Lizzy McAlpine gained recognition when she began to share original songs and covers on Soundcloud and YouTube. Sweet Tooth - Pink in Green
Regular price $28.00 Save $-28.00Pink in Green Color-in-Color vinyl. Sweet Tooth, which arrives three years after Mom Jeans' second LP Puppy Love, was recorded in New Jersey at The Barber Shop Studios with producer Brett Romnes (The Front Bottoms, Oso Oso, Dogleg). Butler says it's the first time the band had a proper, top-to-bottom studio experience, which meant no cutting corners, and an ability to chase a previously-unattainable level of Polish. Tyler Povanda (Save Face) and Kory Gregory (Prince Daddy & the Hyena) contributed vocals to the record.
The music on Sweet Tooth marked a departure for Butler from his usual writing style. "I fell in love with bands like Modern Baseball and Front Bottoms and Joyce Manor, so I wanted to write songs like that," says Butler. "That's what our first two records were: me trying to stay in that box, cause I think that's where I felt comfortable." Sweet Tooth feels like an eternal dessert-before-dinner, a rejection of the idea that we need to suffer before we get to the good stuff. You've got one life. Indulge your Sweet Tooth.

Puberty 2 (White Vinyl)
Regular price $25.00 Save $-25.00Vinyl LP pressing. The follow-up to 2014's 'Bury Me At Makeout Creek', named after a Simpsons quote and hailed by Pitchfork as "a complex 10-song story [containing] some of the most nuanced, complex and articulate music that's come from the indiesphere in a while," 'Puberty 2' picks up where it's predecessor left off. "It's kind of a two parter," explains Mitski. "It's similar in sound, but a direct growth [from] that record." Musically, there are subtle evolutions: electronic drum machines pulse throughout beneath Pixies-ish guitars, while saxophone lights up it's opening track. "I had a certain confidence this time. I knew what I wanted, knew what I was doing and wasn't afraid to do things that some people may not like."
Alvvays (10th Anniversary Edition) (Colored Vinyl, Blue, Bonus Track, Clear Vinyl, Gatefold LP Jacket)
Regular price $28.00 Save $-28.00In February 2024, just shy of the tenth anniversary of Alvvays' self-titled debut, it's second song and single, "Archie, Marry Me," reached a rarified threshold for our streaming age-one-hundred million listens through a single platform. For the world's biggest pop stars that's an average achievement, but for an upstart indie rock band then writing in a backroad farmhouse on a Canadian island, it represented a staggering proof of connection and widespread resonance. Makes sense, after all: "Archie, Marry Me" is a softly stinging, pointedly funny portrait of a common end-of-youth predicament-to wed or not to wed, to involve the state and the possibility of financial ruin when you're already saddled with student loans and just trying to survive. Instantly relatable, it is an anthem about prescribed social expectations and delighting, however noncommittally, in outcast status.
Now remastered and reissued with deep cut "Underneath Us" to mark a glorious decade of deadpan jangle, Alvvays feels that way from end to end-literally, from the opening stalking-you-with-love anthem "Adult Diversion" to the ennui escapism of sci-fi closer "Red Planet." In a little more than 30 minutes, Alvvays give us a song about loving someone to actual death ("Next of Kin"), how keeping secrets will destroy what you think you want ("The Agency Group"), and another incisive song about the societal demands of love and marriage ("Atop a Cake"). When Molly Rankin, Alec O'Hanley, Kerri MacLellan, and Brian Murphy cut these songs with Chad VanGaalen in 2013, long before they had a record deal, they were, in fact, young adults trying to figure out these encroaching exigencies for themselves. Again, these problems don't age; some of us just happen to be lucky enough to age out of them. Little of this would matter if the songs themselves didn't stick, if the melodies weren't as timeless as the topics. But the tension between Alvvays' shimmer and snap and Rankin's knowingly droll delivery connects these numbers to a brilliant and deep rock continuum, from the glories of C86 and the triumphs of Athens in the '80s to Celtic folk's own magnetic candour. Each of these songs lands several hooks apiece: the sparkling drum-machine drift of "Dives," the noise-caked sway of "The Agency Group," and, of course, the half-diffident and half-confident matrimonial plea of "Archie, Marry Me" and that pearly guitar lick. Ten years ago or ten years from now, here are ten songs to slip in your pocket and pull out when the decisions of the world seem to swirl like the very guitars that shape them.
Friction, Baby (TAN VINYL)
Regular price $37.00 Save $-37.00Any album that takes its title from a Keith Richards quote (“Friction, baby” was his response to an interviewer asking him what the secret was behind the durability of his partnership with Mick Jagger) has a lot going for it from the get-go…and a certain responsibility to live up to the legacy of the Glimmer Twins. Thankfully, this 1996 album from the celebrated New Orleans alternative rock band Better Than Ezra doesn’t monkey (man) around. On the heels of their success with Deluxe, BTE actually had a real recording budget for the first time, and, with the help of producer Don Gehman (R.E.M., Hootie and the Blowfish), they successfully merged songwriter Kevin Griffin’s Southern boy pop with the heavy guitar sound of the era to form a college radio wet dream of a record spearheaded by the hits “King of New Orleans” and “Desperately Wanting.” Tan vinyl pressing complete with hidden track, with printed inner sleeve. Fully authorized by the band…Ezralites, rejoice!
Memoir of a Sparklemuffin (Pearl Vinyl)
Regular price $35.00 Save $-35.00Loser Edition on sparklemuffin pearl vinyl. Suki Waterhouse's music sounds like a collage of her inspirations, experiences, and emotions stitched together by honeyed vocal delivery, bright-eyed melodies, and evocative storytelling. It doubles as a mirror image of her life as a consummate creative, artist, actress, model, and mother, yet it also breaks the glass to unveil raw truth. She leans on an ever-evolving sonic palette to convey what she's feeling-whether it be folky Americana, nineties alternative, turn-of-the-century indie, or handcrafted otherworldly pop. You'll hear Suki's longing in a swooning chorus, fearlessness in a crunchy chord, elation in a danceable waltz, and wonder in a soft coo befitting of a lullaby. She faithfully followed a lifelong passion for music to her 2022 full-length debut, I Can't Let Go. Adorned by "Moves" and "Melrose Meltdown," it incited widespread critical applause from Variety, Nylon, NME, The Line of Best Fit, and more. Between headlining shows and touring with Father John Misty, "Good Looking" surged online, generating nearly a billion streams, going RIAA platinum, and paving the way for the Milk Teeth EP. Simultaneously, she absorbed inspiration from a season of change earmarked by unforgettable moments a la gracing the stage of Lollapalooza 2023, performing on multiple continents, becoming a mom, and closing out the Gobi Tent at Coachella in 2024. Everything just set the stage for the gold-certified songstress to assert herself as a versatile, vibrant, and vital presence on her 2024 double-LP, Memoir of a Sparklemuffin.
Flood (IEX) Clear Galaxy [Explicit Content] (Parental Advisory Explicit Lyrics, Colored Vinyl, Indie Exclusive
Regular price $33.00 Save $-33.00Hippo Campus' singer Jake Luppen had been listening to the band's work as they rolled around the country, trying to tease out how much work remained. All of it, he soon decided. Obfuscated by the need to sound sophisticated and the overwhelming ambition to make the best Hippo Campus LP ever, a deeper and more profound record that reflected how their lives were changing. But Luppen and all of Hippo Campus decided they didn't actually like what they were making.
So they called an audible. They were going to start over. And three months later, the four-member core of Hippo Campus rendezvoused with longtime collaborator Caleb Wright and producer Brad Cook at Sonic Ranch, a playground-like studio complex on the Texas border. They gave themselves 10 days to cut the tracks they liked best, to make something to which they could commit at last. Less than two weeks later, they emerged with what they'd given themselves half a decade to make-Flood, or the best album Hippo Campus has ever made. The sentiments on Flood are raw, real, and unguarded, a testament to Hippo Campus dropping preconceptions of how they had to sound after so many failed attempts to re-record these songs. They wiped the slate clean, starting over without beliefs about what Hippo Campus or this record needed to be. Still, sophistication lurks in subtle key and tempo changes, in the almost innate shifts that a band of longtime best friends can tap after so much time spent helping to shape one another's musical language. Flood doesn't need to tell you it's important or interesting; it simply is, just by virtue of how it's written, built, and rendered, a map of what it's like to feel everything at once. This rebirth is accompanied by a crucial career shift for Hippo Campus, too, as they exit the traditional label system to issue LP4 via Psychic Hotline, a truly independent imprint run by peers and pals. If you're working to let go of expectations, why not jettison them all? There's a bravery to that, and you can hear it's revivifying spirit in every second of LP4. Early into the endlessly propulsive "Paranoid," where stunted acoustic strums undergird an inescapable jangle, Luppen asks an existential question: "Is there something waiting out there for us at the finish line?" For the next three minutes, the band cycles with him through his woes, from the title's overwhelming worry to notions of dislocation and loneliness. (Also, is there any other refrain ever that manages to make the phrase "so god-damned f***ing" sound so catchy and natural?) But in the final verse, with his voice breaking through a scrim of distortion, he stumbles upon a new credo: "Wait, I wanna give this life all that I have in me." That is precisely what Hippo Campus have done with Flood after realizing it doesn't take a lifetime-or, well, five years-to do just that.

Dream Your Life Away (10th Anniversary)
Regular price $42.00 Save $-42.00Dream Your Life Away (10th Anniversary Edition) Vinyl LP pressing. 2014 debut album from Vance Joy; a folk/pop artist from Melbourne, Australia. Vance Joy's love of music was inspired by his mother's aptitude at literature and his father's fondness of singing. His parents' vast, eclectic record collection only served to heighten his partiality to it. After completing a university degree in law, he decided to take a year's break to focus on making music. He travelled to India and South-East Asia with a collection of songs rattling around in his head. When he came home, they all fell into place. Like the unforced orchestration of his songs, Vance Joy's success has developed organically. Expanded 2-LP set pressed on Translucent Red Vinyl and featuring two bonus tracks ("Fire and the Flood" and "Straight Into Your Arms") making their debut on vinyl.
Laurel Hell
Regular price $27.00 Save $-27.00We don’t typically look to pop albums to answer our cultural moment,
let alone to meet the soul hunger left in the wake of global catastrophe.
But occasionally, an artist proves the form more malleable and capacious
than we knew. With Laurel Hell, Mitski cements her reputation as an artist
in possession of such power - capable of using her talent to perform
the alchemy that turns our most savage and alienated experiences into
the very elixir that cures them. Her critically beloved last album, Be the
Cowboy, built on the breakout acclaim of 2016’s Puberty 2 and launched
her from cult favorite to indie star. She ascended amid a fever of national
division, and the grind of touring and pitfalls of increased visibility
influenced her music as much as her spirit. Like the mountain laurels for
this new album is named, public perception, like the intoxicating prism of
the internet, can offer an alluring façade that obscures a deadly trap—one
that tightens the more you struggle. Exhausted by this warped mirror,
and our addiction to false binaries, she began writing songs that stripped
away the masks and revealed the complex and often contradictory
realities behind them. She wrote many of these songs during or before
2018, while the album finished mixing in May 2021. It is the longest span
of time Mitski has ever spent on a record, and a process that concluded
amid a radically changed world. She recorded Laurel Hell with her
longtime producer Patrick Hyland throughout the isolation of a global
pandemic, during which some of the songs “slowly took on new forms
and meanings, like seed to flower.” Sometimes it’s hard to see the change
when you’re the agent of it, but for the lucky rest of us, Mitski has written
a soundtrack for transformation, a map to the place where vulnerability
and resilience, sorrow and delight, error and transcendence can all sit
within our humanity, can all be seen as worthy of acknowledgment, and
ultimately, love.

Deluxe edition 180-gram 2LP featuring the lead single "Bored To Death"
The first album from Blink-182 to feature vocalist/guitarist Matt Skiba (Alkaline Trio frontman), who replaced former member Tom Delonge (now of Angels & Airways). The single "Bored To Death", featured on the album California, marks the first new recording by the band since 2011's Neighborhoods.
California is Blink-182's home state and also its state of mind. For more than two decades, this band has made gleaming, sugary pop-punk about life without complications or consequences that could only truly grow in sunshine.
That it has named its new album — its seventh, and first since 2011 — California feels like the sort of summation statement a band makes as it's nearing its conclusion: here we were born, here we raged, here we will rage until the sun is no more, writes The New York Times.
