Essential listening for any music fan, Def Leppard's Hysteria indisputably ranks as one of the most decorated and revered rock albums of all time. Now, for its 30th anniversary, it is finally remastered and available on a 180g 2LP set with wider, deeper grooves to accommodate its 60-minute-plus running length. As the group's second consecutive RIAA Diamond-certified record (over 10 million sales in the US), it would go on to sell over 30 million copies worldwide. Moreover, Hysteria staked a spot in the US Top 40 for 96 weeks matched only by Born in the U.S.A. UK's Q places it among the 100 Greatest Albums of All Time and Rolling Stone touts it on the prestigious 500 Greatest Albums of All Time. Dominating multiple charts, it captured #1 in the UK album charts and on the USA Billboard Top 200 bolstered by immortal Top 5 anthems such as "Pour Some Sugar On Me," "Animal," "Love Bites," "Hysteria," "Rocket" and "Armageddon It."
Hysteria continues to leave an indelible mark on rock n' roll. Powered by stadium-filling drums, rapturous guitars, and unshakable choruses, the Mutt Lange-produced record saw Def Leppard rightfully claim their place among rock's divinities forever. Frontman Joe Elliott says, "It's hard to believe that it's been thirty years since the release of Hysteria...In some respects it really does seem like only yesterday. So, to mark this milestone, we wanted to do something very special for our fans and give them the definitive version of the album..." Adds Phil Collen, "I look back at the whole Hysteria experience with excitement along with fond and tragic memories. It was our commercial zenith thanks to Mutt Lange's insistence that we create an artistic hybrid between hard rock and pop top 40 music using every genre available as an inspiration. It was a rock album that would garner seven hit singles. Mission accomplished."

Bitches Brew
Regular price $32.98 Save $-32.98Double vinyl LP pressing. Bitches Brew is a studio album by jazz musician, composer, and bandleader Miles Davis, originally released on March 30, 1970. It marked his continuing experimentation with electric instruments that he had previously featured on the critically acclaimed In a Silent Way (1969). With these instruments, such as the electric piano and guitar, Davis rejected traditional jazz rhythms in favor of loose, rock-influenced arrangements based on improvisation. In subsequent years, Bitches Brew gained recognition as one of jazz's greatest albums and a progenitor of the jazz rock genre, as well as a major influence on rock and funk musicians.

Under the Table and Dreaming
Regular price $38.98 Save $-38.98Dave Matthews Band's 1994 major label debut Under The Table And Dreaming introduced the Virginia-based quintet to a national audience with an alternative, folk-tinged approach to pop/rock music that resonated in a post-grunge world. DMB earned early acclaim as independent artists for 1993's Remember Two Things, which captured the band's diverse sound in a mostly live setting. This led to a deal with RCA Records, who paired them up with acclaimed producer Steve Lillywhite, whose eclectic work included collaborations with U2, The Rolling Stones, Peter Gabriel and The Pogues. Home to the landmark DMB anthems "Ants Marching," "What Would You Say" and "Satellite," Lillywhite's crisp approach in the studio was an intriguing complement to the band's loose and easygoing but intricately-arranged song styles, making for an album that satisfied longtime fans while attracting new listeners.

Pure Cult

Released domestically for the first time, remastered and with reworked art. Pure Cult is a definitive compilation, bringing together all of The Cult's singles such as "She Sells Sanctuary," "Fire Woman" and more.
The Cult, unlike its predecessor bands the Southern Death Cult and the Death Cult, was unapologetic about its mainstream rock & roll aspirations, which makes Pure Cult the best possible starting place for the group. The Cult was a singles band, and a pretty great one, too, as evidenced by the Stones-like "Love Removal Machine" and the blazing "Fire Woman."
The ensemble's mixture of '60s influences and hard-rock power helped define a whole subset of the late-'80s alternative-rock scene, and it's fair to say that groups like Stone Temple Pilots owed at least some of their success to the Cult's early flirtations with the rock mainstream. Pure Cult gives a good sense of the band's surprisingly organic shift in sound, ranging from the gothy neo-psychedelia of "She Sells Sanctuary" to the sneering rock of "Star."

The band that helped sonically define alternative rock, Collective Soul combined grunge, soul, and Southern-style hard rock on their breakout 1993 debut full-length, Hints Allegations and Things Left Unsaid, which spawned the indelible No. 1 rock radio smash "Shine" and the follow-up hit "Breathe." Named from a lyric in Paul Simon's 1986 hit "You Can Call Me Al," Allegations and Things Left Unsaid was a collection of frontman Ed Roland's demos that spread like wildfire through the Atlanta, Georgia college circuit and its popularity locally spurred Atlantic Records to pick it up for a major-label release. In one fell swoop, Collective Soul was cemented as the jukebox heroes of a new generation.

Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)
Regular price $24.98 Save $-24.98Vinyl LP pressing. This debut emerged as one of the most influential rap albums of the '90s. It laid the groundwork for the rebirth of New York hip-hop, an underground, hardcore new sound that went on to influence Biggie, Jay-Z, Nas, and Mobb Deep, among others. Rap became at once theatrical and cerebral, MCs lyricists and powerhouses capable of violence, metaphor, humor and revolution in their performing. The album is full of hard, gritty beats, references to pop culture and martial arts, eclectic piano and string sounds, as well as surrealist overtones, and there truly was nothing like it in the hip-hop world at the time. Even now, it's an original album in a league of it's own. Get it. You won't regret it.

Weezer (Blue Album)
Regular price $30.98 Save $-30.98Weezer doesn't look like rock stars, its amusing name doesn't evoke stadium-heights glories, and the group's lyrics don't exude confidence or flash. For precisely these reasons, and the fact that the band's songs on their Ric Ocasek-produced 1994 self-titled debut are the stuff of air-guitar dreams and shout-it-out choruses, the quartet became ironic arena-rock stars equally celebrated by in-the-know hipsters and mainstream radio listeners.
Underdogs and misfits, Weezer emerged from Los Angeles, CA as nerdy kids that eschewed traditional party-hard ways in favor of studying Kiss records, engaging in conversations about old LPs, and playing Dungeons and Dragons. The band's awkwardness joyfully translates in the songs on their debut, largely concerned with jealous insecurities, pop culture, true-to-life heartbreak, common accidents, youthful misconceptions, and daydreaming.
Replete with urgent melodies, quirky confessional narratives, wry humor, and gargantuan hooks, Weezer (Blue Album) remains the best geek-rock record ever made. More than three-times platinum, the Blue Album claims an iconic cover that pays tribute to that of the Feelies' Crazy Rhythms. The picture – as well as the bubblegum-inspired content within – has become an indelible part of modern culture. And "My Name Is Jonas," "Say It Ain't So," "Buddy Holly," and "Undone (The Sweater Song)" are all modern classics.

KOD - which stands for Kids On Drugs, King Overdosed and Kill Our Demons - takes us into a new world highlighting addictions of all sorts. The gold certified record is home to the two Top 10 singles "KOD" and "ATM." Cole explains the three acronyms starting with Kids On Drugs, "If I turn on the TV right now, it's not gonna take long for there to be an advertisement that pops up that says 'Are you feeling down? Have you been having lonely thoughts?' And then they shove a pill in your face. The first response of any problem is Medicate." As for King Overdosed he adds, "That's representing me, the times that I was, and am, afflicted by the same methods of escape." And Kill Our Demons, he explains, "That's the end goal: To face our shit, realize that we have some shit going on inside, everybody...whether it be from traumatic childhood experiences, whether it be from a lack of attention, confidence issues, insecurities. Whatever it is, we gotta be honest with ourselves."

The Joshua Tree
Regular price $42.99 Save $-42.992017 sees U2's seminal album, The Joshua Tree, turn thirty years young. Released on Island Records in March of 1987, the album is considered by many to be the turning point at which the iconic band honed their trademark, stadium-filling sound. Released to universal acclaim and featuring the hit singles "With Or Without You," "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For" and "Where The Streets Have No Name," The Joshua Tree shot to No. 1 around the world, selling in excess of 25 million copies and catapulting Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton and Larry Mullen Jr from heroes to superstars.
The Grammy award winning album was an instant classic: critics loved that U2 were drawing inspiration from the USA to develop the European sounds they'd explored on 1984's The Unforgettable Fire. The subject material ranges from commentary on America's wealth and hypocrisy to heroin addiction, romantic despair, the loss of a friend, political and economic oppression and totalitarian brutality. In a decade associated with financial success – U2 were a band that had something to say.
"Recently I listened back to The Joshua Tree for the first time in nearly 30 years," says Bono. "It's quite an opera. A lot of emotions which feel strangely current, love, loss, broken dreams, seeking oblivion, polarisation...all the greats."

October
Regular price $27.00 Save $-27.001981's October saw U2 rising not only to the usual challenges of proving that you're more than a one-album wonder, but to the specific pressure of creating new work as the clock ticked ever louder. Where Boy had only brushed against a mainstream audience in the UK, peaking at No. 52, October reached No. 11. "Fire" was the opening shot, and it made some noise. The song was their first hit single at home, reaching the Top 5 in Ireland, and gave U2 their first UK Top 40 entry. Next came "Gloria," the second single and the opening track. The song's Latin chorus foretold an LP with strong religious themes, but also with a developing sense of the band's songwriting maturity and instrumental dexterity. The innate percussive tension of "I Threw A Brick Through A Window" and urgency of "Rejoice" were offset by the measured, near-instrumental "Scarlet" and the affecting piano balladry of "October" itself.

Slippery When Wet
Regular price $32.99 Save $-32.99Bon Jovi Slippery When Wet on LP
Bon Jovi's eponymous debut album was released in 1984, and "Runaway" became a Top 40 hit. Following its success, Tony Bongiovi sued the band, claiming he developed their successful sound; the group settled out of court. The following year, 7800° Fahrenheit was released and went gold. Despite the band's respectable success, Bon Jovi wasn't becoming the superstars they had hoped, and they changed their approach for their next album, Slippery When Wet.
Hiring professional songwriter Desmond Child as a collaborator, the group wrote 30 songs and auditioned them for local New Jersey and New York teenagers, basing the album's running order on their opinions. After ditching the original cover of a busty woman in a wet T-shirt for the title traced in water on a garbage bag, Slippery When Wet was released in 1986.
Supported by several videos that showcased their photogenic namesake and frontman, the album eventually sold nine million copies in the U.S. alone, helping usher in the era of pop-metal. Two songs, "You Give Love a Bad Name" and "Livin' on a Prayer," reached No. 1, while "Wanted Dead or Alive" reached the Top Ten, and Bon Jovi was established as worldwide superstars once and for all.

Thickfreakness
Regular price $28.98 Save $-28.98Akron, Ohio's Black Keys offer crunchy, riff-heavy blues-rock that is remarkably rich and textured, particularly when one considers that they are merely a duo. Continuing in the vein of their 2002 debut, The Big Come Up, this sophomore album leavens their garage blues with enough innovation to keep things interesting, taking full advantage of Dan Auerbach’s full-throated growl. Particularly appealing are "Hard Row," which lurks somewhere between Cream and punk rock, the strong stomp of "Everywhere I Go," and the irresistible guitar riff that graces "If You See Me." The Black Keys might be covering familiar territory, but they do it so well--and with so much invention--that one is inclined to yield it to them and see what they do with it.
