Takin' Off was pianist Herbie Hancock's first album under his own name. All of the compositions are by the leader, who is backed by such stars as Dexter Gordon, Freddie Hubbard, Butch Warren, and Billy Higgins. The album includes one of Hancock's best-known compositions, "Watermelon Man," which made it to the Top 100 on the pop charts. Ed O'Brien, the acclaimed guitarist and singer-songwriter known for his role in Radiohead, announces Blue Morpho, his absorbing, second solo album and first under his own name.

Named for the iridescent butterfly, Blue Morpho was written during lockdown and recorded at The Church Studio, London and Seven Sound in Wales. The tranquil Welsh countryside proved inspirational, capturing a sense of reflection, healing, and acceptance. Musically the album blends a collage of hypnotic psych-folk, jazz, trip-hop, radiant guitars and rhythm sections. Blue Morpho marks a fresh and deeply personal chapter in O'Brien's musical journey. Produced by Paul Epworth (Adele, Coldplay), with additional production from Riley MacIntyre (Ezra Collective), and mixed by Ben Baptie (Sault, Little Simz). Back in print and on a new color! Originally formed as a three-piece, the then boys, got the idea that adding a singer to the mix would be a good plan. History was made when the trio recruited the brainy and bespectacled frontman Milo Aukerman and the band released their breakthrough EP entitled Fat. What goes around comes around and 2004 found the Descendents releasing their new full length, Cool To Be You on FAT! Since their inception, the fellas have all worked on different side projects, most of them musical, however latecomer and frontman Milo has long been hard at work in the world of academia, finally ending up employed as a Scientist! "Take Me Back / Live from the Gorge" is a landmark live album recorded in 2025 during the band's annual Labor Day weekend at The Gorge Amphitheater in WA. The weekend marked the first time that DMB played Before These Crowded Streets in it's entirety in concert. Other songs include: Dylan's "All Along The Watchtower", "You Never Know" and "It Could Happen." Béla Fleck (who guested on Before These Crowded Streets) joins the band on "Last Stop" and "Don't Drink the Water." Pressed on colored vinyl.

Lauren Lakis makes songs that are steeped in darkness, but inside of them is a sense of hope. They are propelled by the possibility of emerging on the other side feeling less alone and fully transformed.

On her debut album Deadlights, set for release on Riding Easy Records on May 8, 2026, she conjures a shifting reality-one defined by both distortion and clarity. Indebted to shoe gaze and '90s alt rock, it's 10 tracks are filled with ethereal vocals, melodic guitars, and a heavy low end. It's inspired by groups like Deftones and Hole, powerful bands that explore the emotional bottom but are able to rise from the depths. Lakis was born in Baltimore, where she was raised by her single mother. As she grew up, she lost multiple family members and friends to addiction. She became an actor and a photographer, trying to capture the human experience with each endeavor. Her travels led to stints living in Prague and Tokyo, before she moved to Los Angeles. In 2016 she endured a horrible breakup, and then her mother was in a car accident that left her paralyzed. Though Lakis was already singing in a band at the time, these life-altering events motivated her to focus on writing and recording her own music. "When you're in a place of total surrender, you are able to get out of your own way and finally do the thing you want to do, " she says. After the car accident, Lakis's mother's health deteriorated, and Deadlights was recorded over the last year of life, with Lakis frequently travelling back to Baltimore to care for her. Despite these circumstances and the recurring theme of loss in it's songs, Lakis doesn't consider Deadlights a grief album. Instead it captures what's possible when you survive the worst reality you can imagine. "That loss, the experience of going through the absolute worst thing, there's a freedom in that, " she says. "There's a liberation in that where I almost feel invincible."

Two-time Grammy-nominated band The Lumineers are back with their third album, III, a cinematic piece presented as a narrative in three chapters, with each one centering on one main character. III's concept began while the band was writing in the Catskill mountains, where producer Simone Felice works. It took four years for The Lumineers to follow up their platinum-plus self-titled debut - which spent 46 weeks on the Billboard 200 and peaked at #2 - but Cleopatra is well worth the wait. During that time, The Lumineers - whose original members Wesley Schultz and Jeremiah Fraites founded the band in Ramsey, New Jersey back in 2002 - earned a pair of Grammy nominations (Best New Artist, Best Americana Album). Cleopatra proves Schultz and Fraites - along with cellist/vocalist Neyla Pekarek- are neither taking their good fortune for granted, nor sitting back on their laurels. With the help of producer Simone Felice (The Felice Brothers, The Avett Brothers), the man Wesley calls "our shaman," the band ensconced themselves in Clubhouse, a recording studio high atop a hill in rural Rhinebeck, N.Y., not far from Woodstock. The band had total artistic freedom in writing and recording the album, so Wesley and Jer pushed the envelope on experimental tracks like the stream-of-consciousness, purposely lo-fi "Sick in the Head," the yearning, piano chord build-up of "In the Light," or the closing orchestral instrumental, the aptly titled coda, "Patience." "We continue to make the kind of records we want to," says Wesley. "We believe in this music. It's a true labor of love. We just want to keep reaching more people with our songs." Given the evidence on The Lumineers' eagerly anticipated sophomore album Cleopatra, that shouldn't be a problem.
