Mavericks. Pioneers. Unique. Immutable. Destined to be one of 2022's most hailed and talked-about releases, Immutable once again showcases Meshuggah's collective brilliance, including some of the most jaw-dropping ensemble performances they have ever executed. Shattering even the highest of expectations, the band's ninth album is simply their wildest and most esoteric sonic adventure yet. Recorded at Sweetspot Studios in Halmstad (Sweden), mixed by Rickard Bengtsson & Staffan Karlsson and mastered by multiple Grammy award winner Vlado Meller (Metallica, Rage Against The Machine, Red Hot Chili Peppers, System Of A Down). Visionary artist Luminokaya once again created the stunning cover artwork. Immutable finds Meshuggah still operating on a higher level of metallic consciousness than just about everybody else!

Savannah, Georgia's Baronessblew the lid off their cauldron of hall of fame riffs on 2007's Red Album, their first record for Relapse and debut full-length recording. With a sound built upon a resolute sense of purpose and shaped by hundreds of explosive live shows, Baroness positioned themselves at the forefront of heavy music with an epic album that is at once powerful, expressive, confident, and commanding. Red Album sees the band expand its sonic vision; colossal riffs and haunting vocals roll like thunder across epic songs spanning both the intense and the sublime. As the Red Album proves, Baroness' formidable reputation proceeds them for a reason.
For Senjutsu – loosely translated as ‘tactics & strategy’, the band once again enlisted the services of Mark Wilkinson to create the spectacular Samurai themed cover artwork, based on an idea by Steve Harris. And with a running time of a little under 82 minutes, Senjutsu, like their previous record The Book Of Souls, will be a double CD album/triple vinyl album.
Steve says "We chose to record at Guillaume Tell Studio in France again as the place has such a relaxed vibe. The setup there is perfect for our needs; the building used to be a cinema and has a really high ceiling so there’s a great acoustic sound. We recorded this album in the same way we did The Book Of Souls in that we’d write a song, rehearse it and then put it down together straight away while it was all fresh in our minds. There’s some very complex songs on this album which took a lot of hard work to get them exactly as we wanted them to sound, so the process was at times very challenging, but Kevin is great at capturing the essence of the band and I think it was worth the effort! I’m very proud of the result and can’t wait for fans to hear it."
Bruce Dickinson continues, "We’re all really excited about this album. We recorded it back in early 2019 during a break in the Legacy tour so we could maximize our touring yet still have a long set up period before release to prepare great album art and something special as a video. Of course the pandemic delayed things more - so much for the best laid plans – or should that be ‘strategies’!? The songs are very varied, and some of them are quite long. There’s also one or two songs which sound pretty different to our usual style, and I think Maiden fans will be surprised - in a good way, I hope!"
The Pretty Reckless'new albumDeath By Rock And Rollis easily their most ambitious release yet. It was written through the heartbreaking losses of Chris Cornell, who was one of frontwoman Taylor Momsen's musical muses, and longtime collaborator Kato Khandwala. The titular single became their fifth No. 1 at Active Rock Radio, a first for a female-fronted group. The Pretty Recklessjoined forces withMatt CameronandKim Thayilfor "Only Love Can Save Me Now." Tracked at the legendary London Bridge Studio in Seattle, it marked the first time Matt and Kim recorded at the space since Soundgarden'sLouder Than Love. Nearing the six-minute mark, it trudges through detuned bliss and an off kilter time signature before Kim conjures a slippery psychedelic solo as Taylor admits, "I want to be saved from the sound," over Matt's percussive wizardry.
Elsewhere, Rage Against The Machine and Audioslave guitaristTom Morellolends his axe to the rambunctious and raucous "And So It Went." Then, there's "25" where Taylor's gravelly timbre quakes above an ominous funereal march and echoes of strings. Meanwhile, "Got So High" bleeds into a heavenly stoned refrain as an acoustic guitar rings out. After the nostalgic "Rock and Roll Heaven," the record sails off to Valhalla on "Harley Darling" ushered along by harmonica, the sound of an engine revving and a devilish dedication.
"After years of putting our blood sweat and tears into the recording I'm so excited for you all to hear it," says Momsen. "The next era has begun."Double vinyl LP with special etching on Side D.

POWERMAN 5000 / TONIGHT THE STARS REVOLT - Wielding a sonic death ray composed of metal, industrial, and rap (with trace elements of camp), Powerman 5000's 1999 release Tonight the Stars Revolt! Pulverized everything in it's path on the way to a million-selling Top 30 release boasting a pair of hits in "When Worlds Collide" and "Nobody's Real" (and a killer cover of the Cars' "Good Times Roll"). Rob Zombie's younger brother Spider One's obsession with '50s pulp science fiction holds the whole thing together, right down to the cheesy-but-charming graphics that we've faithfully recreated on the matte-finish album and inner sleeve to this, it's FIRST-EVER vinyl release. Seldom has there been an album more suited to the visual and aural pop of the LP format... brace for impact!
