"Hello, Hi" - Ty Segall - Tossing down straight acoustic shots with electric guitar back, Ty Segall rides through the valley of thee ol' Canyon legends, seeking an isolated place beneath the open sky to loose his herd of wild nerves Alone at last, naturally? Nope - there's a rider on the horizon, cross-hairs trained on his very own heart. Tremulating in fear and loathing upon the precipice of everyday, so that we don't think we don't have to, Ty guides ten songs of love through internal crevasses and past darkened cavities, as harmony vocals swarm above the treacherous, yet reverberant arroyos. Whatever doesn't get killed is getting stronger all the time. It's light rock made heavy through thought and intention, "Hello, Hi" is a lean, mean deal, baked in saltwater and sunlight, compassion pouring forth from beautiful blue eyes.
Bristling with guitar acrobatics and infectious melodies, Minus The Bear's fifth studio full-length album, Infinity Overhead (2012) marked not only a return to form in direction, instrumentation and creation but also one of the band's most aggressive and confident to date. The Seattle-based fivesome reunited with former member and longtime producer Matt Bayles(Mastodon, Isis, Cursive) here to create a guitar-laden 10-track record that is heavy on both technicality and pop songcraft.
Lost Loves lives up to it's title quite literally as a collection of hard to let go songs pulled from the band's past seven odd years of writing, recording and releasing records. 'Inevitably some of your favorite songs are going to be cut in the necessity of creating the right sequence for that particular time says bassist Cory Murchy. 'Regardless of the reason they weren't included, it wasn't for lack of love and appreciation of the songs themselves.' Somewhat by chance the black sheep that didn't quite fit in with Planet of Ice, OMNI, and Infinity Overhead coalesce among their once regretfully forsaken peers. 'Perhaps it's because they didn't make the past albums that they fit so seamlessly together' muses Murchy.
Live archive release. In November 2014, The Jesus and Mary Chain celebrated three decades of their incendiary cult-classic debut album, Psychocandy, with a run of tour dates in which the infamous Scottish group played the album in full for the very first time in the band's history. As part of the Psychocandy tour, the Mary Chain descended on Glasgow's Barrowland Ballroom - a legendary venue down the road from where the Reid brothers grew up in neighboring East Kilbride - and tore through the songs that would propel them to worldwide acclaim upon Psychocandy's release in 1985. The Barrowland performance - an equal-parts deafening and blinding assault on the senses - was cut to vinyl by engineer Noel Summerville and originally released in 2015. Fast forward to 2022 and the Live at Barrowland album is now being reissued by Fuzz Club Records.
Specialty Clear w/ Blue Pink Splatter (IEX) LP. A product of generations of underground music in L.A. and beyond, The Linda Lindas' debut, "Growing Up", channels classic punk, post punk, power pop, new wave, and other surprises into timelessly catchy and cool songs sung by all four members-each with her own style and energy. A handful of cuts have already been previewed at shows and enthusiastically approved by diehard followers in the pit at L.A.'s DIY punk institution The Smell and Head in the Cloud festival goers at The Rose Bowl alike. The Linda Lindas are stoked to unleash Growing Up.
The Linda Lindas first played together as members of a pickup new wave cover band of kids assembled by Kristin Kontrol (Dum Dum Girls) for Girlschool LA in 2018 and then formed their own garage punk group just for fun. Sisters Mila de la Garza (drummer, now 11) and Lucia de la Garza (guitar, 14), cousin Eloise Wong (bass, 13), and family friend Bela Salazar (guitar, 17) developed their chops as regulars at all-ages matinees in Chinatown, where they played with original L.A. punks like The Dils, Phranc, and Alley Cats; went on to open for riot grrrl legends Bikini Kill and architect Alice Bag as well as DIY heavyweights Best Coast and Bleached; and were eventually featured in Amy Poehler's movie Moxie. When the pandemic put a pause on shows, The Linda Lindas went on to self-release a four-song EP, make their own videos and grow a following beyond Los Angeles. But they never expected or could have even dreamed that their performance of "Racist, Sexist Boy" for the Los Angeles Public Library in May 2021 would take them from punk shows to TV shows. A month later, when the school year ended and summer began, The Linda Lindas got to work on their first full-length LP. Having written a mountain of new material individually while sheltering in place and attending class virtually, the band was more than ready to enter the studio where Mila and Lucia's dad (and Eloise's uncle and Bela's "uncle") Carlos de la Garza oversaw recording and production. The Grammy-winning producer's work includes Paramore, Bad Religion, Best Coast, and Bleached.
You've probably heard every riff on Jet's breakout 2003 Dave Sardy-produced debut Get Born before, yet these Australian rockers manage to combine the swagger of countrymen AC/DC with the bite of the White Stripes and mix it up with a splash of Sweet and Oasis to make it all sound fresh. Great catchy songs ("Are You Gonna Be My Girl," "Rollover DJ," "Cold Hard Bitch") with sing-along choruses and stomping beats galore that most definitely sound best on vinyl!

Co-produced by Youth (Killing Joke) and featuring the lead singles 'Amputation' and 'All Things Pass', 'Damage & Joy' also featured guest appearances from Scottish singer-songwriter Isobel Campbell ('The Two of Us', 'Song For A Secret') and American alt-pop star Sky Ferreira ('Black And Blues').

The musician enters previously uncharted territory in every sense-from sound to lyrics to visuals, and everything in-between. "In the past, I've been really tight and controlled, and I don't feel like that right now," says Banks. "I just feel more wild and free." Featuring already released singles 'The Devil' and 'Skinnydipped,' the 13-track Serpentina started taking form in the early days of quarantine, when Banks decided to use the time under lockdown to master the production software Ableton. Despite being heavily involved with the production across all of her previous three records, it was her first time fully in control. "It felt like opening up a whole new world," says Banks. "It feels like a journey listening to it from the beginning to end."
Twice Grammy nominated, Melbourne-based group Hiatus Kaiyote returns with the new album Mood Valiant. Comprised of Naomi "Nai Palm" Saalfield (guitar, vocals), Paul Bender (bass), Simon Mavin (keys), and Perrin Moss (drums), the new record is the follow up to 2015's Choose Your Weapon, which Rolling Stonedescribed as "a stunning step up." The new project comes after being sampled on songs by The Carters (Beyonce & Jay-Z), Kendrick Lamar, Anderson .Paak, Chance The Rapper, and Drake – with whom Nai Palm collaborated on his Scorpion album. Mood Valiant has been in the making for six years, but that interval reflects more hustle than hiatus. The result is an album that relaxes into a groove: sunlit, sublime, masterful. Behind everything is Hiatus' familiar sense of musical adventure, their knack for making the complex sound simple.

But, there's one pivotal lodestar of human development he has yet to mine - that's right, High School. Produced by Mac DeMarco, Eric D. Johnson (Fruit Bats, Bonny Light Horseman), Drew Erickson. There's the self-analytical "The Climb," a song which in part references his own defenses as well as his eight-year-old's ongoing battle with cystic fibrosis, one of the chief reasons behind the long gap between records. Watching her suffer fuels his anger and challenging of God's existence in album opener "One of Us," while the dirty delta blues of "Slow Your Roll" suggests a dark glimpse of a world and a growling vocal hook provided byAloe Blacc, taking us back toEverlast'sunderground hip-hop roots.
The album's centerpiece, "Summer Rain," is a sprawling, cinematic, Beatles-meets-Tom Waits-meets Neil Young glimpse into the horrors of drug addiction, with "Dream State," co-produced byAlchemist, a sly stab at the back-stabbing treachery and Faustian pacts of the music business.Everlastalso offers up a "Jump Around"-style party song in the rousing "Smokin' & Drinkin.'"

Earliest recordings of The Bangles, filling in critical first chapter of ’80s chart-toppers!
Hand-selected by the band members from their personal music archives, Ladies And Gentelmen… The Bangles! is a 16-track collection of remastered ’80s-era rarities, demos, live recordings and more, including The Bangles’ debut single and all of the tracks from their self-titled EP—produced by legendary Ramones/Blondie producer Craig Leon—unavailable since its initial release on vinyl in 1982.
Encompassing the very first years of the band’s development, from their earliest days as The Bangs to their incarnation as The Bangles, the tracks include performances by The Bangles’ founding and current members—Susanna Hoffs, Debbi Peterson, and Vicki Peterson—as well as now-retired bassist Michael Steele, and the band’s original bass player Annette Zilinskas.
“We’re so pleased to give our fans and music lovers alike the chance to enjoy the early fruits of our labor. Some of these tracks have never seen the light of day,” states Bangles drummer/singer Debbi Peterson. “We’ve wanted to make these songs available to a new audience for a long time,” adds singer/guitarist Vicki Peterson. “We’ve thrown in a couple of live tracks, and even some of the first demos, all lovingly collected and re-mastered, so you no longer have to dig out a cassette player to hear them.” Singer/guitarist Susanna Hoffs continues, “I feel a very special connection to our early recordings. The garage of my parents’ house was our musical laboratory, and we took all the flavors of our favorite bands and mixed up a concoction of jangly guitars, McCartney-inspired bass parts, grooves powered by punk energy, and harmonies galore! These songs and recordings were our musical manifesto—all that mattered and inspired us, fueled by youthful energy, hope and blind ambition.”
Omnivore Recordings is proud to offer this compilation, many tracks available for the first time on CD, in partnership with the band. Ladies And Gentlemen… The Bangles!
To recreate that original chemistry, the band recruited the legendary producer John Fryer to again helm Chasing Ghosts. Fryer, whose production credits include Depeche Mode, Nine Inch Nails, 4AD, Cocteau Twins, and Love and Rockets, originally worked with Stabbing Westward on their best-selling early releases Ungod (1994) and Wither Blister Burn + Peel (1996). Chasing Ghosts was also mastered by Tom Baker who, like Fryer, worked with Stabbing Westward on their early releases and is part of the reassembled production team on the latest album. The current Stabbing Westward band lineup includes Carlton Bost (guitars and programming) and Bobby Amaro (drums). Says Walter Flakus, "It seems like we've been working on this album for a long time, trying to get it just right. With the help of John Fryer and COP International, everything fell into place. We are so excited for the world to finally hear the album. " Adds Christopher Hall: "It's great to be back and working with John Fryer and Tom Baker again was awesome and felt like making a pure old-school Stabbing Westward album. I was so excited to have the opportunity to go back to the very roots of SW by working with John again. John really helped us develop our sound on our first album and then help us take a huge leap forward with our second album. Even though this is our 5th full-length album, after such a long break it feels like a new beginning and it's very cool to have John at the helm once again. " The album is featuring artwork by David Seidman (an artist who has also worked with Coheed And Cambria and is known for his ethereal and surrealistic imagery)
This is the debut from Oxford, England's five piece, dance rock band. Completing the circuit between the minimalism of American composer Steve Reich, guitars that sound like insects and tennis player Andy Roddick, theirs is a uniquely winning formula. Driving percussion high in the mix, guitars played above the 12th fret, no chords and splashes of synth color all come together like the schematics for a piece of precision engineering.
Sugar Ray became widely known through their infectious pop single 'Fly', and a consequent lighter musical direction displayed by songs like 'Every Morning', 'Someday', and 'When It's Over'.
However, at Sugar Ray's earliest conception, they were a rock/metal band at heart, with enough goofy energy to land them a deal with Atlantic and a debut record produced by DJ Lethal, known as member of House of Pain and Limp Bizkit. This debut album titled Lemonade and Brownies was originally released in 1995 and showcases Sugar Ray in their most youthful and idealistic phase. It's a competent set of alternative funk and metal, with a few punk anthems to boot.
