Double vinyl LP pressing. 2018 release, the fourth studio album by British band Mumford & Sons. The album was recorded at The Church Studios in London with producer Paul Epworth. The album features the lead single, "Guiding Light". The band recorded more than 25 songs with Epworth and were intent on keeping the "collaborative spirit" of their live shows and 2016 EP Johannesburg. Marcus Mumford has said that much of the album was recorded in "non-gender specific Friday night lads sessions" with friends where they would play music, "smoke cigarettes and have a great time". Around 100 people were involved in these sessions, with some being featured on the record, including American singer-songwriters Maggie Rogers and Gill Landry.

2018 marks the 25th anniversary of Liz Phair's landmark album Exile in Guyville and Matador Records is celebrating the occasion with the release of the extensive 7LP/3CD Girly-Sound To Guyville box sets and this standalone 2LP reissue of the original 1993 album remastered by Emily Lazar at The Lodge.

Ever since her audacious debut, Exile In Guyville, landed in 1993, Liz Phair has been cipher for a certain kind of aesthetic. She's been called "the female face of indie rock," a "slacker poet of the first degree" and a "brainy bad girl," but she forever remains America's sardonic sweetheart. With Exile..., Phair created what's considered a track-by-track response to The Rolling Stones' Exile On Main St by reverse-engineering sexual objectification for the female gaze, all while keeping her tongue firmly in cheek.

Fusing lo-fi production with a singer-songwriter sensibility, Phair helped shape what would become "indie rock" and defied expectations of what a female rock star could be. While her sexually provocative lyrics is what first enthralled the indie press, it was her fearless singing, her effortless hooks and the specificity of her lyrics that connected with fans.

When the prevailing guitar jingle of 'Mr. Jones' cascaded over radio in the early 90s, it was a sure sign that the Counting Crows were a musical force to be reckoned with. Their 1993 debut album, August and Everything After, burst at the seams with both dominant pop harmonies and rich, hearty ballads, all thanks to lead singer Adam Duritz. The lone guitar work of 'Mr. Jones' coupled with the sweet, in-front pull of Duritz's voice kicked off the album in full force. The album cover depicts handwritten lyrics to a song called "August and Everything After", but the band decided against featuring the song on the album of the same name; it was not until over a decade later that it was played as part of one of their live concerts.

Vinyl LP pressing. Dude Ranch is the second studio album by Blink-182. Recorded at Big Fish Studios in Encinitas, California with producer Mark Trombino, the album was released in the United States on June 17, 1997, jointly through independent label Cargo Music and major label MCA Records. MCA signed the band in 1996 following moderate sales of their debut Cheshire Cat (1995) and growing popularity of the trio in Australia. Dude Ranch was the band's final recording released on Cargo and their last with original drummer Scott Raynor before he was dismissed from the band in 1998. The band recorded the album during the winter of 1996-1997. With lyrical material written on the band's nonstop tours over the previous years, as well as completed songs, the band recorded with Trombino in sessions that lasted for five weeks.

Punisher, her fourth release and second solo album, is concerned with that subject. To say she writes about heartbreak is to undersell her blue wisdom, to say she writes about pain erases all the strange joy her music emanates. Bridgers pulls together a formidable crew of guests, including the Julien Baker, Lucy Dacus, Christian Lee Hutson and Conor Oberst as well as Nathaniel Walcott (of Bright Eyes), Nick Zinner (of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs), Jenny Lee Lindberg (of Warpaint), Blake Mills and Jim Keltner as well as her longtime bandmates Marshall Vore (drums), Harrison Whitford (guitar), Emily Retsas (bass) and Nick White (keys). The album was mixed by Mike Mogis, who also mixed Stranger In The Alps.

With Teens of Denial, his first real "studio" album with an actual band, Will Toledo moves from bedroom pop to something approaching classic rock grandeur and huge (if detailed and personal) narrative ambitions, with nods to the Cars, Pavement, Jonathan Richman, Wire, and William Onyeabor. With a vision that is both sweeping in scope and intimately personal, Car Seat Headrest embodies the DIY ethos at it's best. Car Seat Headrest began in 2010 in Will's hometown of Leesburg, Virginia. Needing a place of solitude (and soundproofing) where he could record his often frantic vocals undisturbed, a 17-year old Will set up shop in the family car (hence the name). From this humble origin, he has since built up a catalogue of staggering breadth and depth. Jane's Addiction's third release Ritual De Lo Habitual is one of the cornerstones of 1990s alternative rock. The double platinum affair features the group's breakthrough hit "Been Caught Stealing," as well as the genre classics "Stop!," "Ain't No Right" and "Classic Girl," alongside the back-to-back epics "Three Days" and "Then She Did." Unfortunately, Ritual De Lo Habitual would also serve as the band's final album with the original lineup. The members parted ways in 1991 after their last live appearances headlining Lollapalooza, the tour series started by lead singer Perry Farrell.

Known for their explorative and restless sound, taking influence from old style rock like The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Neil Young and Pink Floyd as well as from electronica and hip hop, each of Radiohead's albums marks a cornerstone in their musical evolution. Debut Pablo Honey (1993) was their answer to grunge while follow-up albums The Bends (1995) and OK Computer (1997) offered atmospheric, almost avant-garde tones.

With the near impossible task of following up their critically acclaimed masterpiece OK Computer, Radiohead took another bold leap at the turn of the millennium with 2000's Kid A, an experimental album built largely around the union of electronica and mood. Vinyl LP pressing. Commemorating the 20th anniversary of Outpost Records, Eight Arms To Hold You is the second full-length studio album from the alt-rock band, originally released in 2007. This was the last album to feature original band members Nina Gordon, Louise Post, Steve Lack, and Jim Shapiro until the 2015 reunion album. The album features hit "Volcano Girls". The title of the album is a reference to the working title for The Beatles' film eventually titled Help! Named after Veruca Salt, the spoiled rich girl from the children's book Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (and it's 1971 film adaptation Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory), Veruca Salt was formed in Chicago. Songwriting was shared between Gordon and Post, though the two seldom collaborated. Rather, each would typically submit a complete song to the group and sing the lead vocal on that song, while the other would record backing vocals.

With producer Stephen Street, The Smiths created a subtly shaded and skilled album, one boasting a fuller production than before. Morrissey and Marr labored hard over the songs, working to expand the band's sound within their boundaries. In doing so they created the classic tracks "I Started Something I Couldn't Finish," "Girlfriend in a Coma," "Stop Me if You Think You've Heard This One Before," and "I Won't Share You". This, the highest charting of all their albums, easily offers a summary of the band's considerable strengths.
