Accessible and ambitious, Tears for Fears' phenomenal 10-million-selling second album, Songs From The Big Chair, marked a transition in the band's sound and catapulted them into international prominence. Around the Fur the follow-up to Deftones' passionate, aggressive Adrenaline, sees the California quartet expanding on the sheer rage of their earlier work, adding new, more sinister shades to their already extreme sound. The opening "My Own Summer (Shove It)," serves as an introduction to the album's sonic theme: sinewy guitars and eerie whispers alternate with fast, violent crunch. Sepultura's Max Cavallero contributes guitar and vocals to "Headup," while "MX" finds singer Chino trading off vocal lines with Annalynn Cunningham, (wife of Deftones' drummer Abe) in an acerbic take on the rock star mentality. Vocal acrobat Moreno attacks a variety of styles: his breathy, psychotic recitations sound downright industrial, while the album's calmer, more brooding moments show his gift for haunting melody. Behind him, guitarist Stephen Carpenter's heavy wall of sound is astoundingly muscular, yet inspiringly agile. When Deftones' hellish fury hits full tilt, as it always does on this album, Moreno's voice erupts into screams which are best described as otherworldly, transforming this intense musical firestorm into a hurtling juggernaut of aggression. This LP version comes pressed on 180 gram vinyl.

Vinyl LP Reissue of Long Out of Print 1974 Dolly Parton Masterwork Jolene!

The Bob Ferguson-produced Jolene, recorded in 1972 and '73 in Nashville with the musical mecca's finest sessions musicians, is filled not only with richly tuneful songs, but a pair of numbers - "Jolene" and "I Will Always Love You" - that topped the Country charts and remain Dolly Parton signatures to this very day. The oft covered title track tells the tale of a housewife confronting her husband's seductress while "I Will Always Love You" covers the professional breakup of Parton and her longtime duet partner Potter Wagoner (who contributed the aching "Lonely Comin' Down" here). In 1992 Whitney Houston made the latter an international pop smash. Jolene had more than a little to do with elevating Dolly Parton to the next level of solo stardom, now the most-decorated female country music performer of all time.

Since their humble beginnings nearly 25 years ago, when they started playing in a San Diego garage, Blink-182 has gone on to become one of the defining rock bands of their generation, selling over 50 million albums worldwide and rocking audiences from Adelaide to Zurich. The trio of bassist/vocalist Mark Hoppus, guitarist/vocalist Tom DeLonge and drummer Travis Barker, emerged from the SoCal pop-punk scene of the early-90s and quickly gained a reputation for their raucous live shows, incredibly catchy songs and irreverent, tongue-in-cheek humor. Blink-182's latest studio release, California, with new member Matt Skiba of Alkaline Trio who replaced DeLonge, debuted at #1 in July 2016, giving the band their second career #1 album and first in 15 years.
