In 1997, after a lengthy hiatus, Echo & The Bunnymen returned to the fore with ‘Evergreen’, revealing the brighter side of the band, and standing up with any of their earlier work.The self-produced album was recorded at The Doghouse in Henley-On-Thames with additional strings, horns and vocal arrangements recorded at Abbey Road.

Limited silver colored vinyl LP pressing. Toro y Moi's seventh studio album, Mahal, is the boldest and most fascinating journey yet from musical mastermind Chaz Bear. The record spans genre and sound-encompassing the shaggy psychedelic rock of the 1960s and '70s, and the airy sounds of 1990s mod-post-rock-taking listeners on an auditory expedition, as if they're riding in the back of Bear's Filipino jeepney that adorns the album's cover. But Mahal is also an unmistakably Toro y Moi experience, calling back to previous works while charting a new path forward in a way that only Bear can do. Mahal is the latest in an accomplished career for Bear, who's undoubtedly one of the decade's most influential musicians. Since the release of the electronic pop landmark Causers of This in 2009, subsequent records as Toro y Moi have repeatedly shifted the idea of what his sound can be. But there's little in Bear's catalog that will prepare you for the deep-groove excursions on Mahal, his most eclectic record to date.

Helen Ballentine's spellbinding first full-length album Quiet the Room

is the sound of a window opening, a barrier dissolving. Across these fourteen tracks, the outside world seeps in and the inside world crawls out. The result is a stunning and quietly moving work that reflects the journeys we take through the physical and spiritual realms of ourselves in order to show up for the world. While writing the album in the summer of 2021, Ballentine drew inspiration from her childhood home in Mount Vernon, NY. What she set out to capture on Quiet the Room was not the innocence of childhood, as it is so often portrayed, but the intense complexity of it. Past and present merge Escher-like in this dreamlike space laced with elements of fantasy, magic, and mystery. Musically, this translates into a sound that feels somehow weighty and ephemeral all at once, like a time lapse of copper corroding. To capture the effortless blend of electronic, ambient, folk, and rock, Ballentine and her partner and collaborator Noah Weinman brought in producer Andrew Sarlo to record at Chicken Shack studio in Upstate New York, close to where Ballentine grew up. "We wanted every song to have that little twinkle, but also a sense of crumbling," she says. These songs thrum with moments of anxiety that boil over into moments of peace, as on lead single "Whatever Fits Together," which chugs to a ragged start before the gears catch and ease. On "It's Like a Secret," Ballentine struggles to connect and let people in, recognizing that no one can ever fully know our inner worlds and that to understand each other is to cross a barrier and leave a part of ourselves behind. And yet, on closing track "You are my House," she finds a way to reach out. "You are the walls and floors of my room," she sings in perfect, hopeful harmony. As the album cover invites, these are dollhouse songs to which we bend a giant eye, peering into the laminate, luminous world that Ballentine has created. Like a kid constructing a shelter in a patch of sharp brambles, she reminds us that beauty and terror can exist in the same place. The complexities of childhood are so often overlooked, but through these private yet generous songs, she gives new weight to our earliest memories, widening the frame for us-even opening a window.

For Mike Campbell, External Combustion – the second album by his first band as a leader, The Dirty Knobs – is proof that lightning can strike twice. The follow-up to their 2020 debut Wreckless Abandon beats a new set of odds and jumps ahead in vision and drive, proving the first record was no one-shot deal. Wildness, Snow Patrol's first album in seven years, finds the British alt-rockers reuniting with longtime producer Jackknife Lee and searching for clarity, connection, and meaning, while staying true to the melodic songwriting prowess that brought them to prominence. The extended break proved to be a source of inspiration for the band and the new record, true to its title, taps into something raw and primitive.

Lead-singer/songwriter Gary Lightbody explains, "There are many types of wildness, but I think it can be distilled into two: the wildness of the modern age, all it's confusion, illogic and alienation and a more ancient wildness. Way back in October 2013, The Dead Weather and Third Man Records announced an incredibly special 7" featuring "Open Up (That's Enough)" b/w "Rough Detective" as part of Vault Package #18. These two tracks were a fierce battle cry heralding the announcement of a brand new Dead Weather album that was to be released in a revolutionary fashion. Teased out over the past year and a half via a series of 7" singles, the physical versions of which were ONLY available via The Vault (Third Man's one-of-a-kind subscription mail-order service), the band promised this would culminate in a brand new album in 2015.

The third Dead Weather LP would be a full length album comprised not only of the previously released 7" singles, but newly recorded, previously-unheard material. Now The Dead Weather officially present their new album Dodge & Burn. The 12-track set will be released worldwide in September 2015 on Third Man Records and will feature eight brand new songs, along with the four previously released tracks remixed and remastered.

Limited double 180gm vinyl LP pressing. Sawdust is a compilation album by alt-rock band The Killers, released on November 9, 2007 by Island Records. The album consists of singles, B-sides, rarities, covers, and remixes recorded between 2002 and 2007. Sawdust was inspired by b-sides collections such as Oasis' The Masterplan, Smashing Pumpkins' Pisces Iscariot and Nirvana's Incesticide. Sawdust debuted at #12 on the US Billboard 200, selling 82, 000 copies in it's first week. The album was certified platinum by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI) on April 4, 2008, and had sold 459, 500 copies in the United Kingdom by September 2012. It was also certified platinum by the Irish Recorded Music Association (IRMA) for sales of 15, 000 copies.

For the past ten years, San Francisco rock / post-metal luminaries Deafheaven have built one of the most compelling discographies in metal, one that has challenged both the modus operandi and perceptions of the genre. Each critically acclaimed release widened the scope of their particular views of what rock and metal can be. Set to embark on a world tour earlier this year to celebrate their 10th anniversary, Deafheaven had to switch gears when COVID canceled all gatherings across the world, instead teaming with longtime producer Jack Shirley at Atomic Garden studios to bring the show they planned to perform in a studio sessions format. 10 Years Gone includes the first song they ever wrote in "Daedalus" from Demo, which also serves as the first single released from this album, along with fan favorites like “Dream House” and “Vertigo” that have an added power in this setting.

Interpol follows-up 2014's El Pintor with their sixth studio album, Marauder. For the first time since 2007's Our Love to Admire, the band has opened themselves up to the input of a producer. For two-week spells between December of 2017 to April of 2018, they traveled to upstate New York to work with Dave Fridmann – famed for recording with Mercury Rev, Flaming Lips, MGMT, Spoon, Mogwai, and countless more.

In the run up to writing and recording, Sam Fogarino found himself immersed in soul drummers such as Al Jackson Jr (Otis Redding's drummer) and 80's funk producers Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis. "How can I make shit swing?" was the question Sam repeatedly asked himself, and the answer is in the striding gallop of opener "If You Really Love Nothing," the embellished skip ‘n' bounce of "Stay in Touch" and the R&B swagger of closer "It Probably Matters." Interpol have always been world-beaters at creating a feeling, but Marauder is where the feel is just as crucial.

Paul Banks may have stepped out of the shadows as a bassist, but he steps into an even brighter light as a songwriter here. During Interpol's previous albums, the singer largely kept himself out of his own work, preferring to fill his lyrics with detached thoughts, characters, and observations, often phrased in abstract. But more than 20 years on since forming at NYU, the frontman is finally allowing himself to play a role in his own stories. 

"Marauder is a facet of myself," he explains. "That's the guy that fucks up friendships and does crazy shit. He taught me a lot, but it's representative of a persona that's best left in song. In a way, this album is like giving him a name and putting him to bed."

Radiohead figurehead Thom Yorke follows up his 2014 album Tomorrow's Modern Boxes and 2018 score to Suspiria with his third full-length solo effort Anima. Produced by longtime collaborator Nigel Godrich, several of the album's songs were debuted live during Yorke, Godrich and Tarik Barri's Tomorrow's Modern Boxes performances.
