La Sexorcisto: Devil Music [Import]
Regular price $36.99 Save $-36.99Music On Vinyl release. Replicating the magic of Guns N' Roses, Appetite for Destruction, Black Sabbath and Metallica, White Zombie has, in this major debut album, already begun to pave the path for the future of heavy metal. Their rhythms are complex, their riffs intense. They're a powerhouse of loud and proud. Vocalist Rob Zombie intrigues in shock value, and here he packs it in: these songs are about muscle cars, sleazy encounters, and a glorified trash culture. Songs include brash manifestos such as "Soul Crusher," indulgent macabre such as "Spiderbaby (Yeah-Yeah-Yeah)," and the sexually charged "Thrust!" This album is a celebratory act for the lover of the lewd-pressed on 180-gram vinyl and including a color insert with lyrics.

It Is What It Is (Red Vinyl)

Thundercat's new album It Is What It Is was co-produced with Flying Lotus and features musical contributions from Ty Dolla $ign, Childish Gambino, Lil B, Kamasi Washington, BADBADNOTGOOD, Louis Cole, Steve Lacy, Steve Arrington, and Zack Fox.
It Is What It Is follows his game-changing third album Drunk (2017). That record completed his transition from virtuoso bassist to bonafide star and cemented his reputation as a unique voice that transcends genre. "This album is about love, loss, life and the ups and downs that come with that," Bruner says about It Is What It Is. "It's a bit tongue-in-cheek, but at different points in life you come across places that you don't necessarily understand...some things just aren't meant to be understood."
The unruly bounce of single "Black Qualls" is classic Thundercat, teaming up with Steve Lacy (The Internet) and Funk icon Steve Arrington (Slave). It's another example of Stephen Lee Bruner's desire to highlight the lineage of his music and pay his respects to the musicians who inspired him. Discovering Arrington's output in his late teens, Bruner says he fell in love with his music immediately: "The tone of the bass, the way his stuff feels and moves, it resonated through my whole body."

Pornography
Regular price $27.98 Save $-27.98Pornography is the fourth studio album by English rock band The Cure, originally released on May 4th, 1982 by the Fiction Records. Preceded by the non-album single "Charlotte Sometimes" late the previous year, Pornography was the band's first album with a new producer, Phil Thornalley, and was recorded at RAK Studios from January to April. The sessions saw the group on the brink of collapse, with heavy drug use, band in-fighting and group leader Robert Smith's depression fueling the album's musical and lyrical content. Pornography represents the conclusion of the group's early dark, gloomy musical phase which began with Seventeen Seconds in 1980. - Following it's release, bass guitarist Simon Gallup left the band and the Cure switched to a much brighter and more radio-friendly new wave sound. While poorly received by critics at the time of release, Pornography was their most popular album to date, reaching number 8 in the UK charts. Pornography has since gone on to gain acclaim from critics, and is now considered an important milestone in the development of the gothic rock genre.

Villains
Regular price $44.98 Save $-44.98Hundreds of epic shows, memory lapses, unexplained injuries, one yearlong detour with Iggy Pop and multiple Grammy nominations later, Queens Of The Stone Age reemerge from the desert newly scarred and somehow strangely prettier with lucky seventh album, Villains, out on Matador Records. "The title Villains isn't a political statement," explains frontman Joshua Homme. "It has nothing to do with Trump or any of that shit. It's simply 1) a word that looks fantastic and 2) a comment on the three versions of every scenario: yours, mine and what actually happened...Everyone needs someone or something to rail against – their villain – same as it ever was. You can't control that. The only thing you can really control is when you let go."
Produced by Mark Ronson and co-produced by Mark Rankin and mixed by Alan Moulder, Villains is the first full album offering from Queens Of The Stone Age since 2013's ...Like Clockwork gave the band its first #1 album in the U.S. Like the stunning artwork of returning illustrator Boneface, the sonic signatures of the lineup that took ...Like Clockwork' around the world and back – founder/guitarist/vocalist/lyricist Homme, Troy Van Leeuwen (guitar, keys), Michael Shuman (bass), Dean Fertita (keys, guitar), Jon Theodore (drums) – are as unmistakable as ever, though coexisting with sufficient new twists to induce recurring double takes. As Homme himself puts it, "The most important aspect of making this record was redefining our sound, asking and answering the question ‘what do we sound like now?' If you can't make a great first record, you should just stop – but if you can make a great record but you keep making records and your sound doesn't evolve, you become a parody of that original sound."
Of his role working within such a closed and confident ecosystem as Queens Of The Stone Age, Ronson says, "Queens are and have always been my favorite rock n roll band ever since I walked into Tower on Sunset and bought ‘Rated R' in the summer of 2000, so it was incredibly surreal to be welcomed into their secret, pirate clan – or the ‘jacuzzi' as Josh likes to call it. I also knew that my super fandom alone would not keep me in the jacuzzi. There were moments during the making of the album in which I was aware I was watching my musical heroes craft something that was sure to become one of my favorite moments on any Queens album. And to have some part in that felt like being in a dream – a very heavy, dark, wonderful dream."
Longtime Queens cohort co-producer Mark Rankin added, "After the baptism of fire that was ...Like Clockwork, I was excited to get into the studio again with the challenge of pushing the sound for this record, especially with the the addition of Ronson into the creative mix. We wanted to evolve the production to be processed in a modern way yet be totally organic and still performed fully live, like lifting a veil and what you thought was electronic is actually live and things are not as they first appear...What we've made is forward looking yet unmistakably Queens."

Regular price $28.98 Save $-28.98Arriving mere months after their initial assault, The Runaways crank up the intensity on their dominant second album, painting stark pictures of teenage rebellion across a stunning set of originals. This final album featuring original vocalist Cherie Currie, Queens Of Noise displays advances in The Runaways' songwriting and playing while keeping their take-no-prisoners attitude totally intact. Released in January 1977, Queens Of Noise finds The Runaways out to prove they were not some novelty act, but a genuine rock and roll animal. The album kicks off with the title track, written by Billy Bizeau (keyboardist for the Quick, another band associated with Kim Fowley, the man "behind" The Runaways), and it blasts out like a declaration of rock and roll as sung by Joan Jett. "Take It Or Leave It," written by Jett, follows and shows the ladies were more than able to hold their own against other hard rockers of the era.

Recording and production were finished two months later, and the album was released on April 8, 1994 on Epitaph Records. Smash incorporates elements of punk rock and grunge. Peaking at number four on the US Billboard 200, it has sold over 11 million copies worldwide, making it the best-selling independent label album of all time. And Out Come the Wolves, Smash was responsible for bringing punk rock back into mainstream, and helped define the sound of the emerging pop punk scene in the 1990s. As a fan-favorite, the album received generally positive reviews from critics and garnered attention from major labels, including Columbia Records, with whom The Offspring would sign in 1996. Smash is the only release where the band was referred to as "Offspring".
