"I was thinking about how there are different masks that we wear that represent different sides of us," she says of the album's theme. "None of the masks are solely us, but they're all us. On this record, there's the lonely girl, the blissful girl, the new wife, the girl that's missing her mom, the angry girl, the sarcastic girl, the ‘60s-sequined Cruella de Vil with the beehive, the shy girl, the life of the party, the winner, the loser – they're all characters on this record. None of them alone are me, but the golden hour is when they all come together and you see me as a whole."
Golden Hour was the big winner at the 2019 Grammy Awards taking home hardware for Album of the Year, Best Country Album, Best County Solo Performance ("Butterflies") and Best Country Song ("Space Cowboy"). The last time a country album won Album Of The Year wasFearlessby Taylor Swift ten years prior in 2009.
Limit one per customer. Double vinyl LP pressing. When the prevailing guitar jingle of 'Mr. Jones' cascaded over radio in the early 90s, it was a sure sign that the Counting Crows were a musical force to be reckoned with. Their 1993 debut album, August and Everything After, burst at the seams with both dominant pop harmonies and rich, hearty ballads, all thanks to lead singer Adam Duritz. The lone guitar work of 'Mr. Jones' coupled with the sweet, in-front pull of Duritz's voice kicked off the album in full force. The album cover depicts handwritten lyrics to a song called "August and Everything After", but the band decided against featuring the song on the album of the same name; it was not until over a decade later that it was played as part of one of their live concerts.
Pop's most promising and exciting new artist Billie Eilishreleases her highly-anticipated and acclaimed debut EP Don't Smile At Me. The stellar 8-track collection was produced by the 15-year-old's 19-year-old brother Finneas O'Connell. Opening track, "Copycat" is a wonderfully moody pop gem and fan favorite that has been described as "smoldering" and "hip-hop influenced" by Billboard Magazine. Additional songs include "Party Favor," a delightful ditty which Billie explains is, "about breaking up with someone in a voicemail...on their birthday," and "Hostage," a song that explores the unhealthy side of love.

Black Pumas is led by the creative partnership between Grammy Award-winning guitarist/producer Adrian Quesada and songwriter Eric Burton. The latter is a relative newcomer who arrived in Austin in 2015 after busking his way across the country from Los Angeles, while Quesada has a storied reputation for playing in bands like Grupo Fantasma and Brownout. After the two connected via friends in the Austin scene, they began to collaborate on a new sound that transmutes soul into something idiosyncratically modern.
Reminiscent of Ghostface Killah and Motown in equal measure, this original sound ensured that Black Pumas'weekly residency at C-Boys quickly became "the hottest party in town" (Austin-American Statesman). Produced by Quesada in his home studio and colored by Burton's dark imagery and haunting vocals, their eponymous debut is equally as indebted to East Coast hip-hop as it is to classic funk and soul, resulting in a project that is of the moment rather than retro. From the roiling, solar eclipse-inspired noir of "Black Moon Rising" to the ponderous yet epic "Oct 33," it's a stunner.

Lauryn Hill, this generation’s most powerful voice, exposes herself and her soul inThe Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, her classic 1998 solo debut. The album, written, produced, and arranged by Hill, is a true reflection of life, love, pain and pure joy. Often personal and consistently universal in its subject, the 16-song offering meets and exceeds expectations on every level. True lyrics, soul-drenched vocals, and club-banging beats are only half the story. Ms. Hill’s uncommonly inventive orchestration of live instruments brings music back to hip hop.
Lead single, “Doo Wop (That Thing),” was a pop, R&B, and rap hit and features Lauryn in all her glory - masterfully blending the message and the music, a true testament to her genius. Introducing “To Zion (The Joy Of My World)” is Carlos Santana’s unmistakable strumming. Inspiringly beautiful and spiritually uplifting, this ballad is simply a masterpiece. On “I Used To Love Him,” Lauryn is accompanied by soultress Mary J. Blige, and the result is a vocal testimony of heartbreak and deliverance.
“Every Ghetto, Every City” is a Stevie Wonder-esque trip into Lauryn’s New Jersey upbringing, proving that happiness, struggle and growth are universal. D’Angelo joins Lauryn on “Nothing Even Matters,” a sensuous croonfest that will light the dimmest of fires. And the hits don’t stop...The Miseducation of Lauryn Hillis an album no musical library is complete without. In 1999, the album garnered no less than 10 Grammy nominations at the 41st Grammy Awards and Hill's 5 wins made her the first female to receive that many in one night.

The digitally remastered edition of Metallica ...And Justice for All is the fourth studio album by the heavy metal icons, originally released on August 25, 1988. It was the first Metallica studio album to feature bassist Jason Newsted after the death of Cliff Burton in 1986. ...And Justice for All was recorded in early 1988 at One on One Recording Studios in Los Angeles. It features long and complex songs, fast tempos, and few verse-chorus structures. The lyrics feature themes of political and legal injustice seen through the prisms of censorship, war, and nuclear brinkmanship... And Justice for All was acclaimed by music critics. It was included in The Village Voice's annual Pazz & Jop critics' poll of the year's best albums, and the single "One" earned Metallica its first Grammy Award (and the first-ever in the Best Metal Performance category) in 1990. Vinyl LP pressing. In 2011, an eponymous, self-recorded EP led to touring, and before long The Lumineers started attracting devout fans. They're drawn by songs like "Ho Hey" and "Stubborn Love," Americana-inflected barn burners in the vein of the Avett Brothers and Mumford & Sons. The roots revival of the last few yeas has primed listeners for a new generation of rustic, heart-on-the-sleeve music. The Lumineers walk that line with an unerring gift for timeless melodies and soul-stirring lyrics.

The highly anticipatedThe Slow RushmarksTame Impala's(Kevin Parker) fourth full-length album overall and first studio effort since 2015's Grammy-nominated and BRIT Award-winningCurrents. Recorded between Los Angeles and Parker's studio in his hometown of Fremantle, Australia, the twelve tracks were all recorded, produced and mixed by Parker himself.
The Slow Rushis Parker's deep dive into the oceans of time, conjuring the feeling of a lifetime in a lightning bolt, of major milestones whizzing by while you're looking at your phone, it's a paean to creation and destruction and the unending cycle of life. Parker told theNew York Timesthat, "A lot of the songs carry this idea of time passing, of seeing your life flash before your eyes, being able to see clearly your life from this point onwards. I'm being swept by this notion of time passing. There's something really intoxicating about it."
Single "It Might Be Time" is your paranoid shadow snapping at your Achilles heel. It's the horrifying idea that your mojo's gone out for a walk and it may not be coming back. It's second guessing yourself, wondering 'have I still got it? Did I ever?' Your paranoid inner observer taunting you in your own denial, telling you to wake up and accept your salad days are over. A dynamic, bombastic burst of pungent prog-pop, "It Might Be Time" pulses on an insistent keyboard groove, punctuated by collisions of overblown drums flaying at the edges, the outward expression of a restless internal funk. A heady psych bomb threatening to implode, "It Might Be Time" is potentTame Impala2020.
The Slow Rushcover art was created in collaboration with photographerNeil Krugand features a symbol of humanity all but swallowed whole by the surrounding environment, as though in the blink of an eye.
XL Recordings Proudly Presents the Radiohead Album Catalog on Vinyl in 2016!
Known for their explorative and restless sound, taking influence from old style rock like The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Neil Young and Pink Floyd as well as from electronica and hip hop, each ofRadiohead'salbums marks a cornerstone in their musical evolution. The band broke new ground once again in 2007 when their seventh studio albumIn Rainbowswas originally released as a pay-what-you-want download. The way it was issued may have been experimental, but the album itself proved to one of their most consistent efforts in years. Accessible, warm, and romantic, the 7x Grammy nominated In Rainbowsis a master class in uncomplicated beauty and it finds the band embracing pop melodies and tangible instrumentation in, what has become increasingly rare forRadiohead, a very human way.

The Jimi Hendrix Experience'sAre You Experiencedis right up there with Elvis Presley as one of the most stunning and influential debut rock albums of all time. This is a record rooted in blues, soul, rock & roll and pop but with the psychedelic and progressive sound of 1967. Hendrix formed a trademark for himself here with his creative use of controlled distortion, feedback and fuzz, essentially fashioning a new musical form for guitarists along the way. Many of the most popular tracks from Jimi's short career are on this album, from the psychedelic barrage of "Foxey Lady," "Purple Haze" and "Manic Depression," the bluesy "Hey Joe," right down to the gentle rocking flow of "The Wind Cries Mary."
Limited double vinyl LP pressing includes music on sides A, B and C and laser etching on side D. The Black Parade, My Chemical Romance's follow-up to it's 2004 platinum major-label debut Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge, 'is way more dramatic, way more theatrical, completely over the top, borderline psychotic,' says Gerard Way. 'It's the most pure, intense thing we've ever been involved in.' Produced by Rob Cavallo (Green Day), the album is a celebration of love and death and darkness. Join The Black Parade.
Limited 180gm vinyl LP pressing. Digitally remastered edition of Metallica's 1983 debut album. Kill 'Em All is regarded as a groundbreaking album for thrash metal because of its precise musicianship, which fuses New Wave of British Heavy Metal riffs with hardcore punk tempos. Its musical approach and lyrics were markedly different from rock's mainstream of the early ‘80s and inspired a number of bands who followed in similar manner. Metallica is easily one of the best, most influential heavy metal band of the '80s. Responsible for bringing the genre back to Earth, the bandmates looked and talked like they were from the street, shunning the usual rockstar games of metal musicians during the early '80s. They expanded the limits of thrash, using speed and volume not for their own sake, but to enhance their intricately structured compositions.
Limited opaque red colored vinyl LP pressing. 2022 release. With Laurel Hell, Mitski cements her reputation as an artist in possession of such power - capable of using her talent to perform the alchemy that turns our most savage and alienated experiences into the very elixir that cures them. Her critically beloved last album, Be the Cowboy, built on the breakout acclaim of 2016's Puberty 2 and launched her from cult favorite to indie star. She ascended amid a fever of national division, and the grind of touring and pitfalls of increased visibility influenced her music as much as her spirit. Like the mountain laurels for this new album is named, public perception, like the intoxicating prism of the internet, can offer an alluring façade that obscures a deadly trap-one that tightens the more you struggle. Exhausted by this warped mirror, and our addiction to false binaries, she began writing songs that stripped away the masks and revealed the complex and often contradictory realities behind them. She wrote many of these songs during or before 2018, while the album finished mixing in May 2021. It is the longest span of time Mitski has ever spent on a record, and a process that concluded amid a radically changed world. She recorded Laurel Hell with her longtime producer Patrick Hyland throughout the isolation of a global pandemic, during which some of the songs "slowly took on new forms and meanings, like seed to flower." Sometimes it's hard to see the change when you're the agent of it, but for the lucky rest of us, Mitski has written a soundtrack for transformation, a map to the place where vulnerability and resilience, sorrow and delight, error and transcendence can all sit within our humanity, can all be seen as worthy of acknowledgment, and ultimately, love.
Lake Placid, NY native Lana Del Rey is a throwback singer/songwriter whose stage name combines that of the late Hollywood actress Lana Turner and the Ford Del Rey. Pop's newest femme fatale calls herself the "gangsta Nancy Sinatra" and cites Kurt Cobain, Thomas Newman and Bruce Springsteen as musical influences. She released an EP entitled Kill Kill in 2009 under the name Lizzy Grant and also recorded a full-length album on an independent label with producer David Kahne, which was released for a brief time before it was pulled due to lack of label support. Born To Die is her highly anticipated official debut release on Interscope Records featuring the viral firestorm hits "Video Games" and "Blue Jeans." Her much talked about appearance on Saturday Night Live on January 15, 2012 marked the first artist since Natalie Imbruglia in 1998 to perform before the release of her debut album.
