Blue Rev (Marbled Blue Vinyl)
Regular price $28.00 Save $-28.00Limited blue colored vinyl LP pressing. Alvvays' third album, the nervy joyride that is the compulsively lovable Blue Rev, doesn't simply reassert what's always been great about Alvvays but instead reimagines it. They have, in part and sum, never been better. There are newly aggressive moments here-the gleeful and snarling guitar solo at the heart of opener "Pharmacist," or the explosive cacophony near the middle of "Many Mirrors." And there are some purely beautiful spans, too-the church- organ fantasia of "Fourth Figure," or the blue-skies bridge of "Belinda Says." But the power and magic of Blue Rev stems from Alvvays' ability to bridge ostensible binaries, to fuse elements that seem antithetical in single songs-cynicism and empathy, anger and play, clatter and melody, the soft and the steely. The luminous poser kiss-off of "Velveteen," the lovelorn confusion of "Tile by Tile," the panicked but somehow reassuring rush of "After the Earthquake."
Harry's House - CD
Regular price $15.00 Save $-15.00Colored with tasteful harmonies and warm funk/R&B/future-soul sounds, Harry's House is the fully-realized third studio album from Grammy Award-winning superstar Harry Styles. Introduced by the record-breaking, reflective ode "As It Was," the vibrant 13-track collection was recorded in multiple locations across the UK, Los Angeles and Tokyo from 2020 to 2021. Self-described as his "biggest and the most fun, but by far the most intimate," Harry's House was written by Styles alongside frequent collaborators Kid Harpoon, Tyler Johnson, and Mitch Rowland. It follows-up the pop sensation's 2019 sophomore effort Fine Line and his 2017 self-titled solo debut.
In his Better Homes & Gardens cover story Styles revealed that his third record features more domesticated lyrics about "sitting in the garden" and "maple syrup, coffee, pancakes for two," with the realization that a "home feeling isn't something that you get from a house. It's more of an internal thing. You realize that when you stop for a minute." He adds, "Finally, it doesn't feel like my life is over if this album isn't a commercial success. I just want to make stuff that is right, that is fun, in terms of the process, that I can be proud of for a long time, that my friends can be proud of, that my family can be proud of, that my kids will be proud of one day."

Death By Rock And Roll
Regular price $33.00 Save $-33.00The Pretty Reckless' new album Death By Rock And Roll is easily their most ambitious release yet. It was written through the heartbreaking losses of Chris Cornell, who was one of frontwoman Taylor Momsen's musical muses, and longtime collaborator Kato Khandwala. The titular single became their fifth No. 1 at Active Rock Radio, a first for a female-fronted group.
The Pretty Reckless joined forces with Matt Cameron and Kim Thayil for "Only Love Can Save Me Now." Tracked at the legendary London Bridge Studio in Seattle, it marked the first time Matt and Kim recorded at the space since Soundgarden's Louder Than Love. Nearing the six-minute mark, it trudges through detuned bliss and an off kilter time signature before Kim conjures a slippery psychedelic solo as Taylor admits, "I want to be saved from the sound," over Matt's percussive wizardry.
Elsewhere, Rage Against The Machine and Audioslave guitarist Tom Morello lends his axe to the rambunctious and raucous "And So It Went." Then, there's "25" where Taylor's gravelly timbre quakes above an ominous funereal march and echoes of strings. Meanwhile, "Got So High" bleeds into a heavenly stoned refrain as an acoustic guitar rings out. After the nostalgic "Rock and Roll Heaven," the record sails off to Valhalla on "Harley Darling" ushered along by harmonica, the sound of an engine revving and a devilish dedication.
"After years of putting our blood sweat and tears into the recording I'm so excited for you all to hear it," says Momsen. "The next era has begun." Double vinyl LP with special etching on Side D.
Halloween Kills (Orange Vinyl)
Regular price $24.00 Save $-24.00It's just five notes plucked out on a piano, so sparsely arranged that it feels like barely more than a sketch, so simple that an untrained player can easily pick it up, but it's one of cinema's greatest musical accomplishments. By now, John Carpenter's hypnotic theme to his 1978 horror masterpiece Halloween has embodied slasher-stalker anxiety for generations of filmgoers, and woven itself so into pop culture that it's become musical shorthand for the entire horror genre. And like the seemingly unkillable Michael Meyers, it's back once again.
In 2018, Carpenter returned to the franchise his iconic creation spawned for the first time since 1982's Halloween III: Season of the Witch, erasing the 40 years of sequels and reboots that happened under other filmmakers, and returning the story to his original vision. While directing duties for the new Halloween and its sequels have been turned over to David Gordon Green, Carpenter has stayed on to provide them with their unmistakable sonic identity, as integral to Halloween as Michael Meyers' death's-face mask and glimmering butcher knife.
Carpenter has been composing and recording his own scores since he created the soundtrack to his first film, 1974's Dark Star, on a EMS VCS 3 modular synthesizer. While originally a cost-cutting measure, he continued scoring most of his films even after he started making multiplex staples in the 80s and 90s, with the soundtracks to the Halloween series, They Live, and Escape from New York becoming classics in their own right. Over the past two decades, Carpenter's directed only one feature (The Ward in 2010), but during that time he's come to be recognized as much for his musical vision as his filmography. His boldly assertive compositions and pioneering use of synthesizers have inspired musicians in cinema and far beyond. His influence has been felt from the underground to pop radio, and played a foundational role in the modern synthwave movement. Since 2015, Carpenter's released three albums of original music on Sacred Bones, created alongside Cody Carpenter and Daniel Davies, with remixes provided by some of his more notable fans.
Like the film itself, Carpenter's score to the second installment of the new Halloween trilogy, Halloween Kills, stays true to the spirit of what made the 1978 original great while bringing it firmly into the present. The music is unmistakably Carpenter: the sinister vintage synth tones, the breath-stealing sense of menace that he conjures with just a few dissonant notes. But with a broader sonic palette, new digital techniques at his disposal, and a deeper sense of musicality, the Halloween Kills score is the work of a master artist who nearly 50 years into his career continues to push his creative limits and find new ways to thrill and terrify his fans.

Ace of Spades
Regular price $29.00 Save $-29.00Vinyl Reissue of Motorhead's ! "One of the best metal albums by any band, ever" holds up today quite admirably together the critics opinion about "Ace Of Spades". The fourth studio album by Mötorhead shows the band at the peak of their creativity. Singer Lemmy will later claim, "we've got him for the first time to sing and not to fool around screaming," and the rest of the band playing under the guidance of producer Vic Maile so compact and stringent as never before.
Low
Regular price $27.00 Save $-27.00January 1977 saw the release of the first installment of what came to be known as David Bowie's Berlin trilogy. That album was the Bowie/Tony Visconti produced Low and it was followed later the same year by Heroes with the trilogy completed in 1979 by the arrival of Lodger. Most of the music across the three albums wasn't even recorded in Berlin, the unifying factor actually being Bowie, Visconti and Brian Eno.
Much has been written about the brilliance and braveness of the music on Low, and rightly so. It's probably hard to imagine with the ears of today how absolutely unique the record sounded back in 1977. Apart from the obvious slicing of the album into two distinct sides, Visconti gifted Low that distinctive drum sound, among other things. Though Low was a record purportedly informed by the likes of Kraftwerk and other German musicians of the time, it actually sounded far more organic and not at all mechanized. This was in no small measure due to the nucleus of the band Bowie had favored during this whole period (starting with Station To Station), of Carlos Alomar (guitar), Dennis Davis (drums) and George Murray (bass).
The album was a commercial success, peaking at No. 2 on the UK Albums Chart and No. 11 on the US Billboard Pop Albums chart. "Sound and Vision" and "Be My Wife" were released as singles; the former reaching No. 3 on the UK Singles Chart. Low sounds as fresh today as it ever did...thirty nine minutes of untouchable genius. Prepare to be transported by its gloriously uplifting melancholia and majestic musical language from a time and place that has yet to arrive.
Reunions
Regular price $23.00 Save $-23.00Grammy Award-winning singer, songwriter and musician Jason Isbell and his band the 400 Unit return with the highly anticipated new album, Reunions. Produced by Grammy Award-winning producer Dave Cobb and recorded at Nashville's historic RCA Studio A, the album features 10 new songs written by Isbell including the jangly call to action single, "Be Afraid."
Reunions is Isbell's seventh full-length studio album and the fourth released with his band, the 400 Unit: Derry deBorja (piano, keyboard, organ, omnichord), Chad Gamble (drums, tambourine), Jimbo Hart (bass), Amanda Shires (fiddle) and Sadler Vaden (acoustic guitar, electric guitar). The record also includes background vocals from special guests David Crosby (Crosby, Stills & Nash, the Byrds) and Jay Buchanan (Rival Sons).
Of the release, Isbell shares, "There are a lot of ghosts on this album. Sometimes the songs are about the ghosts of people who aren't around anymore, but they're also about who I used to be, the ghost of myself. I found myself writing songs that I wanted to write fifteen years ago, but in those days, I hadn't written enough songs to know how to do it yet. Just now have I been able to pull it off to my own satisfaction. In that sense it's a reunion with the me I was back then."

The album followed up on it's predecessor's diverse musical tendencies and elaborate sound, while also having a more focused and consistent theme and aesthetic throughout. As one of the most influential rock groups in the late eighties, Living Colour proved that blending Hard Rock with Funk, Soul, Rap, and Punk can be a very successful undertaking. Their debut Vivid (1988) took some time to build up steam but eventually turned heads worldwide as the sheer quality of this album inevitably rose to the surface. Vivid spawned the hits "Glamour Boys" featuring Mick Jagger on backing vocals, and "Cult Of Personality", which was awarded a Grammy Award for Best Hard Rock Performance in 1989. The single "Funny Vibe" features Chuck D and Flavor Flav from Public Enemy.
