2014 debut album from the acclaimed Irish musician. Following up his two EPs, he co- produced the new album with Ron Kirwan (PJ Harvey and Depeche Mode). Ian MacKaye and Jeff Nelson formed Minor Threat in 1980 with Lyle Preslar and Brian Baker. The band released two 7"s in 1981 that quickly established the group and Dischord as major forces in the new American hardcore scene. In the fall of ‘82 Steve Hansgen joined to play bass while Brian moved to second guitar. Minor Threat recorded Out Of Step and toured extensively as a five piece until June of '83 when Hansgen left the band. Minor Threat continued for several months as a four piece before calling it quits later that year. Out of Step was originally released after the band broke up in 1984. This edition of Out Of Step is re-issued with updated graphics (from the original artwork) and has been re-cut, upgraded to 45RPM and includes an accompanying download coupon.

Limited vinyl LP repressing. Eponymous is the first greatest hits and the second compilation album by R.E.M., released in 1988. It was their last authorized release on I.R.S. Records, to whom they had been contracted since 1982, having just signed with Warner Bros. Records. Eponymous is notable for its inclusion of several rare or alternative versions of known tracks, most notably the soundtrack contribution "Romance", which had not previously appeared on an R.E.M. record. Spanning from the initial single release of "Radio Free Europe" to the previous year's breakthrough hit album Document, Eponymous provides a fair overview of R.E.M.'s early work. On the backside of the LP cover was a photograph of singer Michael Stipe with the words "They Airbrushed My Face" above his head.

By the release of Songs To Learn & Sing, Echo & The Bunnymen were a force to be reckoned with, pioneering the post-punk, new wave scene having released four highly acclaimed albums: Crocodiles, Heaven Up Here, Porcupine and Ocean Rain.

Originally released in 1985, Songs To Learn & Sing is a comprehensive collection of Echo & The Bunnymen's first four albums, from their second single "Rescue", to "The Cutter" and the anthemic "The Killing Moon". Also included is "Bring On The Dancing Horses", a single launched at the time in conjunction with Songs To Learn & Sing.

One of the most acclaimed British rockers from the 1980s, this legendary band formed in Liverpool in 1978 and were forefathers of the neo-psychedelic movement. Their line up consisted of vocalist Ian McCulloch, guitarist Will Sergeant, bass player Les Pattinson and drummer Pete de Freitas, eventually replacing the original drum machine. The band's cult status eventually waned with mainstream success in 1983 after they scored a UK top 10 hit with "The Cutter" and attendant album Porcupine which hit #2 in the UK. 1984's album Ocean Rain is considered a landmark post-punk release, featuring the lead single "The Killing Moon".

The band split in 1988 but regrouped in 1997, releasing an album in 2014 that was their first UK Top 40 entry since 1999. The band's popularity never quite made the same impact in the US as it did in Europe so they are ripe for rediscovery for anyone interested in bands such as Suede, Radiohead, Arcade Fire, Blur, Interpol and Oasis.

To say that Nirvana's third and ultimately final studio album IN UTERO was 1993's most polarizing record would be the understatement of a decade. The unadorned sonic rawness of Steve Albini's recording laid bare every primal nuance of the most confrontational yet vulnerable material Kurt Cobain, Krist Novoselic and Dave Grohl would ever record. And with it's 1991 predecessor NEVERMIND having sold some 30 million copies, singlehandedly returning honest rock n roll to the top of the pop charts, IN UTERO was essentially the first record Nirvana would make with any expectations from the public. Black Vinyl. Better Oblivion Community Center is a brand new band comprising the formidable talents of Phoebe Bridgers and Conor Oberst, two of the most lauded American songwriters of the past several years. Written and recorded in Los Angeles during the summer of 2018, their self-titled debut album will be released on Dead Oceans in early 2019. The pair first collaborated on Bridgers' 2017 single, "Would You Rather", taken from her acclaimed debut album Stranger In The Alps. They teamed up again for a recording of Oberst's "LAX" in the fall of 2018. Co-produced by Bridgers, Oberst and long time Oberst/Bright Eyes collaborator Andy LeMaster, Better Oblivion Community Center features the work of several talented friends: Yeah Yeah Yeahs' guitarist Nick Zinner appears on two tracks (first single "Dylan Thomas" and "Dominoes") while Carla Azur (Autolux, Jack White) plays drums on half of the album. Dawes' rhythm section Wylie Gelber and Griffin Goldsmith appear on the other half. Songwriter Christian Lee Hutson contributes guitar and Anna Butterss provides bass. Bridgers and Oberst are currently putting together a live band to tour in March and April.

The Foo Fighters Echoes, Silence, Patience and Grace On Vinyl LP

In 1997, Foo Fighters teamed with alt-rock production cornerstone Gil Norton to make their best album, The Colour and the Shape. Ten years later, they've regrouped with Norton for a disc that's more sophisticated and diverse, if a tad less rockin'. The curveballs include "Stranger Things Have Happened," a solo soul-searcher where leader Dave Grohl's accompanied by just his acoustic guitar and a ticking metronome, and "Ballad of the Beaconsfield Miners," an acoustic guitar duet for Grohl and guest virtuoso Kaki King. Plus "Summers End" tickles the Foos' classic-rock fetish with a dead-on Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young arrangement. There's still enough of the intense, snarling power-pop that's Foo Fighters' longtime forte. "The Pretender," "Erase/Replace," and "Long Road to Ruin" combine sheer thrust, zeal, and melody like no other group currently on the charts. Yet the finale, "Home," makes its clear that this is a changed band--or, at least, that Grohl's a changed man. With only his piano for company, Grohl's pleading voice reveals fragile layers of insecurity and loneliness as he sings "all I want is to be home." Seems this rock & roll road warrior's mellowed some, albeit without compromising Foo Fighters' vitality.

I Know I'm Funny haha is Webster's most realized manifestation yet of this emotional and musical alchemy. Continuing to bloom from her 2019 breakthrough and Secretly Canadian debut Atlanta Millionaires Club, Webster's sound draws as much from the lap-steel singer-songwriter pop of the 1970s and teardrop country tunes as it does from the audacious personalities of her city's rap and R&B community. The album began for Webster with the stirring ballad "In a Good Way," as in "You make me want to cry in a good way"-an instantclassic Faye Webster one-liner. It's beguilingly simple, the kind of melody and arrangement that seem to have existed forever. A sense of relief charges the neo-psychedelic pop of "Cheers," where Webster experiments with an overdriven guitar tone. She also collaborated, on "Overslept," with the Japanese artist Mei Ehara, who she calls the biggest influence on her new music. Webster's music is full of personality. Many of her songs contain bits of girl-group-esque talk-singing, which color her atypical storysongs. Webster says she's in a growth mindset, pushing herself to learn more, to be more vulnerable. "Growth is really important to me," she says. "I hope people will relate to my songs, and not just be like 'this is a good record' but 'this makes me feel something. This is making me think differently, this is making me question things.' I told myself a few years ago that I was going to be more honest in my songwriting, that honesty is the best route to take with music. If I have a voice and people are listening to me, I'm not going to waste it."

Tidal is the debut studio album by American singer-songwriter Fiona Apple, released in the United States on July 23, 1996, by Work Records and Columbia Records (Sony Music).. according to Nielsen SoundScan. It was certified 3x platinum by the RIAA in December 1997. Tidal produced six singles: "Shadowboxer", "Slow Like Honey", "Sleep to Dream", "The First Taste", "Criminal" and "Never Is a Promise". "Criminal", the album's most popular single, won a 1998 Grammy Award for "Best Female Rock Vocal Performance" and was named the single of 1997 in a poll of Rolling Stone readers. The music video for "The First Taste" never aired in the U.S. The 2005 album I've Got My Own Hell to Raise by Bettye LaVette is titled after a lyric in "Sleep to Dream", and includes a cover of that song. Van Halen set quite a precedent with its self-titled 1978 debut, one of the most landscape-shifting albums ever released. How does a band follow something like that? By making a record that's even better. And hard rock tour de force Van Halen II surely fits the bill. Granted, by the time this sophomore set appeared in late 1979, the world had already been introduced to Eddie Van Halen's pyrotechnic guitar skills and trick bag of jaw-dropping solos. And everyone knew about David Lee Roth's flamboyant singing, oversexed machismo, and vaudeville antics.

But the quartet ups the quotient level throughout the mighty Van Halen II, which swaggers to a flawless batch of songs and phenomenal playing. There's not a weak moment or note here. Moreover, as Eddie consistently delivers searing fills, acrobatic leads, and gravity-defying phrasings, Roth steps it up a notch, inserting himself in the role of the come-hither vocalist whose self-aware humor balances his glammed-up, spandex-clad, riser-leaping persona.

Vinyl LP pressing. Commemorating the 20th anniversary of Outpost Records, Eight Arms To Hold You is the second full-length studio album from the alt-rock band, originally released in 2007. This was the last album to feature original band members Nina Gordon, Louise Post, Steve Lack, and Jim Shapiro until the 2015 reunion album. The album features hit "Volcano Girls". The title of the album is a reference to the working title for The Beatles' film eventually titled Help! Named after Veruca Salt, the spoiled rich girl from the children's book Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (and it's 1971 film adaptation Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory), Veruca Salt was formed in Chicago. Songwriting was shared between Gordon and Post, though the two seldom collaborated. Rather, each would typically submit a complete song to the group and sing the lead vocal on that song, while the other would record backing vocals.
