From the Fires
Regular price $30.00 Save $-30.00Retro-rockers Greta Van Fleet issue their 2019 Grammy Award-winning (Best Rock Album) collection, From The Fires for the first time on vinyl! Originally released in November 2017, the eight-track set featured four brand new Greta Van Fleet recordings as well as the four critically-acclaimed tracks from the band's breakout EP Black Smoke Rising, including No. 1 singles "Highway Tune" and follow-up "Safari Song."
The four new tracks were recorded at Rust Belt Studios in Detroit and produced by the same duo that helmed Black Smoke Rising, Al Sutton and Marlon Young. According to the band's vocalist Josh Kiszka, compiling the four Black Smoke Rising tracks with the four new recordings made for an ideal grouping. "All eight of these songs share a theme of basic humanity," said Kiszka. Also included are distinct covers of Sam Cooke's "A Change Is Gonna Come" and Fairport Convention's "Meet on the Ledge."
The cover art for From The Fires was conceived by Josh who said, "When we were all kids, our extended families and friends spent part of every summer together at a place called Yankee Springs. We were out in the middle of the woods, and every night, we'd sit around a campfire, play music and tell stories. I always loved that as it reminded me of ancient times when people would gather around the fires with the tribes' elders telling fables of wisdom and courage, passing down human history. That concept is where the cover art and title come from."
Throwing Copper [Limit One Per Customer]
Regular price $30.00 Save $-30.00Initially released in April 1994, Throwing Copper cemented Live's position as one of the most instrumentally powerful and lyrically impactful bands of the modern alternative-rock era. Throwing Copper, which topped the Billboard 200 Albums chart a year after its initial release, also features a pair of No. 1 Modern Rock singles ("Lightning Crashes," "Selling The Drama") and has since been certified 8x multiplatinum by the RIAA, having sold over 8 million copies.
Produced by Jerry Harrison (Talking Heads) and recorded at Pachyderm Recording Studios in Cannon Falls, MN, Throwing Copper built upon the earnest sonic template the tight-knit four-piece band from York, PA established with their compelling 1991 debut album, Mental Jewelry. From the anthemic manifesto of "Selling the Drama" to the fervent declaration of "I Alone" to the unrelenting charge of "All Over You" to the emotional-rollercoaster journey of the epic "Lightning Crashes," Throwing Copper handily reinforced Live's drive to connect with their ever-expanding audience in as many ways as possible.
Frontman Ed Kowalczyk humbly recognizes how Throwing Copper continues to elicit indelible, deep-rooted feelings to this day, "The fact that these songs have become part of our fans' DNA – that this album still matters to them and there's still such an emotional connection – that is the real accomplishment. All of the other things are great, that there are all of these trophy moments to reminisce about. But at the end of the day, the process and the journey and the music transcend all of those."

Nirvana-Unplugged (2xLP)
Regular price $40.00 Save $-40.00Nirvana's MTV Unplugged in New York is reissued on 180g vinyl 2LP in celebration of the landmark record's 25th anniversary in November 2019. Expanded to include five rehearsal performances previously only available on the DVD edition, the anniversary release also features an exclusive gatefold jacket adorned with anniversary silver foil detail on the front and back cover.
1994's Unplugged In New York was the last Nirvana collection recorded before the suicide of alternative-rock icon Kurt Cobain and its stripped down, neo-acoustic arrangements and bridled fury caught many fans by surprise. However, the emotion and anguish revealed through the intimate performances here end up offering a new appreciation for the nuances of one of the greatest and most revered bands of their era, one that may have been on the verge of discovering a new sound and style. Standout tracks include stirring renditions of the Meat Puppets' "Plateau," "Oh, Me" and "Lake of Fire," the Vaselines' "Jesus Doesn't Want Me for a Sunbeam," David Bowie's "The Man Who Sold the World" and Leadbelly's "Where Did You Sleep Last Night?" along with band classics like "About A Girl," "Come As Your Are," "Pennyroyal Tea," and "All Apologies."
"Nirvana shine brightly on this striking live set because the volume is turned down just low enough to let Kurt Cobain's tortured vulnerability glow. The powerful, reverent covers of Lead Belly, David Bowie and (three) Meat Puppets songs sum up Nirvana as a haunted, theatrical and, ultimately, truly raw band." - No. 313 on Rolling Stone's '500 Greatest Albums of All Time'

One of the two masterpieces of the second half of their career as a rock band, The Beatles' "Magical Mystery Tour" is solid rock 'n' roll and songcraft on a lot of mind-altering substances. Nobody writes "I Am the Walrus" or "Strawberry Fields Forever" without having experienced a significant amount of LSD. Yet, the lads from Liverpool keep it together for other great tunes such as "Hello Goodbye," "Penny Lane," "Baby, You're a Rich Man" and the classic "All You Need Is Love." Mix that in with the high-energy title track, and you have one of The Beatles' best albums. This vinyl pressing contains the 2009 digital remaster of the album, making it sound more vibrant and electrifying than ever before.

Known for their explorative and restless sound, taking influence from old style rock like The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Neil Young and Pink Floyd as well as from electronica and hip hop, each of Radiohead's albums marks a cornerstone in their musical evolution. Debut album Pablo Honey (1993) was the band's warning shot and answer to grunge, a promising effort with Thom Yorke's vulnerable yet acerbic vocals already in place and a textured three-guitar dynamic that's strident one moment and wonderfully atmospheric the next. In terms of musical maturity, Radiohead was clearly years ahead of their time even at these early stages, yet the band was only scratching the surface with the strong-minded songwriting of "Stop Whispering" "Anyone Can Play Guitar" and surprise hit "Creep."

K.G.
Regular price $28.00 Save $-28.00Vinyl LP pressing. 2020 release. King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard return with K.G., their 16th since forming in 2010. In the wake of a global pandemic, it's a collection of songs composed and recorded remotely after the six members of the band retreated to their own homes scattered around Melbourne. K.G. is a pure distillation of the King Gizzard sound, one that cherry picks the best aspects of previous albums and contorts them into new shapes via defiantly non-western rock scales.
Brushfire Fairytales
Regular price $28.00 Save $-28.00From its humble beginnings, 2001's Brushfire Fairytales launched the meteoric career of the modern master of soft acoustic folk and surf rock, Jack Johnson. Cut to nearly 20 years later and the singer/songwriter's auspicious debut has stood the test of time selling over 2.5 million copies to date and continues to be one of the best sellers in his catalog. An ear for the irresistible – whether in the vocal delivery or the construction of a pop hook – certainly accounts for its success.
It starts with "Inaudible Melodies," a reference to the singer's laid-back, not to say reticent persona in the early days, and includes some lovely gems like "Flake," with Ben Harper on pedal steel. Only a minor hit, as a single, "Flake" still became a signature tune and live staple. The equally impressive "Drink the Water" is a face up to your fears type song. All have the magic of the campfire; honest, inclusive and warm-hearted tracks that bring folks together.
Remastered by Bernie Grundman from the original analog tapes, this is a true AAA edition pressed at RTI on HQ Vinyl 180g for unsurpassed quality and long life. A must for audiophiles and beach bums alike!

Cracked Rear View
Regular price $29.00 Save $-29.00With the rich, bluesy vocals of Darius Rucker and gleeful harmonies of guitarist Mark Bryan, bassist Dean Felber and drummer Jim "Soni" Sonefeld, Hootie & the Blowfish hit it big with their 1994 debut Cracked Rear View and smash singles "Hold My Hand," "Let Her Cry" and "Only Wanna Be With You."
The album had been out for six months before the band played on the Late Show with David Letterman where the maverick talk show host told his audience "If you don't have this album, there's something wrong with you." The day after the show aired, sales went from four or five thousand a week to 17,000 a week, and eventually No. 1 on the Billboard charts the following spring.
At the end of the year, Cracked Rear View and the band won two Grammy's - Best New Artist and Song of the Year by duo or group for "Let Her Cry." Cracked Rear View went on to earn the band Billboard's Band of the Year Award in 1996 and the RIAA's Diamond Award for sales of 10 million units. The cornerstone release remains the twelfth best selling album in music business history.
Be The Cowboy
Regular price $25.00 Save $-25.00The breakout success of 2016's Puberty 2 saw Mitski hailed as the new vanguard of indie rock, the one to save the genre from the white dudes who've historically dominated it. But the often overlooked aspect of being a rising star is the sheer amount of work that goes into it. "I had been on the road for a long time, which is so isolating, and had to run my own business at the same time," Mitski explains, "a lot of this record was me not having any feelings, being completely spent, but then trying to rally myself and wake up and get back to Mitski. I was feeling really nihilistic and trying to make pop songs."
We want our artists to be strong but we also expect them to be vulnerable. Rather than avoiding this dilemma, she addresses directly the power that comes from appearing impenetrable and loneliness that follows. "With a lot of the romantic infatuations I've had," she says, "when I look back, I wonder, Did I want them or did I want to be them? Did I love them or did I want to absorb whatever power they had? I decided I could just be my own cowboy figure that I so desire." In Be The Cowboy, Mitski delves into the loneliness of being a symbol and the loneliness of being someone, and how it can feel so much like being no one.

The Beatles were just about to make their big transition from mop-topped British Invaders to the innovators of psychedelic rock in the mid- to late-1960s on 1965's "Rubber Soul." Hybrid Theory
Regular price $29.00 Save $-29.00Hybrid Theory is the debut album by the American rock band Linkin Park, released on October 24, 2000 through Warner Bros. Records. The album was a commercial success, having been certified Diamond for sales of over 10 million units in the United States alone as of 2010, peaking at number two on the Billboard 200, and also reaching high positions on other charts worldwide. Recorded at NRG Recordings in North Hollywood, California, and produced by Don Gilmore, the album's lyrical themes deal with problems lead vocalist Chester Bennington experienced during his adolescence, including drug abuse and the constant fighting and divorce of his parents. Hybrid Theory takes it's title from the previous name of the band as well as the concept of music theory and combining different styles. Four singles were released from the album: "One Step Closer", "Crawling", "Paper cut", and "In the End", all of them being responsible for launching Linkin Park into mainstream popularity. While "In the End" was the most successful of the four, all of the singles in the album remain some of the band's most successful songs to date. Although "Runaway", "Points of Authority", and "My December" from the special edition bonus disc album were not released as singles, they were minor hits on alternative rock radio stations thanks to the success of all of the band's singles and the album. At the 2002 Grammy Awards, Hybrid Theory was nominated for Best Rock Album. The album is listed in the book 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die. It was ranked #11 on Billboard's Hot 200 Albums of the Decade.A special edition of Hybrid Theory was released March 11, 2002, a year and a half after it's original pressing. Hybrid Theory has sold 27 million copies worldwide, which makes it the best selling debut album of the 21st century. Linkin Park performed the album in it's entirety for the first time at the Download Festival on June 14, 2014.
