The band were destined for big things with the album charting at #15 in the UK and #51 in the US. Produced by Tom Allom (Judas Priest, Black Sabbath), it featured many of the band's live favorites and some updated versions of early singles. The album achieved platinum status in 1989.

Black Vinyl. Better Oblivion Community Center is a brand new band comprising the formidable talents of Phoebe Bridgers and Conor Oberst, two of the most lauded American songwriters of the past several years. Written and recorded in Los Angeles during the summer of 2018, their self-titled debut album will be released on Dead Oceans in early 2019. The pair first collaborated on Bridgers' 2017 single, "Would You Rather", taken from her acclaimed debut album Stranger In The Alps. They teamed up again for a recording of Oberst's "LAX" in the fall of 2018. Co-produced by Bridgers, Oberst and long time Oberst/Bright Eyes collaborator Andy LeMaster, Better Oblivion Community Center features the work of several talented friends: Yeah Yeah Yeahs' guitarist Nick Zinner appears on two tracks (first single "Dylan Thomas" and "Dominoes") while Carla Azur (Autolux, Jack White) plays drums on half of the album. Dawes' rhythm section Wylie Gelber and Griffin Goldsmith appear on the other half. Songwriter Christian Lee Hutson contributes guitar and Anna Butterss provides bass. Bridgers and Oberst are currently putting together a live band to tour in March and April.

AM was produced by James Ford and co-produced by Ross Orton at Sage & Sound Recording, LA and Rancho de la Luna, Joshua Tree. The album was engineered by Ian Shea and mixed by Tchad Blake. Josh Homme, Pete Thomas and Bill Ryder-Jones all make guest appearances on AM as do the words of John Cooper Clarke, on the track "I Wanna Be Yours."

Cage THE ELEPHANT is a Bowling Green, Kentucky-based five piece band consisting of Matt Shultz (vocals), his brother Brad (guitar) and their friends Daniel Titchenor (bass), Lincoln Parish (guitar) and Jared Champion (drums). Matt, Brad and Daniel grew up on an alternative religious commune started by their ex-hippie parents. Pop music was strictly forbidden so their discovery of key punk and rock influences was covert and somewhat recent. The essence of Jimi Hendrix, Green Day, White Stripes and Kings of Leon, among others, fuels Cage's libertine, over-the-top rock explosions. Appearances at Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, and a tour with Queens of the Stone Age provided the band with critical early live exposure. They then relocated to the UK for a period of time, where their debut self-titled album was released in mid-2008. It has sold over 40, 000 copies to date in the UK, driven by a Top 40 charting single and extensive touring there, including memorable performances at sold-out Reading and Leeds festivals. Cage the Elephant now returns to the land of their origin, exultant, intemperate, and ready to conquer.

The Pixies Wave Of Mutilation: Best Of The Pixies on 2LP

One of the most revered college-radio bands of the late 1980s and early '90s, the Pixies combined smart yet surreal pop with jagged, punk-influenced rock and, oddly enough, broke up just as the alternative music scene went mainstream. Fueled by Black Francis's oft-maniacal vocals and bizarrely catchy songs, the Boston-based quartet, rounded out by bassist/vocalist Kim Deal, guitarist Joey Santiago and drummer David Lovering, consistently crafted fascinating albums during their brief but headstrong run. This 23-track collection, released in tandem with their highly anticipated 2004 reunion tour, captures many of their finest moments.

Proceeding semi-chronologically, Wave Of Mutilation begins with the rambunctious ditty "Bone Machine." Other early gems include the strange anthem "Holiday Song," the anthropomorphic ode "Caribou" and Deal's signature song, "Gigantic." The band's beloved 1989 album, Doolittle, is amply represented by seven songs, including the pleading "Hey," the mischievous "Monkey Gone to Heaven," the fierce "Debaser" and the pop-perfect "Here Comes Your Man." Latter-day tunes include rockers such as "Dig for Fire," "Alec Eiffel" and "Planet of Sound," along with two B-sides, "Into the White" and an excellent cover of Neil Young's "Winterlong." If you're looking for the Pixies motherlode, this is it.

Limited 180gm vinyl LP pressing. 50th Anniversary remastered audio. American Beauty is the fifth studio album by rock band The Grateful Dead. Released November 1, 1970, by Warner Bros. Records, the album continued the folk rock and country music style of their previous album Workingman's Dead, issued earlier in the year. Though the Americana approach is still evident in the songwriting, comparatively the sound focused more on folk harmonies and major-key melodies, showing influence from Bob Dylan and Crosby, Stills, Nash, & Young.

When Temple Of The Dog released their sole album in 1991, nobody expected it to be one of the most iconic albums of the 90s. The project came together from the ashes of Mother Love Bone following the drug overdose of its frontman Andrew Wood, Chris Cornell's close friend and roommate. Devastated, Cornell wrote two songs ("Say Hello 2 Heaven" and "Reach Down") in tribute and he was keen to record them as soon as Soundgarden returned from tour. Instead of his regular band, however, Cornell approached Stone Gossard and Jeff Ament, who were still grieving and trying to piece their lives back together after the demise of Mother Love Bone.

Adopting the name Temple Of The Dog (the name deriving from a lyric in Mother Love Bone's "Man Of Golden Words"), the impromptu grunge supergroup was completed by the addition of future Pearl Jam lead guitarist Mike McCready and Soundgarden (and later Pearl Jam) drummer Matt Cameron. Initially, the plan was to rehearse and record Cornell's new songs simply for a one-off single release, but after TOTD started jamming on additional new material and working up some demos written by Gossard, Ament and Cameron, the focus changed to recording a full-length album. Gossard, Ament, and McCready were also simultaneously forming a new band, which more than six months later would be known as Pearl Jam with vocalist Eddie Vedder as its frontman. Vedder would also sing backup vocals on three of the Temple of the Dog album's songs.

The record's go-to tracks are surely "Say Hello 2 Heaven" and "Hunger Strike." Cornell laid his soul bare on the former, delivering an intimate tribute to his fallen friend. The album's dark horse, the scarred and emotional "Hunger Strike," meanwhile, featured a compelling duet between Cornell and the still unknown Vedder. With grunge in vogue by the summer of '92, Pearl Jam's Ten and Soundgarden's Badmotorfinger were both selling in droves. Accordingly, Temple of the Dog rapidly climbed into the higher echelons of the US Billboard 200, where it eventually peaked at No. 5, selling well over a million copies and yielding a platinum disc for the band.

Limited 180 gram audiophile vinyl LP repressing of this album by the Manchester post-punk icons featuring the original Peter Saville designed packaging. 1979's Unknown Pleasures features such landmark songs as "New Dawn Fades", "She's Lost Control", and "Disorder". Originally named Warsaw, the band consisted of singer Ian Curtis, guitarist and keyboardist Bernard Sumner, bassist Peter Hook, and drummer Stephen Morris. Formed by Sumner and Hook right after they attended a Sex Pistols gig, Joy Division transcended their punk roots to develop a sound and style that made them one of the pioneers of the post-punk movement. In May 1980, on the eve of the band's debut American tour, Curtis, aged 23, committed suicide. After Curtis's death, the remaining members continued as New Order, achieving critical and commercial success. Today Joy Division are seen as one of the most influential bands of the late 1970s.

Featuring previously unreleased versions of some of their most well known material like 'She', 'Hollywood Babylon', 'Horror Business', 'Teenagers From Mars', 'I Turned Into a Martian', 'Astro Zombies', 'Mommy Can I Go Out and Kill Tonight?', 'Die, Die My Darling', 'Earth A.D.', 'Devilock', and 'Green Hell'; all of which display the simplistic musical structure and Glen Danzig's unholy howl. Even though the production quality is poor to say the least, that doesn't take away from the album as a whole, and in the end this is a must have.
