Ride the Lightning
Regular price $29.00 Save $-29.00Limited 180gm vinyl LP pressing. Digitally remastered edition of the second studio album by Metallica, originally released in 1984. The album was recorded in three weeks with producer Flemming Rasmussen at the Sweet Silence Studios in Copenhagen, Denmark. The artwork, based on a concept by the band, depicts an electric chair in the midst of a thunderstorm. The title was taken from a passage in Stephen King's novel The Stand. Although rooted in the thrash metal genre, the album showcased the band's musical maturity and lyrical sophistication. This was partly because bassist Cliff Burton introduced the basics of music theory to the rest of the band and had more input in the songwriting. Instead of relying strictly on fast tempos as on Kill 'Em All, Metallica broadened its approach by employing acoustic guitars, extended instrumentals, and more complex harmonies.

Kill 'Em All
Regular price $29.00 Save $-29.00Limited 180gm vinyl LP pressing. Digitally remastered edition of Metallica's 1983 debut album. Kill 'Em All is regarded as a groundbreaking album for thrash metal because of its precise musicianship, which fuses New Wave of British Heavy Metal riffs with hardcore punk tempos. Its musical approach and lyrics were markedly different from rock's mainstream of the early ‘80s and inspired a number of bands who followed in similar manner. Metallica is easily one of the best, most influential heavy metal band of the '80s. Responsible for bringing the genre back to Earth, the bandmates looked and talked like they were from the street, shunning the usual rockstar games of metal musicians during the early '80s. They expanded the limits of thrash, using speed and volume not for their own sake, but to enhance their intricately structured compositions.

Rage Against the Machine XX-20th Anniversary
Regular price $31.00 Save $-31.00Peace Sells...But Who's Buying?
Regular price $32.00 Save $-32.00Peace Sells... but Who's Buying? is the second studio album by American thrash metal band Megadeth, released on September 19, 1986. The project was originally handled by Combat Records, resulting in the first mix of the album being co-produced by Randy Burns. Capitol Records then bought the rights to the album and hired another producer, Paul Lani, to mix it himself. The album's front cover, featuring the band's mascot Vic Rattlehead, was created by Ed Repka. The recording of the album was difficult for the band because of the ongoing drug issues the members had at the time. This was the last Megadeth album to feature drummer Gar Samuelson and guitarist Chris Poland, who were fired shortly after the album's promotional tour. The title track, noted for it's politically conscious lyrics, was released as the album's lead single. Peace Sells... but Who's Buying? is regarded as a thrash metal classic and as an album that gave prominence to extreme metal. It has been featured in several publications' best album lists, including Robert Dimery's 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die and Martin Popoff's Top 500 Heavy Metal Albums of All Time. The album has been reissued several times over the years. In 2004, the album was remixed and remastered by Megadeth front man Dave Mustaine, with extensive liner notes detailing the album's background. In 2011, the three different versions were reissued as part of the album's 25th anniversary celebration. All of them, with the exception of the 2004 mixes, feature new remastering.

Undertow
Regular price $32.00 Save $-32.00Arguably their finest album, this follow-up to Opiate showcases Tool at their best, assisted by clean, crisp production. Edgy guitar riffs are complemented by spitting, heavy bass, especially on 'Sober' and 'Crawl Away'. Lyrically, Tool are at their vitriolic best, targeting religious hypocrisy ('Intolerance,' 'Sober'; always a popular theme), the loss of innocence and its consequences ('Prison Sex'), and deliberate ignorance ('Swamp Song'). Henry Rollins makes a guest appearance on 'Bottom,' which, along with '4 Degrees,' deals with questions of identity. Undertow is also Tool's most musically adventurous album, with considerably more sophistication than their previous work. Very highly recommended.

Opiate (ep) [Explicit Content]
Regular price $23.00 Save $-23.00As the title of Tool's 1992 debut implies, they're none too impressed by religion, though other targets-fear ("Cold and Ugly"), hypocritical moralizing ("Jerk-Off"), nonconformity ("Hush")-get their time in the spotlight as well. Opiate is a collection of heavy, aggressive, cynical music (though the tail end of the title track sounds more like Acid Rock), packaged in songs noticeably shorter than on their later efforts (Undertow, 1993, and Aenima, 1996). While not as impressive as Undertow, arguably their finest effort, Opiate has a definite appeal.

Blizzard of Oz
Regular price $30.00 Save $-30.00Originally released in 1980, Blizzard of Ozz changed the face of hard rock and mainstream heavy metal. Ozzy Osbourne's solo album not only reintroduced the former Black Sabbath vocalist to the world but represents the arrival of virtuoso guitarist Randy Rhoads, whose classical-influenced playing and melodic devices stood entirely apart from his contemporaries. Moreover, Osbourne and Co. arrived armed to the teeth with a batch of infallible tunes.
From the opening, autobiographical "I Don't Know" to the now-classic "Crazy Train" to deeper cuts such as the haunting "Mr. Crowley" and excitable "No Bone Movies," Blizzard of Ozz comes on at a feverish pace and immediately hooks the listener with stunning riff structures, blazing solos, and accessible melodies. Osbourne achieved his goal of wanting to expand into the mainstream without sacrificing his edge, and Rhoads and a formidable rhythm section make it possible.Follow the Leader
Regular price $33.00 Save $-33.00Ushering in a new post-grunge metal genre with their first two Ross Robinson helmed alt-metal landmarks Korn (1994) and Life Is Peachy (1996), Korn switched gears and co-produced their massive third album, Follow The Leader with the team of Steve Thompson and Toby Wright. The 5x-platinum affair peaked at No. 1 on four charts including the Billboard 200 and gave Korn their first entries on the Modern Rock and Mainstream Rock charts with "Got The Life" and "Freak On A Leash." The latter also earned the band their first Grammy Award. Further album standouts include "B.B.K.," "Children of the Korn" and "All in the Family."
"We were listening to tons of rap, but we also liked bands like Pantera and Sepultura and as we evolved, I think we learned to mix those two styles better," notes Jonathan Davis. "Plus, I grew up on new wave and I always wanted to make music that had lots of melody. We got that into the first two records, but Follow the Leader was where we were able to really emphasize the hooks and people loved that shit." "We never wanted to sound like every other band," Reginald Arvizu adds. "Even though we liked all those bands that were part of the sound that we helped create, we've always wanted to be step ahead of everyone else who was doing this kind of music."
"In attack and distemper, Korn have the Nineties hip-hop, amp-death aesthetic...down to ferocious perfection." - David Fricke, Rolling Stone

Take Me Back To Eden
Regular price $39.00 Save $-39.00With fan worship more intense than ever, and worldwide interest and intrigue growing at runaway speed, Sleep Token are set to reach bold new heights with their third studio album, Take Me Back To Eden. This is the spectacular final chapter to the trilogy that started with their 2019 debut album, Sundowning. More than an hour of music across 12 distinctive tracks, it features the heaviest moments thus far recorded by Sleep Token ("Chokehold" & "The Summoning"), along with some of the most commercial and certainly the most emotional, with a slew of other tones, textures and tangents touched on in-between. Sleep Token boldly reconfirm a true love of the epic (the title track is eight minutes plus), whilst further exploring and developing those elements that keep the music removed from any kind of pack, howling at a moon that's all it's own. What comes next, only time will tell, but what's certain is that it won't be bound by convention.

Regular price $40.00 Save $-40.00Music On Vinyl release. Replicating the magic of Guns N' Roses, Appetite for Destruction, Black Sabbath and Metallica, White Zombie has, in this major debut album, already begun to pave the path for the future of heavy metal. Their rhythms are complex, their riffs intense. They're a powerhouse of loud and proud. Vocalist Rob Zombie intrigues in shock value, and here he packs it in: these songs are about muscle cars, sleazy encounters, and a glorified trash culture. Songs include brash manifestos such as "Soul Crusher," indulgent macabre such as "Spiderbaby (Yeah-Yeah-Yeah)," and the sexually charged "Thrust!" This album is a celebratory act for the lover of the lewd-pressed on 180-gram vinyl and including a color insert with lyrics.

Diary of a Madman

Regular price $35.00 Save $-35.00Motörhead are the true embodiment of rock n'roll excess. A hybrid of rock, punk and heavy metal played with relentless, ear-curdling power. They were a force of nature and nothing short of life-changing for millions and their approach to life and music; there was no "off" switch and they became legends as a result. Fronted for their entirety of their career by Ian 'Lemmy' Kilmister, they released twenty two studio albums over their 40 years together. Amassing chart topping records, a Grammy award and racking up 15 million worldwide sales. Their signature song, Ace Of Spades perfectly captured everything great about hard rock, heavy metal, and punk, amped it all up to 11, and came racing out of the gates at what felt like a million miles an hour, pushing at every musical boundary. Nothing was harder, nothing was faster and certainly nothing was louder. Anyone disputing this fact need look no further than any heavy metal gig and play 'spot the Motörhead T-shirt and jacket', they still outnumber anyone else, hands down. Motörhead has truly become a lifestyle for several generations of rockers, metalheads, punks, bikers, athletes, rebels, outcasts, and freethinkers all around the world. Few bands in modern history can instantly ignite the adrenaline of music fans the way they can, they changed the course of hard rock... forever. This is the definitive collection of their loudest songs ever and is the first to span their entire career. This gatefold 2LP edition contains twenty two songs including : Ace Of Spades, Killed By Death, Overkill, Orgasmatron, Bomber, The Game and many more.
British Steel
Regular price $25.00 Save $-25.00There is no overstating Judas Priest's position at the very top of heavy metal's Mount Olympus. The long-term association (eight consecutive live and studio albums) between the band and producer Tom Allom includes the cornerstone 1980 classic British Steel, their second LP together. It was recorded in four weeks at Tittenhurst Park, previously owned by John Lennon, and the home of Ringo Starr at the time. It was British Steel that took Priest to the masses at the onset of the '80s with huge anthems like "Breaking The Law" and "Living After Midnight," earning the band their first RIAA platinum Top 40 album in the U.S. and their first Top 10 in the U.K. in the process. Deeper album cuts like "Metal Gods" and "The Rage" would also prove to become beloved concert staples. Universally hailed as one of the most influential albums in heavy metal history, fellow musicians and disciples credit British Steel for unleashing metal from its blues origins.

Vulgar Display of Power (Black/Gray)
Regular price $29.00 Save $-29.00Released on “marbled white and true metal gray” vinyl. Pantera's second landmark album in a row, 1992'sVulgar Display Of Power, cemented their reputation, with Dimebag Darrell's strafing leads making him the newest poster boy for electric guitar mayhem. Anselmo's dark lyrics and fearsome roar pressed him to the front lines of metal's most compelling frontmen, and the videos for such songs as "Mouth For War," "This Love" and "Walk" (which turned Anselmo's intimidating refrain of"Are You Talkin' To Me!?!"into a rallying cry) became three of the most popular clips on MTV's Headbangers Ball.
Death By Rock And Roll
Regular price $33.00 Save $-33.00The Pretty Reckless' new album Death By Rock And Roll is easily their most ambitious release yet. It was written through the heartbreaking losses of Chris Cornell, who was one of frontwoman Taylor Momsen's musical muses, and longtime collaborator Kato Khandwala. The titular single became their fifth No. 1 at Active Rock Radio, a first for a female-fronted group.
The Pretty Reckless joined forces with Matt Cameron and Kim Thayil for "Only Love Can Save Me Now." Tracked at the legendary London Bridge Studio in Seattle, it marked the first time Matt and Kim recorded at the space since Soundgarden's Louder Than Love. Nearing the six-minute mark, it trudges through detuned bliss and an off kilter time signature before Kim conjures a slippery psychedelic solo as Taylor admits, "I want to be saved from the sound," over Matt's percussive wizardry.
Elsewhere, Rage Against The Machine and Audioslave guitarist Tom Morello lends his axe to the rambunctious and raucous "And So It Went." Then, there's "25" where Taylor's gravelly timbre quakes above an ominous funereal march and echoes of strings. Meanwhile, "Got So High" bleeds into a heavenly stoned refrain as an acoustic guitar rings out. After the nostalgic "Rock and Roll Heaven," the record sails off to Valhalla on "Harley Darling" ushered along by harmonica, the sound of an engine revving and a devilish dedication.
"After years of putting our blood sweat and tears into the recording I'm so excited for you all to hear it," says Momsen. "The next era has begun." Double vinyl LP with special etching on Side D.
