Traveling Wilburys Vol. 1
Regular price $31.98 Save $-31.98Vinyl LP pressing. Digitally remastered edition. The Traveling Wilburys Vol. 1 is the Grammy Award winning debut from The Traveling Wilburys (George Harrison, Jeff Lynne, Tom Petty, Bob Dylan and Roy Orbison) featuring the worldwide hits "Handle With Care" and "End Of The Line". The Traveling Wilburys (sometimes shortened to the Wilburys) were a British-American supergroup that recorded two albums, the first in 1988 and the second in 1990, though Orbison died before the second was recorded. George Harrison first mentioned the Traveling Wilburys during a radio interview with Bob Coburn on the Rockline radio station in February 1988. When asked what he planned to do as a follow-up for his Cloud Nine album, Harrison replied: "What I'd really like to do next is... to do an album with me and some of my mates... a few tunes, you know. Maybe the Traveling Wilburys... it's this new group I got: it's called the Traveling Wilburys, I'd like to do an album with them and later we can all do our own albums again." "Wilbury" was a slang term first used by Harrison during the recording of Cloud Nine with Jeff Lynne. Referring to recording errors created by some faulty equipment, Harrison jokingly remarked to Lynne, "We'll bury 'em in the mix". Thereafter, they used the term for any small error in performance and the term was used again when the group were together. Harrison suggested "The Trembling Wilburys" as the group's name; instead, Lynne suggested "Traveling", with which the group agreed.

Shake Your Money Maker (2020 Remaster)
Regular price $30.98 Save $-30.9830th Anniversary Vinyl LP Reissue with 2020 Remastered Audio!
1990's Shake Your Money Maker is the triple platinum debut album from The Black Crowes and the brothers Robinson named after Elmore James' classic blues number of the same name. Issued on Rick Rubin's Def American Recordings and produced by George Drakoulias, the blistering 10-song throwback is awash in vocal swagger and guitar hooks. One doesn't have to listen hard to pick up the breadcrumb trail of influences ranging from 60s and 70s groups like Aerosmith, The Rolling Stones, the Allman Brothers, to Faces and the Doobie Brothers. Picking up where their predecessors left off, the Crowes were equally adept at blending rock, soul, country and gospel into something that felt new and electric.
With swagger to spare, the very first track opens the album as a declaration and a promise to rock "Twice As Hard." From the screeching sounds of a car crash on "Thick N' Thin" to Rich Robinson's wondrous dexterity on "Struttin Blues," the whole album has that lighting in a bottle feeling and the raw energy of a live band who can't be contained. But the real success of the album relied upon a pair of No.1 mainstream rock singles, "She Talks to Angels" and "Hard To Handle," which reached the top spot on the Billboard Album Rock Tracks chart and No.26 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Shake Your Money Maker was evidence of a band that was mature beyond their years and primed to take their place in rock history rather than just study it. Original album remastered in 2020.

Animals
Regular price $29.98 Save $-29.98Limited 180gm vinyl LP pressing. Animals is the tenth studio album by Pink Floyd, originally released in January 1977. It is a concept album that provides a scathing critique of the social-political conditions of late-70s Britain, and presents a marked change in musical style from their earlier work. Animals was recorded at the band's studio, Britannia Row, in London, but it's production was punctuated by the early signs of discord that three years later would culminate in keyboardist Richard Wright leaving the band. The album's cover image, a pig floating between two chimneys of the Battersea Power Station, was conceived by the band's bassist and lead songwriter Roger Waters, and was designed by long-time collaborator Storm Thorgerson of Hipgnosis. The album reached #2 on the UK Albums Chart. It was also a success in the United States, reaching #3 on the US Billboard 200.

Cage The Elephant returns with their fourth studio album Tell Me I'm Pretty which was produced by Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys and recorded at Easy Eye Sound in Nashville, TN. "When we set out to make this record we had a few different vague ideas for what direction we wanted to move in musically, but as usual the end result turned out nothing like what we had originally envisioned," said vocalist Matt Shultz. "There was an element of playfulness and swagger absent on our last record that unexpectedly began to surface. At the same time the songs had a more inner-directed and reflective sound. Finally, we started experimenting with combining the two polar elements."
The highly anticipated 10-track offering serves as the follow up to Cage The Elephant's acclaimed 2011 sophomore album Thank You Happy Birthday, which debuted at #2 on the Billboard Top 200 Chart and was praised by Rolling Stone, New York Times and LA Times among others as "one of the best rock albums of the year." The record also spawned the hit single "Shake Me Down" which spent six weeks at #1 at Alternative radio. Their acclaimed self-titled debut album was originally released in 2009 and remained on the Billboard 200 Chart for an astounding 73 consecutive weeks, producing three Top 5 singles at Alternative Radio, including the massive hit "Ain't No Rest For The Wicked."

III
Regular price $27.98 Save $-27.98The Lumineers' new album III is audacious: every note, every syllable, and every moment of silence in between is emotionally charged. It's darker in tone than previous albums and is presented in three chapters, with each one centering on one main character from a fictitious family known as the Sparks, who span three generations in the album's storyline. III's concept began while the band was writing in the Catskill mountains, where producer Simone Felice works. Mixing raw emotional themes with their ear-catching melodies, expressive vocals and trademark acoustic sound, III moves masterly in artistic directions not yet traveled by the band. Regarding the cinematic new record, multi-instrumentalist Jeremiah Fraites says, "This collection of songs worked out in a beautiful way, and I feel with this album we've really hit our stride." Vocalist Wesley Schultz adds that lead single "Gloria," "is about love between an addict and her family." 180g vinyl 2LP-set with three bonus tracks.

Boston
Regular price $24.98 Save $-24.98Boston was in the right place at the right time as an alternative to the disco and nascent punk-rock movements of 1976. Certified Gold one month after appearing on the Billboard albums chart, and platinum one month later, the band's self-titled debut spent a solid 2 1/2 years on the list producing the rock radio fixtures "More Than A Feeling," "Long Time," and "Peace Of Mind" along the way. From the sparkling opening acoustic passage to "More Than a Feeling" through the rollicking country-inspired ramble that finishes the closing "Let Me Take You Home Tonight," the now 17x platinum release unspools as a revelatory, anthemic, acoustic-electric yin-yang hybrid of power pop, hard rock, and classically influenced music. Brad Delp's leather-lung vocals, Tom Scholz's crunchy riffs, and their colleagues assured playing teem with romance, fantasy, possibility, sweetness, imagination, sentimentality, and happiness. Contagious in its appeal, it is the rare album that has no obvious peers – and an effort in which everything, from the studio approach to the intricate details to the climactic architecture of the arrangements, synchronizes in epic fashion.

Be The Cowboy
Regular price $26.98 Save $-26.98The breakout success of 2016's Puberty 2 saw Mitski hailed as the new vanguard of indie rock, the one to save the genre from the white dudes who've historically dominated it. But the often overlooked aspect of being a rising star is the sheer amount of work that goes into it. "I had been on the road for a long time, which is so isolating, and had to run my own business at the same time," Mitski explains, "a lot of this record was me not having any feelings, being completely spent, but then trying to rally myself and wake up and get back to Mitski. I was feeling really nihilistic and trying to make pop songs."
We want our artists to be strong but we also expect them to be vulnerable. Rather than avoiding this dilemma, she addresses directly the power that comes from appearing impenetrable and loneliness that follows. "With a lot of the romantic infatuations I've had," she says, "when I look back, I wonder, Did I want them or did I want to be them? Did I love them or did I want to absorb whatever power they had? I decided I could just be my own cowboy figure that I so desire." In Be The Cowboy, Mitski delves into the loneliness of being a symbol and the loneliness of being someone, and how it can feel so much like being no one.

Follow the Leader
Regular price $32.98 Save $-32.98Ushering in a new post-grunge metal genre with their first two Ross Robinson helmed alt-metal landmarks Korn (1994) and Life Is Peachy (1996), Korn switched gears and co-produced their massive third album, Follow The Leader with the team of Steve Thompson and Toby Wright. The 5x-platinum affair peaked at No. 1 on four charts including the Billboard 200 and gave Korn their first entries on the Modern Rock and Mainstream Rock charts with "Got The Life" and "Freak On A Leash." The latter also earned the band their first Grammy Award. Further album standouts include "B.B.K.," "Children of the Korn" and "All in the Family."
"We were listening to tons of rap, but we also liked bands like Pantera and Sepultura and as we evolved, I think we learned to mix those two styles better," notes Jonathan Davis. "Plus, I grew up on new wave and I always wanted to make music that had lots of melody. We got that into the first two records, but Follow the Leader was where we were able to really emphasize the hooks and people loved that shit." "We never wanted to sound like every other band," Reginald Arvizu adds. "Even though we liked all those bands that were part of the sound that we helped create, we've always wanted to be step ahead of everyone else who was doing this kind of music."
