After twenty-odd years in the major label system, the band returned to their indie roots and signed with ANTI- Records and they're back with a brand-new eleventh album titled, I Built You A Tower out June 5th. I Built You A Tower is the sound of loss, compartmentalization, and then grief bursting out from the seams. It's also the sound of the growth that comes after falling apart, of acknowledging pain without letting it destroy you. "I see the tower existing on your emotional horizon," Ben Gibbard states. "You don't always have to look at what's inside it, but it's a reminder that it happened. You know it's there. You have to face it."   The band will tour in support of the new album, including a play at Outside Lands. This comes on the heels of a historic, sold-out global tour marking the 20th anniversary of the album Transatlanticism, and the release of their universally acclaimed, 2022's Asphalt Meadow.

Bon Iver's debut full-length For Emma, Forever Ago made major waves in critics' circles based on the strength of an early artist-pressed advance CD and a couple awe-inspiring sets at CMJ back in October 2007. The New York Times called it "irresistible" and Pitchfork stamped it's early review of the album with a Recommended tag. For those of you hiding away in a cabin of your own, it's time that you hear the story, and more importantly, the music.

After thirteen years of silence from the compound, during which anticipation has grown day by day, Boards of Canada finally return. Inferno retains their signature melodies and atmospheres, drawing on the esoteric influences explored in Societas X Tape (their 2019 NTS mix for Warp Records' 30th anniversary) and the darker ambience introduced on Tomorrow's Harvest, further deepened by an expanded role for speech soundbites.

Spanning seventy minutes, the new album is available on special edition limited red translucent 2LP vinyl in triple gatefold sleeve with a 16-page booklet, black 2LP vinyl and CD with 20-page booklet.

Kill Rock Stars is proud to re-issue Roman Candle, Elliott Smiths first solo album, originally released on Portlands Cavity Search Records in 1994. Roman Candle is now remastered for the re-release by Roger Seibel (SAE) and Larry Crane, editor of Tape Op Magazine and archivist for Elliott's family. Roman Candle had quite an impact on Slim Moon, Kill Rock Stars'founder: "In 1994, I had been asked to be on this five-person solo-act tour called Pop Chord with Tammy Watson, Carrie Akre, Sean Croghan and Elliott Smith. The first night at the Crocodile in Seattle, I didn't pay too much attention and people talked all thru Elliott's set. Sean Croghan got up next and said "all of you people who just talked through Elliott's set are bummed because you just missed something very, very special." The next night of the tour, at The Bottom Of The Hill in San Francisco, I listened very closely to Elliott's set, and it was basically one of those lifechanging moments. Instead of watching the rest of the performers, I went out to the tour van and popped Roman Candle into the player, and listened to it on endless repeat for the rest of the evening and beyond. It completely blew my mind. I have never heard music as heartwrenchingly, gut-checkingly honest, intimate, and wise - before or since."

Indie-rock darlings the Meat Puppets didn't miss a meat, er, beat with their move from SST to the major London label and their release of 1991's Forbidden Places. In fact, the album arguably represented a step up from their late-period work at SST, displaying that offhandedly brilliant charm that won the band so many fans in the first place. The album opener "Sam" is a frenzied rocker that recalls the early days with maniacal, "auctioneer"-style vocals, and the album closing, pickin' and spinnin' instrumental "Six Gallon Pie" is equally breakneck in tempo and dazzling in execution. "No Longer Gone" offers a hit of that desert mysticism that leavened albums like Meat Puppets II and Up on the Sun, and "Whirlpool" showcases Curt Kirkwood's underrated guitar chops. In short, an essential piece of the Puppets' catalog, finally widely available at retail on vinyl for the first time since it's release 35 years ago. W.A.S.P.'s eponymous debut album remastered at half-speed and reissued on exclusive limited edition clear vinyl! • W.A.S.P. first exploded onto a raucous 80's metal scene in 1984 with their genre-defining eponymous debut album W.A.S.P. With an unwavering swagger, a singular image and their fair share of controversy to boot, W.A.S.P quickly established themselves as a force to be reckoned with in the world of heavy metal. Recorded at Los Angeles' Record Plant in the summer of 1984 and produced/co-produced by frontman Blackie Lawless and Shrapnel Records founder Mike Varney respectively, W.A.S.P. was the first, and remains one of the finest, examples of a band with little regard for the rules, an outlaw attitude and the razor-sharp music to back it all up.

Shooter Jennings returns with his 7th studio LP with Countach (for Giorgio). Printed on Neon Violet vinyl, Countach features guest appearances from modern folk songstress Brandi Carlile, Antichrist Superstar Marilyn Manson, country-rock pioneer Steve Young and even Lord British himself, computer game leviathan Richard Garriott.

Robert Johnson was an American blues musician whose 1937 and 1937 recordings heavily influenced many, many future generations of artists. Despite the fact his recording career spanned a mere seven months, he is universally recognised as a master of the Delta blues style, one of the earliest-known styles of blues emerging from the Mississippi delta in the early twentieth century. This second compilation collects sixteen recordings previously available on the 78rpm format and includes recordings of two Johnson songs that have since become blues standards: "Sweet Home Chicago" and "I Believe I'll Dust My Broom." In contrast to the deeply emotive songs released on the 1961 album, many of the tracks on this volume display Johnson's lighter side. In 2003 the record was ranked #424 on Rolling Stone's list of 500 Greatest Albums of All Time. Whether he really needed to sell his soul to the devil at the crossroads to reach these great heights, we'll never know... King Of The Delta Blues Singers, Volume II is available as a limited edition of 1000 individually numbered copies on translucent yellow coloured vinyl and includes an insert with liner notes by Pete Welding.

Indie exclusive Tye Dye Splash colored vinyl. Mannequin Pussy's music feels like a resilient and galvanizing shout that demands to be heard. Across four albums, the Philadelphia rock band that consists of Colins "Bear" Regisford (bass, vocals), Kaleen Reading (drums, percussion), Maxine Steen (guitar, synths), and Marisa Dabice (guitar, vocals) has made cathartic tunes about despairing times. "There's just so much constantly going on that feels intentionally evil that trying to make something beautiful feels like a radical act," says Dabice. "The ethos of this band has always been to bring people together."

Their latest album, I Got Heaven, is the band's most fully realized recording yet. Over ten ambitious tracks which abruptly turn from searing punk to inviting alternative pop, the album is deeply concerned with desire, the power in being alone, and how to live in an unfeeling and unkind world. It's a document of a band doubling down on their unshakable bond to make something furious, thrilling, and wholly alive.
