Original Album Plus Bonus Tracks!

The historic 1957 Verve release Getz Meets Mulligan In Hi-Fi is the first album on which Stan Getz and Gerry Mulligan performed as soloists with no other horns. Getz picked the fine rhythm section with Mulligan's approval: Lou Levy on piano, Stan Levey on drums, and Ray Brown on bass. Another treat is that Mulligan suggested that they trade horns, so you find that on side one of the album Getz plays baritonoe and Mulligan plays tenor and on the other side they reversed the procedure so that each played his primary instrument. This reissue from Vinyl Passion augments the original album with a pair of bonus tracks ("Scrapple From The Apple," "I Didn't Know What Time It Was").
