sounds decidedly retro-cool today. Drummer Bellomo contributed synthesizer work, and horn-player Grzyb also contributed keyboards. Bass-man Preston also played trombone, and alongside Grzyb’s bassoon and clarinet and the assorted electronics, it was not your standard jazz ensemble. Quirky song titles (some of which wouldn’t sound out of place on a prog-rock album from the same time) confirm the image we have of a musical maverick. Much of the current demand for this very hard to find album owes itself to DJ Amir’s championing of the track Home: many have remarked on its similarity to the classic Steely Dan sound of the same era; other reference points might be Shuggie Otis and Michael Franks. It’s a poignant, floaty and ultimately unique song, with Craig providing the ‘blue-eyed’ vocal, as he does on the other vocal track Afterthought, which also sounds like it could’ve happily lived alongside Shuggie’s Inspiration Information album. A vocal and a lively slice of sequencer space-funk with some truly trippy keyboard work, here’s another track with loads of potential for contemporary appreciation."

The Ultramagnetic MC's had a huge influence on rap/hip-hop with their groundbreaking album Critical Beatdown. After a run of acclaimed albums released via New Zealand’s Flying Nun label through the 1980’s, The Verlaines signed a deal with Los Angeles based Slash Records. By mid 1992 the band were regrouping after touring in support of Ready To Fly, their first album with their new label. Second guitarist and vocalist Paul Winders joined and new drummer Darren Stedman was recruited. With Graeme Downes and Mike Stoodley, they began rehearsals at home in Dunedin, New Zealand, working on a new set of songs that would become Way Out Where. The resulting set of songs was a bigger, denser and more muscular sounding recording compared to earlier efforts, with exhilarating distorted guitars and drums and vocals to the fore. Chicarelli pushed the band in more of a rock direction, typified by songs like the rollicking This Valentine, the monolith Blanket Over The Sky, the pop perfection of Lucky In My Dreams, and the stirring, now classic Dirge. On the tail of these sessions Chicarelli joined the band in Sydney, Australia where they cut their contribution to the No Alternative compilation, Heavy 33. Transparent Black color vinyl Way Out Where has never been issued on vinyl.

When Sun Records moved to Nashville in 1969, the legendary label got hip to the new era. The foundational tracks from Memphis were merged with the late-60s psychedelic sounds of Shelby Singleton’s eclectic catalog. The Gentrys, The Jesters, and Randy and The Radiants from Memphis join groovy gems from bands like Lazarus, Berkeley Kites, Free Reign, and more. Curated with the collector in mind, era favorites like The United Notions are paired with never-before-released tracks from unheard bands like The Deltas. Ty Segall meets a new non-rock challenge head-on; soundtrack music for the documentary film Whirlybird. A variety of synth sounds, electric keyboards, drums, percussion and saxophone (and yeah, a few guitars) form a shifting impressionist counterpart, instrumental music that dialogues with and serves to frame the film’s compulsive themes and images.

For more than 3 decades saxophonist Kenny Garrett has been on the forefront of the most adventurous and creative collaborations in jazz, having performed with generations of innovators such as Miles Davis, Art Blakey, Freddie Hubbard and more. The living legend charts yet another path in his illustrious career with the release of his first ever electronic album, an avenue to explore new sounds.

Twenty-five years into a music career that has seen five Grammy nominations, two RIAA certified Gold records and, most recently, the publication of 'Desolation: A Heavy Metal Memoir', an honest reflection on his life in music and beyond, Mark Morton's creative energy is at an all-time high. Over the course of two decades spent building a worldwide audience as guitarist and songwriter for Lamb of God, Morton's musical ambitions were steadily evolving. While enjoying Lamb of God's success in the heavy metal world, there were still elements of his songwriting that weren't finding their way to the surface - the result being, first, 2019's 'Anesthetic', an album featuring a host of high-profile artists, including late Linkin Park vocalist Chester Bennington, and now 'Without The Pain', his second solo outing and a paean to his longstanding love of southern rock As a young child in the '70s and '80s, southern rock music was a mainstay of Morton's small town Virginia upbringing. The sounds of Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Allman Brothers Band, Molly Hatchet, Blackfoot and more helped to shape the fledgling musician's understanding of what would eventually become his lifelong passion for rock guitar. 'Without The Pain' wasn't a project Morton took on alone. Produced by longtime collaborator Josh Wilbur, the album features a world class list of contributors, including some of Americana, rock and country's biggest names Outlaw country star Cody Jinks delivers two powerful songs, including the haunting 'Brother'; Blackberry Smoke frontman Charlie Starr teams up with Americana superstar Jason Isbell on 'Come December', while Jaren Johnston (The Cadillac Three) delivers an attitude packed performance on opening track, 'Hell & Back'. Meanwhile, country hitmaker Travis Denning - a Georgia-born artist with a previous No. 1 on the US country airplay chart - collaborates on two moving numbers, both featuring subtle and delicate guitar textures that showcase a different dimension of Morton's songwriting. Troy Sanders (Mastodon) steps up to sing 'Nocturnal Sun', a thunderous doom dirge and the heaviest track on the album, while blues guitar phenomenon Tyler Bryant teams up with Morton for a fireworks-filled guitar duel on throwback psychedelic blues romp, 'Forever In The Light'. The album also features a choice Lynyrd Skynyrd cover, 'The Needle And The Spoon', purposefully delivered by Neil Fallon (Clutch) and released first, making it clear just where the heart of the project lies. Finally, rounding things off, there's a storming anthemic rocker fronted by Matt James of Blacktop Mojo, also the album's title track, and James will be fronting the live band when it takes to the road in 2025. Other featured players include guitar greats Grace Bowers and Jared James Nichols, while joining Morton to make up 'Without The Pain's core studio band are bassist Tim Lefebrve (David Bowie, Tedeschi Trucks Band), drummer Gary Novak (Allan Holdsworth, Alanis Morrissette) and keyboardist Adam MacDougall (The Black Crowes, Macy Gray).
