Monty Python's Life of Brian was released in 1979 alongside the film of the same name. It contains scenes from the film interrupted by linking sections performed by Eric Idle and Graham Chapman. The album opens with a brief rendition of "Hava Nagila" on Scottish bagpipes, which had earlier been considered for use in a scene later cut from the film. In common with the controversy surrounding the film, the album was banned in Ireland after Father Brian D'Arcy highlighted how it had worked it's way through a loophole in the country's censorship laws, claiming "Anybody who buys the record and finds it funny must have something wrong with their mentality". Nevertheless, the album reached No.63 in the UK Albums Chart.

The horror master John Carpenter is back with his Halloween franchise

collaborators Daniel Davies and Cody Carpenter for their infectious new soundtrack to the 2022 adaptation of Stephen King's Firestarter. This marks the first official soundtrack that the team has composed together outside of the Halloween franchise and their inspiration and evolution as a creative team is on full display. The film is a new take on the thriller examining a girl with extraordinary pyrokinetic powers and her fight to protect her family and herself from sinister forces that seek to capture and control her. The film releases theatrically on May 13th, 2022 and stars Zac Efron, Sydney Lemmon, Ryan Kiera, is directed by Keith Thomas (The Vigil) and created by the producers of The Invisible Man. The story has become a classic and the intense nature of the film creates a canvas for a dynamic soundtrack. The Firestarter soundtrack utilizes some of the best elements of Carpenter's famous musical repertoire and charts exciting new territory. Classic Movie Melodies (The Godfather, Gone With The Wind, Dr. Zhivago Etc.)

Though it was directed by Tony Scott, the 1993 film True Romance displayed all the signature themes and images of its writer, Quentin Tarantino, from its grisly violence to its B-movie homages to its gleeful amorality. And the same could be said of the soundtrack; alongside composer Hans Zimmer’s riff on Carl Orff (which itself was an homage to another violent road movie, Badlands), True Romance offered a playlist that smacked of Tarantino in its embrace of rockabilly (Charlie Sexton, Chris Isaak), grunge (Soundgarden), honky-tonk (Shelby Lynne), and romantic machismo (Robert Palmer’s take on “[Love Is] The Tender Trap”). Vinyl would seem a natural for such a “warped” soundtrack; and, for this reissue, we’ve crafted a custom jacket sporting production stills from the film. What’s more, this release of True Romance comes in turquoise “Alabama Worley” vinyl in honor of the sartorial hue Patricia Arquette's character favored in the film! Consider this a colorful homage to one of the greatest cult classic films of all time.

This 45 RPM 12" LP includes the complete 14 track score plus never before heard music - also celebrating 75 years of Peanuts®. The vinyl is made out of recycles record materials. The classic special was written and created by Charles Schulz, directed by Phil Roman, and produced by Bill Melendez and Lee Mendelson. Guaraldi's score is finally available on CD, vinyl and digital. The record was mixed and mastered for audiophiles, jazz lovers, and Peanuts fans everywhere from the original 2" session tapes to a 192kHz/24bit master. Beyond the composer's playing, Seward McCain plays electric bass, Mark Rosengarden plays drums, and John Scott Trotter supervised the music.
